Best review. Thank you for taking the shoes on the trail versus just talking about them. Your on-trail commentary was great and helped a lot. If you include affiliate links, I'm sure some people would support you by using them.

I have just tried these on in the shop. I felt a bit of pain in the heal when walking up and down the floor. There is a little cushion detail to the centre of the heal. I really want to get these shoes, but at the same time I am concerned that this is going to be an ongoing issue. Is this something you felt initially and did it bed in?

how about cushion? seems like the freeriders have less cushion, more hard.

Yes the freeriders are much firmer both on the sole and outer layer. The trailcross have a more forgiving sole + more arch support. The trailcross have more mesh on the outside and less firm materials

I just replaced my worn out freerider pro with trail cross Lt. My biggest complaint with the freerider was rocks and dirt getting in them constantly. Couldn't ever get them right enough. 3 or so rides so far in the trail cross and they are so much better.

Would these make a good summer hiking shoe as well as an MTB flat pedal shoe. I got the freerider prime blue and the rubber is so hard compared to my old freeriders.

Yes I still currently use the pair from this video as my do it all hiking and riding shoe and I love them. I would say just wear some breathable socks with them to help keep cool like nike dri-fits or something similar

Did you have to go down by a half size for the trailcross Lt?

Hi man, which are better on holding on flat pedals? Thanks

I would say the freerider pros would be better for holding onto flats!

I gotta say I have the trail cross LT and was advised by a friend who has a pair to go a half size down. Worked out perfect (I’m usually a 10, ordered a 9.5). On Amazon reviews say the same - these tend to run slightly larger than true to size. I agree with those reviews
