This entire movie was just maddening to behold. Main protagonists are about as interesting as an Amish history exhibit. Mindy and Chad are clearly indestructible considering they’ve both been stabbed more than Jenna Jameson at a 300 participant gangbang. Gale’s face is pulled so tight that it could withstand a 6 hour drum solo by Peart, Bonham and Joey Jordison combined. Also, why the hell does every killer reveal have to include the obligatory “I’m over the top wacko and hard pressed to exposit every little detail?” Lastly, I was awash in douchechills when they labeled themselves “the Core 4.” Fuck me, this movie was beyond stupid.

I’m so glad you said that about the characters in these last two movies. They are so Homogenous. They all (especially the female characters) seem to look and dress alike, Making it hard to distinguish one from the other. They all have the same obnoxious, snarky and sardonic personalities and their actors seem to play them the same and deliver the dialogue the same. This wasn’t a problem with the first three movies.
The writing was lazy af the characters ALL sucked. The killers were obvious as hell. The characters get stabbed multiple times lose lots of blood and they somehow don’t die. They even somehow turned Billy into a “voice of reason”
Your point about why Sidney would give two craps about Sam and Tara is something I said after seeing part VI.. In part part V after Dewey dies and that pointless 3rd act, Sindey offers to help the sisters find out who Ghostface is and kill them. Instead of being grateful, Sam is obnoxious and rude to Sidney. If I was Sidney, I would have left town and let those two die. I would not send my love; I would say Enjoy terror you unlikable future psychopath. As you can see, I hated Sam and Tara.
Bro, the scene that really boiled my blood the most was the scene with Mindy explaining the rules of fucking horror films to her friends. Like wtf does "we're in a franchise" even mean, that sounds like something you'd say to a friend after you downed a pint of brown liquor. Also, I fucking hate the 3rd acts in V and this one, both of them have the worst reveals imaginable, but this one has the worst reveal. Every single killer was so hellbent on giving their story instead of just executing the damn "heroes". It's so stupid that it makes Scary Movie's Ghostface look like a 5 star killer. The first 4 Scream movies are the last; I watched last years movie Scream (2022) due to my love of the Wes Craven movies, and reverence for the Scream movies. It is transparent that they do not care about the legacy characters and are pissing all over Wes Craven's grave and hope we like it.

A well shot film that was written by 100 chimps sitting at a keyboard. And don't get me started on the main cast being Wolverine levels of healing ability in the last two films. How many times has Gale been shot or stabbed? Chad must not even have any innards left. All extremely frustrating for a film kind of grounded in reality. And that villain reveal? Ugh.
An important examination I wished was in the video, thankfully you pointed out. When fatal attacks are treated with such triviality, then there’s no tension, no stakes, no horror.
Scream 6 was terrible, aswell as Scream 5. The downhill started with part 3 with its overuse of comedy even though it still had classic Scream moments and I liked Roman as a killer, but the bad quality accelerated with parts 4,5,6. It's a real shame cuz iv been a die hard fan ever since watching the original in theaters in 1996. Scream 1&2 we're the only great films and I'd even argue that 2 was almost as good or just as good as the first. Lastly, the writers wrote terrible dialog for Roger Jackson in 5, 6 and managed to make him sound cringe and not terrifying. This franchise is toast.
I think the comedy aspect to Scream 3 was done because school shootings were happening at that time. They didn’t want to risk giving wrong messages to the audience, so they leaned more to comedy and toned down the gore.
I really wanted the killers to be two different people who happen to be after the cast and are working moreso in competition to each other. That would've been so much more interesting.

It's kinda sad that they've made characters you hate so much that you want the killer to win. I mean, I genuinely wanted Ghostface to kill off the "core four." It's crazy how even after two movies with these characters how little I care about them. 7:38 Woah, I really like that Idea. I would've loved for Stu to come back and kill everyone. Kill the core four, kill the other killers, then it'd set up an awesome return for Sid in the next movie, cause since she's got so much experience with the Ghostfaces; that'd make her the only one that could bring Stu down.

