Like any kit when you get any kit it and it says RTR then take it apart and learn the vehicle. Refill shocks and check tightness of the shock caps, A lot of 'Electric" guys that have never really ran nitro cars just send it then get on here and piss and moan a lot how their nitro is sucky lol. I own two of these and they are a blast to run! Remember.. Curbs are Magnets lol. open lot then you have a chance :). Nice break down Ready Set!! Remember "Electric is CONVENIENT but NITRO is a HOBBY"!!!!!
@eddieb7001 Oh totally! Appreciate you stopping in a checking the vid out. This isn't my first nitro, not even my second or third. I've been in the hobby for almost 25 years now. I put them on the channel from time to time. I've sold off some of my older ones but currently have 5 in the collection. I will say there a lot of folks that do that with electric too. The hobby has changed so much since I started. I appreciate the RTR's but it has watered down the mechanical understanding of RC's. My first few RC's were all kits and then I graduated to sliders but when they were still calling sliders rollers and rollers rollers(only chassis, nothing else)😆 Don't get me wrong RTR's have grown the hobby especially at the right time when eyes were on it and there was nothing else to do but the hobby was so much better when it wasn't being flooded with RTR's every week and slight variations from model to model. Apologize for the novel and being a boomer for a minute😆
@Mads True! I had a few nitro's when I first started out in the hobby but took a break from nitro. Still got my Associated TC3. Got it running after 10+ years of sitting.
@Revelation1177 Funny you mention the HSP 94155. I was considering this or the on-road HSP. You can see what I chose😊 I've owned the TMaxx prior, Traxxas nitro's are very dependable. Nitro can be fickle. When it comes to nitro, I like to buy RC's that have a good track record in the industry. Plus I had a plan for the Slash in the long run so the chassis fits that plan. The Slash has been solid so far and parts have been easy to find for my overall plan. No breaks and starts every time.
@@ReadySetRC I already got the 2wd electric slash u think its better if I go with nitro slash my plan is to put my walksnail fpv system on it so I can drive fpv
@@Revelation1177 Is it a LCG 2WD? If not, the drive is going to be different. Or if you want 4WD, you can go with the Slayer. Something about this one I like. Since the wheelbase is the same as the electrics you can always find bodies too. Also not sure if yours is brushless but this thing moves. Check out my shorts on the sand if you have not already. I swear I did not speed up the video😆 It's that fast.
@@earlmoorhead5555 The 3.3 T-Maxx was my first nitro, great truck. I had it when Traxxas first released the longer wheelbase. Not sure why I chose that over the 2.5 or the Revo but never regretted it. Probably was cost😆🤣
@gavinwavy9132 Thank you really appreciate it! If you do decide to pick one up, go with Traxxas. Very easy to start, parts are available and simple to maintain.
@Selfmadejay You still a have to get batteries for the transmitter and receiver, fuel, do the break-in process, plus tuning after break-in. The typical nitro stuff.
Just an FYI when you break in this truck and run the 5 tanks, especially when you are doing the 3-5 second pulls at full throttle, if you have any kind of head wind no matter how slight the truck will flip over backwards. I can't imagine what it would be like if the gear ratio was changed? I was able to get my broken in just fine, with the exception of multiple back flips. Make sure you have a lot of real estate and ease into the throttle! Also I would look into a Flow Tech body from Proline to keep this truck planted. I have an electric slash the pulls about 65 mph because I have it geared for top end. I have a flow tech body and stays pretty well planted. I hate to see you guys scratch up your new bodies. Good luck!!
@Daniel Cross Great tips! This video is older. I've broke in this truck, ripped it a few times and got the first transformation video and run(to come) up on the channel. That Megalodon Desert Buggy body was amazing to run on it. If you get a chance check them out 👍
Hi, I have a problem with my nitro slash. When the engine is running, the LED on the receiver starts flashing green/red and slash does not respond. He doesn't do it regularly. It's happened to me twice and I crashed = full gas. Well thank you. greet from Slovakia.
@Marko Kubik You may want to rebind the receiver and transmitter. If that does not work, Check the batteries for the receiver. I would suggest solder up and switching over to a NIMH pack much more reliable.
@@xxtt0911 You my friend are wrong, this is a Slash. The Slayer is longer wheelbase and 4WD. Did you watch the first 7 seconds of the video? The box even says Slash nitro🤦♂ Please check out Traxxas site if you think I'm making this up.

Hear ya bro! Been running nitro for almost 40 years, 1/8 on road with 40,000+ rpm, trucks, buggys, nitro is the REAL deal!
My nitro slash is 11 years old, same engine as when I bought it. Thing is still a rocketship. I love it
Nitrogang! So awesome people seem to be getting back into nitro, great unboxing! Looking forward to the series.
@Razor RC Sometimes you got to scratch that itch😆
Glad to see many big RC youtubers getting into nitro 👍

Indeed!
Nitro is great fun. It does require more work, but it's rewarding to get it dialed in.
Nice RC car, I also have one like this and the Slayer as well.
The zip tie is for the fuel tank cap to make
It easier to refill with the body on.
I just bought mine waiting for it to come this helped
@Someone Idk who Thank you and I hope you enjoy it too👍
I've had several fast electric awd RCs, never had Nitro, why would this be a bad first?
awesome nitro rc and great review brother

Hello, good day, what type of fuel does this rc use?
@elviejobumblebee7738 Nitro fuel.
It looks like a rustler
@Mxp88 I can see what you are saying but not in person. This is longer and not as wide. Little less plastic too.
