One of the best bands to grace this earth! Part of the soundtrack of my youth in the 70's.
If not THE best band!
@@StaciaAmnaber my opinion the greatest rock band of all time alongside the doors but led zeppelin no1 👍
In the midst of the summer of love an the English Invasion, Zeppelin stands alone
OMG we were so lucky… 2/12/66
@hankarmentrout6697 Indeed we were. I was born in May 1967.
"Black Dog" was originally recorded at a farm called Hedley Grange in England, and while writing the song Jimmy Page and Robert Plant couldn't decide on a title for the tune. They later decided to name it after one of the residents of the farm, a large black dog that was always around. So just "Black Dog", no other meaning. Except ROCK AND ROLL!!!
Is that the farm Queen wrote a night at the opera in?
@@joshgrant824 Wikipedia says Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was recorded at Rockfield Farm, in the Quadrangle building(not in the Coach House like other rock bands like Oasis, Bullet for My Valentine, Sepultura, Jayce Lewis, Simple Minds and Opeth who recorded at Rockfield.
The Quadrangle at Rockfield Farm was built in 1973, while Hedley Grange where Led Zeppelin recorded Black Dog was built clear back in 1795)
@@drServitis Another "fun fact" about Hedley Grange is that it was owned at the time of the recording , by a certain Mr. Crowley, "The World's Most Wicked Man". And on the initial run of LP's of Led Zeppelin III Crowley's words "do what thou wilt" were inscribed on the inner part of the record, next to the label.
@@bobschenkel7921 Thanks, so Mr Crowley DID have a stronger influence on Satan's music than I realized. Since you mentioned Mr Crowley I'll post Ozzy's tribute to him here! ruclips.net/video/G3LvhdFEOqs/видео.html
@@bobschenkel7921 How is that possible when Aleister Crowley died in 1947? Black Dog was recorded in December of 1970. You might be thinking of the house on Loch Ness that Page owned, Boleskine House. It was once owned by Crowley and was said to be a really creepy place (to say the least) by a friend of Page's who house-sat for him there once. Headley Grange was never owned by Aleister Crowley.
That is rock and roll at its finest. One of the greatest bands of all times.
This is a ROCK anthem...One of the best bangers of all time...Thanks for making my day...Love you guys!!!
True fact: I went to university at the University of Michigan in the early 70's. The dorm I live in through my Sophomore & Junior years was on North Campus and I had a room on the East wing that faced into the "arena" of the front entrance. One Saturday afternoon on a bright spring day I decided to open up the windows and blast some tunes for the entertainment of anyone entering the building. My "artist of the day" was Led Zeppelin. When Black Dog came on, an impromptu party broke out. It was a glorious day! PS - Shawn & Mel don't let anyone tell you not to play Rock & Roll! I'm your black brother from another mother and I've been doing it since there WAS Rock & Roll.
Loved the reaction alot guys. Led Zeppelin are the Goats. 🤘❤🔥🔥
Led Zeppelin was voted "The greatest Rock group of all time"! They just had it! those 4 boys from england, who played, spent hours, and hours of playing music in some old dreary farm home rural england paid off!!! So parents, let your kids practice.. you never know where it will take them!
Robert Plant - lead singer, the great Jimmy Page - lead guitar, John Paul Jones - bass, keyboard, & just about every other instrument ever created, John Bonham - one of the greatest drummers of all time. He passed away in 1980, & the other Zep members say that the heart of the band went with him. They pretty much went their separate ways at that point, only very rarely performing together again. There's a terrific video of Led Zeppelin receiving the Kennedy Ctr. Honors in DC, with Heart performing "Stairway To Heaven" in their honor, & Jason Bonham, John's son, playing drums on the song. Well worth reacting to.
I remember seeing Led Zepplin live at Earls Court in London in 1976 - unbelieveable!
Proof again..... That Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever ! More from this concert !
I've decided that the next time I get a dog, she will be black, and her name will be Heyhey Mama.
(The song was recorded at a studio in an old country house. There was a black dog that kept hanging around the yard. When the band couldn't think of a name for the song, they named it after the dog. Trufax!)
I always wondered where the name came from since half the time their lyrics have nothing to do with the name of the song.
That's freaking awesome!;💕✌🏻🎶
Shawn & Mel, for your 3rd Led Zep song I'd recommend "Rock and Roll", "Stairway To Heaven" or "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid"!!!
Saw Zepp in London when I was 15. I am now 65! Still rocking with Zepp.