Thing is i loved Part 5 so much, the opening of Part 6 had soooooo much potential. If they went the route of "Scream backwards". Where we know the killers and its about them blending in. It would've been a fresh new and exciting movie for the series and for the genre. I still like this movie. It's got it's good moments. Though i do think it's the worst in the hexology. Goes to show how great this franchise is. When the weakest is "just ok". Honestly might be the best film series in horror.

Obviously in a horror film where they're not fighting back they should be afraid and s**t. 11:10 Nah, bringing him back is stupid. People need to stay dead, and you don't survive a freaking TV to the face. I'm glad they didn't have that reveal in the film especially with the little mention of him prior to the final shenanigans. Also, if they have to bring back Sidney they should send her out on a high. Killing her would feel cheap and she needs a proper ending if they HAVE to bring her back. At least Scream 3 had some balls to give her some closure. I know it's a nitpick, but that shirt with 'Strong Femme Lead' on it un-ironically irked me.
In the scene where, as u mention before, the girl is giving a nerdy analogy of the stab movies and saying this is a franchise now 😂 i was so f annoyed and actually started rooting for the villain cuz that was just terrible, this movie and halloween ends were prob the worst movies in their franchises - I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who thinks Courtney cox (and Jennifer Aniston) have done terribly with their cosmetic surgeries 😂
Looking at how Courtney Cox looked in the first few Scream movies and seeing her face now is sad. Her face looks so unnatural that she looks like a vax figure who speaks.
I hate to get political, but making the killer a cop made no sense in a city like New York. Are we really supposed to believe a DP would get away with swapping out a body in a city crime scene? Not to mention, when crime scene investigations happen in cities there are numerous cops and first responders that would arrive at roughly the same time. And even if I were to stretch my disbelief, it still wouldn't make sense that a cop would buy all those "collectibles" from the previous films because Sydney is now married to Mark Kincaid from Scream 3! Wouldn't a DP buying all those things from another police department get out to Mark in some way and eventually give the killer away?
Kyle Corwith you 100% nailed everything that is wrong… at one point I did even care to see the big reveal, and then was  completely disappointed.…. I appreciate the try but it was a miss much like Friday 13 part 8 Jason take Manhattan, which ultimately just took place on a boat on the way to Manhattan.

The amount of praise this movie was getting and critics were saying it's change for the series for had me excited and man was I let down not as bad as Halloween ends. The entire third act was awful and Jenny Ortega's character was awful in a complete 180 compared to part 5. The opening scene was stupid although I loved the Friday the 13th part 8 reference. I enjoyed the part where they were attacked at their apartment and then chased to the convenience store I thought that was a pretty good scene. I still think 3 is the worst but this isn't far behind. And man everyone gets stabbed multiple times especially Chad and everyone survives never mind calling the Avengers call the "core 4". I don't think it would make any sense for stu to be alive but I like your idea of him killing off the other killer maybe in the 7th. 5-10 for me. Great video I subbed to your channel
Love your idea for Matthew Lillard to come back wearing a reverse color mask taking out the lame ghostface impersonators to make an alpha statement, especially as he's up for appearing again. That could've been done in a really powerful and terrifying way. Not so hot on the idea of Sidney ever becoming ghostface herself as she's always been characterized as a straight arrow even by Scream 4 where she's bravely heading directly into confrontations completely unarmed to rescue damsels. But I do like the idea you have of her being the next opening victim, that could definitely work if it was done carefully, perhaps with her equally taking out one version of ghostface so that only the other partner remains for the rest of the movie.

