    Thanks, I remove the small gear box screw on top which allows old grease to be displaced in the gear box as new grease goes in.

    I was handed down an older SRM-225 that was in immaculate condition. Looks like they hand washed it after each use LOL. Previous owner said it always started up with no issues.
    It had been stored with gas in it so I changed the spark plug, carburator, fuel lines, air filter etc. Fresh premium gas mixed with Echo oil and it starts up and gear spins up fast at first but then slows down to to a super slow spin.
    I've ordered a clutch and just finished greasing the gear head and drive cable. Thanks for the informative video.

    I own the Echo PAS 2620 straight shaft trimmer and edger attachment. I greased mine after 2 years with the Echo Red Armor grease. I actually didn't need to as there was quite a bit of grease from the factory.

I have a Husqvarna trimmer that I cannot find information like you give for Echo, but I believe I now know what to do for mine. Nothing is broken, just inherited a used trimmer and want to perform maintenance for a good starting point. Thanks again !!

    Good video! I have a very old Husqvarna L125 and sad to say I have never greased it, lol. I think I will now that I’ve watched your video. It is so old I can get a speed feed to fit it. The head I have on it I had a guy at the local shop press the bushing out of the old head and press it in to the new one so that it would fit, lol

    I use a 60ml syringe and load some Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease in it and squirt it in. $10 for a pound at Advance Auto. Works for me. BTW, 15ml is 1/2oz and you must have used 2oz. Not sure if more is better.

    Excellent video, thanks for all the work you do to share this stuff. I wonder how much grease you ended up squeezing into the head at 15:08? It probably doesn' take much because, unless the head was low in grease to begin with, there's really no place for the old grease to get out......

      Clean out the bolt holes really well I mean really well and then get you any kind of quarter inch impact whether it be DeWalt Milwaukee or something else and give it a tap with that because the last thing you want to do is strip them bolts out

Now I am trying to grease drive cable but it has plastic retainers both ends and will not come out! Can I break/remove plastic retainer on engine end and not create another problem?

    Could you take the string trimmer head off and put an edger head on it?

  • @davidgeorge8172
    @davidgeorge8172 4 месяца назад

    FYI. The head has a "left hand" thread NOT a "right hand" thread, meaning you tighten it by turning it to the left or counterclockwise.
    So, to loosen or remove anything with a "left hand" thread, you turn it to the right or clockwise.