Sadly, the band broke up after their drummer John Bonham died in 1980 from alcohol poisoning, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant did a small tour in the 1990's without their bass player John Paul Jones. I saw that tour at the Los Angeles Forum. They didn't play again until 2007 in London at the O2 Arena with John Bonham's son, Jason playing drums. That was and will be their very last performance.
There's only one Led Zeppelin ... the granddaddy of Rock n' Roll. Us Baby Boomers cut our teeth on Robert and the band. Those were the days!
I just saw Robert Plant in concert last weekend! He is still amazing! Led Zeppelin my favorite band! Please listen to When the Levee Breaks and Since I’ve been loving You!
My favourite Zepplin song, keep doing what you're doing with your reactions, I had lung surgery and I love watching your reactions.
I was very fortunate to see Led Zeppelin in concert for my 18th birthday back in 1977, at the Capital Center in Largo, Maryland, and they opened the concert with this song! EVERYONE was stood up! The best birthday present ever!
This live version is good, but the studio version is fire with Robert Plant hitting those high notes.
Been a Zepplin fan from the very beginning they took rock to another level,Growing up with Cream,Deep Purple and Black Sabbath to name a few was fantastic.
Thanks for that reaction! Had me smiling on that one!!!
Ya know what I find weird!? Growing up & hitting my teenage years in the early 80s,, I hated this genre of music. Just give me Motown/Disco & Pop music. But now... since subscribing to your channel & a couple of others, I actually have found myself loving this music! I'm sure I'm not the only one that's happened to. His name btw, is Robert Plant. 👍🥁🎸🇬🇧🇺🇸🎙
I cant even imagine hating this music..i grew up sitting outside my brothers window listening to his music because i was the younger brother...i used to be mad but these days i realize how lucky i was at a young age
@@kevinmcinnis2453 even I can't imagine it nowadays. And I am truly sorry that I never gave it the time or justice it deserves. But.... Better late than never eh? And I also, am ever so grateful that I grew up when I did so i got to hear all those fabulous tunes first hand. 🎸🥁👌🎼🎵🎙
Led Zeppelin is awesome!
No auto cue, no auto tune, all raw and live. I count myself so lucky to have grown up through the late 60's & 70's and got to listen to these bands and I still listen to all these bands. Keep going with the great content guys
Best band ever. Please do more from them. You Shook Me is one you should react to.
Where have you guys been? We missed you! Been Jonesing for my Shawn & Mel reaction video! 🤣😎☮️
I'm curious. What does "jonesing" mean. I never heard that before..... Or is it a typo? 🙊
it means needing a fix (drug term)
RIGHT???
@@kimcutts6153 Young'uns...
First three 8 tracks (lol) I ever bought, were Led Zeppelin's "American Grafitti", Aerosmith's "Rocks", and KISS' "Destroyer".
I still think (as with The Beatles and most British bands) the biggest irony in Zeppelin is hearing Plant sing and then - particularly at the time - hearing him talk in this perfunctory black country Hereford/Worcester accent. Running down the aisle on a plane, shouting 'Make way for old Robert!' as he headed for the toilet.
Best rock band ever in my opinion
THIS is my fav Zep tune by far !!!! Something about it is pure fire
“Let me tell you about this poor old dog. He was a retriever in his early days, and the only thing he could ever find in his late days was his old lady who lived two houses away from where we were recording. And he used to go see the old lady quite regularly, but after he'd "boogied" and everything else, he couldn't get back. And we used to carry him back. And this has nothing to do with a chick in Detroit - it was a black dog." - Robert Plant, The Forum, Los Angeles June 25, 1972.
My favorite led zeppelin song to play on guitar, always been obsessed with the riff
Hey guys I was at this show actually all six nights at the Garden in 1973 amazing amazing band they are my favorite and where have you guys been
now that's a true Led Zep fan!! Did you get a bulk discount? They reacted to Whole Lotta Love and Babe I'm Gonna Leave You a while back.
@@surlechapeau if it was for today's concerts Maybe a couple years ago most likely back then tickets really weren't that much got at least two of them from scalpers outside actually the first time I saw them was 3 years prior Fillmore East 1970 in New York I think I was like 14 Maybe but I've been listening to him before that are you a fan looks like it.
@@rogercaruso9337 definitely a fan. So unique in all aspects of the music.
Sadly, drummer John Bonham died in September of 1980 and the mighty Led Zeppelin broke up after that. They have had a few reunions over the years, including gigs where Bonham's son Jason Bonham plays the drums. I don't know if you've reacted to it yet, but the Heart Tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy center (I believe the year was 2012) chokes me up. The Wilson Sisters from the band Heart along with an army of other musicians and Jason Bonham on the drums covered Stairway to Heaven. The surviving members of Led Zeppelin were in the audience and the camera shows them frequently. I wish I could have seen them live too. There is a movie (based on the double album of the same name) entitled "The Song Remains the Same" that contains a lot of footage of live Led Zeppelin and you can find it on streaming cable TV.