My honest opinion, with respect to the movies of the Scream franchise is only half of them are good. Scream - One of the best in its genre and my favourite slasher film. Scream 2 - The best of the sequels and a worthy entry which was originally was suppose to tie a bow on the story. Scream 4 - Acknowledging its many flaws, was still a fun entry in the franchise. The others I found to range from poor to just plain bad.
I couldn't believe how bad this was. Scream 5 was a rehash of the original and 6 was a shameless copy of the sequel. Same revenge motive. Sam being the most bland, unlikeable character. Diverse, black lesbian Randy copy with her obnoxious commentary. Gen Z kids don't give a shit about 90s horror. The overly gratuitous cartoonesque violence. How many times has Tara been stabbed now like 15? The acted like it was an actual movie with how nonchalant they were. Excellent review, I've been a huge fan of the original movies, and I wanted to go in liking Scream 6 but it disappointed me in the end. They established rules that they didn't even follow, the characters have ridiculous plot armor (Chad, Mindy, and possibly Gale should have died), the motive is basically a rip off of Scream 2, and you're absolutely right about how the characters are towards each other. Bottom line this movie was an absolute nothing burger and the next installment needs new writers. P.S. Say what you will about five but it's better than this one. Everyone’s allowed their opinion and as are you but this the most overreacted negative reaction I’ve seen about Scream VI. I thought it was fantastic, it was better than i thought it would be if I’m being honest, I even put it in my top 3 of most favorite Scream films. There’s obviously things they could of done better like the killers motives, that was sort of lame but yeah. Shit the ghostface chase scene with Gale had me on the edge of my seat; also you mentioned the work Courtney Cox has gotten done on her face, I’m pretty sure she stopped getting work done after Scream 4 because she didn’t like the message she was sending to her daughter. She could of changed her mind but as far as I’ve heard she doesn’t get work done anymore.

These characters aren’t just written poorly to the point where I don’t even think they’re human. Because they all have the same blank and lifeless expressions on their faces. I don’t think that they are good enough actors to differentiate themselves from each other. The reason why the original Scream worked so well is because every character was different and you can actually tell them apart from one another because they all had different personalities. They were all charming even Billy was charming and he was the goddamn killer. In these new movies no one is unique, no one is charming and No one has a personality of their own. Scream 4 is still pretty bad but the recent movies make it look good in comparison. The cinematography in Scream 4 is such an assault on the eyes.

Lastly, the writers wrote terrible dialog for Roger Jackson in 5, 6 and managed to make him sound cringe and not terrifying. This franchise is toast.
I think the comedy aspect to Scream 3 was done because school shootings were happening at that time. They didn’t want to risk giving wrong messages to the audience, so they leaned more to comedy and toned down the gore.

I really wanted the killers to be two different people who happen to be after the cast and are working moreso in competition to each other. That would've been so much more interesting.

It's kinda sad that they've made characters you hate so much that you want the killer to win. I mean, I genuinely wanted Ghostface to kill off the "core four." It's crazy how even after two movies with these characters how little I care about them.

Absolutely agree with what you said 100%! All the points! Horrible movie dont get the hype! cheap, ugly, inconsistent, the reveal and motives? HORRIBLE. yes the new characters are cocky, annoying and arrogant. we'll never have the balance between horror, normalcy, comedy, suspens etc... of the original characters and movies.
Thing is i loved Part 5 so much, the opening of Part 6 had soooooo much potential. If they went the route of "Scream backwards". Where we know the killers and its about them blending in. It would've been a fresh new and exciting movie for the series and for the genre.
I still like this movie. It's got it's good moments. Though i do think it's the worst in the hexology. Goes to show how great this franchise is. When the weakest is "just ok". Honestly might be the best film series in horror.

11:10 Nah, bringing him back is stupid. People need to stay dead, and you don't survive a freaking TV to the face. I'm glad they didn't have that reveal in the film especially with the little mention of him prior to the final shenanigans.
Also, if they have to bring back Sidney they should send her out on a high. Killing her would feel cheap and she needs a proper ending if they HAVE to bring her back. At least Scream 3 had some balls to give her some closure.

