Wonders of the modern world where we can see the adventures of those around the world. Nice

Good vid. I like your comments on lengthening our tyre food print rather than widening. Too many people go too fat of a tyre in my opinion.

ballbags Correct. Longer is what you want. Fatter and wider makes it harder to drive.

thanks for the tips, I have found in regards to corrugations that there is an optimum speed at which the cars suspension seems to harmonise and thus smooth out the ride. just sort of depends if you are comfortable sitting on that speed on a dirt road.

No. Always place your thumbs outside of the wheel. If you hit a hard bump you will break your thumbs

I know what he said, but I think he was trying to say the same as yourself, as that is what the vision showed. Also I agree with you...

Nice to see the logic of tall skinny tyres being better than fat tyres off road. Most go for the fat tyres because of misconceptions and the aesthetic, losing steering lock, performance, fuel economy and increasing steering and wheel bearing wear with little benefit. Fat tyres also dramatically increase aquaplaning on wet roads.

What causes corragations in the tracks, always wondered

Harmonic oscillation. It's caused by the tyres of the very vehicles using it. The more vehicles the worse the corrugations. It's basically caused by the bounce of the suspension. As another vehicle uses the route it is "bounced" in the same rut caused by the first vehicle and extends the surface damage. The rhythmic bounce caused by vehicles going at a same or similar speed creates the corrugations.

Why didn't your land cruiser get the snorkle top filter like the other one? And would water trap inside the snorkle pipe line and do damage after driving through rain? Thanks!

Kai He Safari snorkels along with the factory air box separate out the water. It's not a problem. Heavy rain goes in and is diverted out.

    Hi,
Just a few words to say how much I love your newly found and very interesting videos and opinions.
AND . . . I wonder if, in your case, with so much over-land driving, whether a system of auto_tyre_pressure_adjusters would prove beneficial? Especially if you can find a system where they truly auto-adjust, if a system like that exists.’ This could save a lot of worrying and I do not know, but maybe you could ‘loose’ the fitting of an air-pump or connect it to the engine?
    Just a thought.
Take care, from a jealous as hell invalid who drove until about 22 years ago and loved to drive, but for medical reasons I had to stop and voluntarily gave up my Licence to drive in the Uk and I cannot drive and or wouldn’t drive abroad because I dimply cannot afford to go abroad.

mrbluenun the problem with that is that if it adjusts the tire pressure when the tires are hot, it will be getting a false reading, so it is adjusting the tires to the wrong pressure because the temperature changes the pressure.

Is it Nitrogen that most ‘Industry Standard’ operations using auto tire pressures devices? Wouldn’t this have the capabilities of more or less completely letting the gas out by hand and reinstall afterwards using the auto system get over that?
