Okay: A review from what I have seen so far without spoiling anything for any future watchers: I do not think the latter two endings are the potential "Canon" ending to this game...I feel like the first one is the most canon for the situation. It doesn't let up from the feeling of psychological torture and doesn't have any shift or change in mood from beginning to end. While all three can roll off as seeming the most natural in terms of play from how you go about it - I don't see reason for why the later two endings would work with how psychotic the Antagonist is. A very creepy and unnerving psychological horror that takes on an aspect that many would consider to be tremendously terrifying. The kidnapping of a child into the hands of a psychopath. And it leads down an all too common end for what happens to those victims. I still have no idea what the snarling vermin are that are afraid of Water - and I could have sworn one of the hallucinations in the prologue when loading up the main story showed a gargantuan maw coming towards David at some point....and that didn't happen...So some things are a bit weirded out; yet over all the game is solidly made and holds out well for its intended purpose. For a short 2 hour spook fest this game certain gets up there. 8.5/10 in my book.
Ngl I’m a bit of an apologist for the Mama’s Boy ending. Me and my friend (only half-seriously) speculated that Franklin is impersonating David’s mother in that ending and keeping him drugged with the “candy” so he doesn’t notice or question it, and while this likely isn’t canon, it’s at least an interesting scenario!
Use the key to open the red door during the woman with the knife section 1:59:10 instead of going to the attic. The hand is right of the last childs box 2:01:05.
This game is so twisted Edit: this is probably the worst horror game I’ve come across in a long time. So sick, how tf came up with this? I feel stuff like this inspire sick people, you know?
People have been doing this kind of thing long before videos games though, you know? I feel like that's a little unfair to the people who worked on and play this game. There's so much true crime lit, horror films, books, podcasts, etc that detail fictional and real crimes, this one game is super unlikely to just inspire the idea in someone. If they have the mind to do it, they probably will I'm not saying this in a combative way btw. Just offering up another side in a conversational manner. I know that can get lost in the text of an Internet comment lol
I feel that this was still limited to two people, Frank-whatever guy and Theodo-whoever. Killing for fun used to be applied for both animals and humans so it's nothing weird or frightening at all. The game has nothing to do with influencing values, the person would decide if they prefer to become someone unknown. I feel if this was a gang operation, the boy would have never escaped. This was a good one
I’d honestly argue the opposite. I looked into the developers a while back and they don’t seem like sick, evil people at all; if I remember right, their original draft of the story was going to have more “taboo” undertones but they changed it out of sensitivity because they didn’t want to go too far. And psychologically speaking, horror fans watch media like this because they want to feel a fear response without any real-life danger being involved. It’s disturbing, yeah, but it’s all fictional and just here for people who want to get scared.
Odd......... what a horrifying game...... it is beyond scary, well for most people. In the wrong minds, it may inspire twisted people to commit evil and inhumane crimes and acts. I have seen your gameplay of this one. Sure, the game's storyline is a bit too warped. But thanks to this, it might inspire me to create a horror video game. But still, nice performance, ungodly. I wonder what other horror games you might introduce your viewers to next? But at least I enjoyed watching it, so that's good.
Just started the video. It is very unsettling in this prologue. They have some decent atmosphere going for them. Here is hoping it continues.
