UHMW+Aluminum Jeep JK Skids! (Install Video)

We've covered some JL and JT installs, but now it's time to cover the JKU platform!
The factory skids on your JK leave your oil pan and transmission skid exposed and are not ideal long term for rock crawling. A full steel system is heavy, and aluminum doesn't have the best wear/ abrasion resistance. But, combine steel crossmembers, aluminum skids, and a base layer of UHMW, and you have the best combination of materials for slipping and sliding over obstacles on the trail!

This doesn’t reuse the factory gas tank skid correct?

Correct. The factory fuel tank skid is completely removed and discarded. No need for the extra weight or lost clearance that would result from keeping it 🤙