I hate to get political, but making the killer a cop made no sense in a city like New York. Are we really supposed to believe a DP would get away with swapping out a body in a city crime scene? Not to mention, when crime scene investigations happen in cities there are numerous cops and first responders that would arrive at roughly the same time. And even if I were to stretch my disbelief, it still wouldn't make sense that a cop would buy all those "collectibles" from the previous films because Sydney is now married to Mark Kincaid from Scream 3! Wouldn't a DP buying all those things from another police department get out to Mark in some way and eventually give the killer away?

I appreciate the try but it was a miss much like Friday 13 part 8 Jason take Manhattan, which ultimately just took place on a boat on the way to Manhattan.

Kyle Corwith just watched your video, you are the first person who gave the film a proper review. The amount of praise this movie was getting and critics were saying it's change for the series for had me excited and man was I let down not as bad as Halloween ends. The entire third act was awful and Jenny Ortega's character was awful in a complete 180 compared to part 5. The opening scene was stupid although I loved the Friday the 13th part 8 reference. I enjoyed the part where they were attacked at their apartment and then chased to the convenience store I thought that was a pretty good scene. I still think 3 is the worst but this isn't far behind. And man everyone gets stabbed multiple times especially Chad and everyone survives never mind calling the Avengers call the "core 4". I don't think it would make any sense for stu to be alive but I like your idea of him killing off the other killer maybe in the 7th. 5-10 for me. Great video I subbed to your channel

Love your idea for Matthew Lillard to come back wearing a reverse color mask taking out the lame ghostface impersonators to make an alpha statement, especially as he's up for appearing again. That could've been done in a really powerful and terrifying way. Not so hot on the idea of Sidney ever becoming ghostface herself as she's always been characterized as a straight arrow even by Scream 4 where she's bravely heading directly into confrontations completely unarmed to rescue damsels. But I do like the idea you have of her being the next opening victim, that could definitely work if it was done carefully, perhaps with her equally taking out one version of ghostface so that only the other partner remains for the rest of the movie.

My honest opinion, with respect to the movies of the Scream franchise is only half of them are good.
Scream - One of the best in its genre and my favourite slasher film.
Scream 2 - The best of the sequels and a worthy entry which was originally was suppose to tie a bow on the story.
Scream 4 - Acknowledging its many flaws, was still a fun entry in the franchise.
The others I found to range from poor to just plain bad.

Excellent review, I've been a huge fan of the original movies, and I wanted to go in liking Scream 6 but it disappointed me in the end. They established rules that they didn't even follow, the characters have ridiculous plot armor (Chad, Mindy, and possibly Gale should have died), the motive is basically a rip off of Scream 2, and you're absolutely right about how the characters are towards each other. Bottom line this movie was an absolute nothing burger and the next installment needs new writers. P.S. Say what you will about five but it's better than this one.

Everyone’s allowed their opinion and as are you but this the most overreacted negative reaction I’ve seen about Scream VI. I thought it was fantastic, it was better than i thought it would be if I’m being honest, I even put it in my top 3 of most favorite Scream films. There’s obviously things they could of done better like the killers motives, that was sort of lame but yeah. Shit the ghostface chase scene with Gale had me on the edge of my seat; also you mentioned the work Courtney Cox has gotten done on her face, I’m pretty sure she stopped getting work done after Scream 4 because she didn’t like the message she was sending to her daughter. She could of changed her mind but as far as I’ve heard she doesn’t get work done anymore.

These characters aren’t just written poorly to the point where I don’t even think they’re human. Because they all have the same blank and lifeless expressions on their faces. I don’t think that they are good enough actors to differentiate themselves from each other. The reason why the original Scream worked so well is because every character was different and you can actually tell them apart from one another because they all had different personalities. They were all charming even Billy was charming and he was the goddamn killer. In these new movies no one is unique, no one is charming and No one has a personality of their own. They’re just archetypes of the same character the snarky know it all smartass basically a more obnoxious, less funny and less charming version of Randy. Long story short Scream 6 was garbage. No I actually take that back calling this movie garbage would be insulting to garbage this movie was an unflushed turd I detest this movie!
