  • In this Blackpool Pleasure Beach update video I take a look at more work that has continued to happen on the Ice Blast attraction with more scaffolding being placed up the tower and a look at the Bowl-A-Drome building that has now been completely gutted/emptied of all acrade equipment ready for the building to be knocked down and ready for the new attraction hopefully for the 2025 season.

So glad that it looks like they are getting rid of the Bowl a drome arcade I always though that arcade looked really run down and sad looking.
I remember going in there quite a lot and most of the machines in there looked broken and almost abandoned.

There where a few classic machines in there. But the maintenance of them where awful

Nice update Steve, I can’t wait to see the entire tower scaffolded! Looking promising that bowl-a-drome is going soon too

Bowl-A-Drome has been rumourd to have been removed for about 10 years now. And it looks like it is finaly going. TBH I never really payed the building much attention over the years since the ramp way takes up most of the eyeline. And to many I think it was just that place next to the toilets to wait at. Rather than being a spot to go in and use the arcade machines. Not sure if it would be possible. But maybe they can use the planet rock building for part of the queue line.

I think the planet rock building will also be going as well to make way for the new attraction

Well they definitely havent given us any information about ice blast at all this year/season so something needs to be said soon and also on the River Caves

Hopefully the bowladrome does go, they ruined it when they removed all the rocky Facade a few years ago and replaced it with that hideous cheap looking plastic.

Sadly the old facade had to be removed for safety reasons due to most of being destroyed in a storm

Could see ice blast going in the old bowler drome site instead of the new ride

That's my opinion... it makes more sense that way.

Who knows what the actual reason is behind the work on Ice Blast as the park has said bugger all this season. If it does get relocated then there is a lot more to move then just the tower, got to think of all the piping underground to feed to air pressures to the actual tower etc

I don't understand where people are getting the info from that it's just a part/repair for Iceblast... everything suggest it's going to be dismantled... if it was just a repair then a lift or crane would be much faster, safer and cost effective... for these types of structures they need to be dismantled form the top down, hence the scaffolding... IF Iceblast is staying on park, I highly doubt it's staying in the same spot.

maybe its having a major service and new paint job?, who knows apart from the pleasure beach themselves

Maybe it’s more of a serious fix for the “new part” to be installed hence why they need a lot of scaffolding to work from a safe sturdy spot. Who knows if though until the park finally speak out.

wouldnt be safer on a crane, but i absolutely agree that this suggests either removal, relocation or possibly a full paint job refurb.

Thanks for the update what do you think think is happening with ice blast?

@@Ashtonpumpkins glad you enjoyed the video, my own opinion at first I thought is was going to be removed with the lack of work, but now I’m swaying more towards a full refurbishment but just wish the park would communicate
