Vanessa, I'm an American living in Antalya, Turkey where I teach English. I loved your video so much that I sent it to about 20 students as well as to the English conversation club. You and Dan are great.
I love English with Vanny! The accent and the topic show definitely that American English can be something very beautiful when educated and humorous people speak it.
As an EFL teacher I find your videos really professional and totally agree with your approach to teaching and learning a foreign language. Although I consider myself as an "effective user" of English I watch your videos on a regular basis. They are very motivational, natural, realistic and entertaining. During my years of teaching and learning English I have always been looking for the "curiosties" of this beautiful language, such as onomatopoeic sounds of animals and the like; stuff that are hard to look up in dictionaries. One of the undiscovered territories of English for me is the so-called "motherese" words and I could really appreciate you making a video about those special "baby-words" which mothers and fathers use to talk to their babies. Thank you! And keep up with this amazing channel.
My favorite shows are « Seinfeld » of all times and « Married with Children ». I am fluent in English but still love your classes, Vanessa. Live and learn! You are the best!❤️
Man1 to Man2 : Imagine you are on the eighth floor and the building caught fire, and you have no stairways and lifts usable, what would you do? Man2: I will stop imagining.
Hi, Vanessa.👋 I'm Japanese learning English. Your video made me so happy🤣 and I found a similarity with joke between English and Japanese!! In Japan, two types of joke are famous. One is called nazo-kake. To use it, two words(or noun clause) are connected with one phrase(predicate), usually thought of as a formal joke(many comedians do it) The other is called da-jare. You use a phrase or word twice in one sentence in different expression. Latter is simple and known as a dad joke. A person who uses it usually makes others a bitter smile😅 Well, I want to give you examples of jokes, but it's hard for me😫forgive my poor English‼️
Idk if this person lying about having poor English and actually is fluent or if they use google translate but If they are fluent at English then good job 😁👍

Thanks a lot for sharing this video with us "your virtual students", sometimes when we decide to study english we never think of ways to tell or even to understand jokes that are common in America, even learning idioms is difficult (but that's another topic), thanks for these huge posibilities of content coming from real spoken english and its daily customs
Have you ever thought about why nicknames are recalled easier than "official" names? On this lesson you will answer this question. The trick is associate an emotion to the word you are learning. Our memory performs better when we associate an emotion to the content we are learning. Thanks Vanessa for putting this "theory" in practice. Please say hi to your husband and to the babies! Thanks for preparing this kind of material. My English is improving everyday thanks to teachers like you!