Aren't they magnificent? Especially live! Watch all the live songs from 1973 at MSG!
Omg Julie Julie Julie they are the true pioneers of rock and roll I actually inked myself because what they did to me as a person was shape me my mum and dad hated them and even tried to take my cassette player away from me as I said on that day well that ain't gonna happen 🤣
Jimmy Paige is a guitar MONSTER!
Shawn and Mel - This MSG performance was captured on the movie/documentary called "The Song Remains The Same" and you get to hear a ton of songs all from MSG live. They also show Peter Grant (Led Zeppelin Manager - and greatest ever) and a scene from each band member to a song. Bonham in his scene drives his dragster!
Super sweet reaction and perfect choice of song and performance.
Zeppelin is on a level of their own.
So sorry to hear about all the BS y'all have been facing lately. Hate it when bad things happen to good people and you both are exceptionally good people Imo.
Thanks for doing your thing, spreading great music and even greater vibes. The world needs more people like you two.❤️
I love your expressions as you listen to this! Best reaction channel on You Tube.
Try the studio versions too! Best Rock Band Ever!
A stray black dog would hang out around the place they were recording probably the best album ever Led Zeppelin 4
Always a favorite of mine for sure! 🔥 And yes.. Young Robert Plant in his favorite jeans! 😝🔥💖💙✨
Good to see you two reacting to great songs again. Much Love to you both! From Bay Area, Cali
When the footage was later viewed, they tended to agree it wasn't their best night. So it makes you wonder what a really good night was like for them.
Mels hair is so cute in this video
That was fun, I haven't sat down and listened to that one all the way through in years. The guitar solo is fire! Loved it. :)
His name is Robert Anthony Plant , but I know you guys must know by now, I loved your reaction so much and hanging in there… If you go to a concert if they do ever just do one more you have to take me Lol! 🙏🏼🤟🏼✌️💕
*So how many Zeppelin songs have y'all reacted to...10, 12? Just about 95 more to go.* ♥
One of my favorite bands of all time! DO MORE ZEPPELIN!!!
Yes you two!! Haha...Get that Led (Zepplin) out!!! Please, please with sugar on top...If ya take requests for reaction...I recommend (type this in utube search, because you want this version): Thin Lizzy Still in love with you National Stadium Dublin 1975 ...I love the lead singer Phil singing the song and dedicating it to his mother as she was in the audience that night (singer would pass away 11 years after this...died so young from drug abuse complications/pneumonia/hepatitis,,,it was a sad time cuz i love Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott) Thanks for reading Shawn n Mel!!
In a class by themselves. Nobody can put you in a trance like Jimmy Page. Absolutely incredible. 😎
Legends!!!!
Best boss I ever had was a young man in the audience shown here. We would discuss Zepplin over lunch. Shout out to Dave Kosko!
Love the reactions. You get it! ❤
Love you guys- and all the Squad!
The greatest EVER. Yes I said it.
The best rock band in history. Just my opinion!
Great reaction guys...love yalls content.
My fav Zep song! Miss y'all...hope all is well!! ❤
How you doing Connie kat
@@rogercaruso9337 Hi Roger...I'm great...hope you are as well!
Hi Connie, there is an artist I'd like you to check out and tell me what you think. His name is Lee Oskar and the song is Before the Rain. Thank you 😊
@@conniekat3424 you know if anyone's doing any chats tonight
Seen Robert plant 2 times 1985 1988 Dallas TX. It used to be my ring tone but I had to change it everytime the phone rang I would jump. Now it's hey Jude. TX. Stay groovy and well my friends
I'm not a huge Zepplin fan.... strange considering my generation. But, Black Dog is one of the greatest hard rock songs of all time. "Rock and Roll" is another.
Nice to see you enjoying some 'Zeppelin. You really need to hear 'The Rain Song' Live 1994 by Robert Plant & Jimmy Page two of the remaining members, it's one of my favourite Zeppelin tracks and this version is superb, you'll love it I know it.
That is an excellent version I strongly agree
Per Songfacts The title does not appear in the lyrics, and has nothing to do with the song itself. The band worked up the song at Headley Grange, a mansion in Hampshire, England that is out in the country, surrounded by woods. A nameless black Labrador retriever would wander the grounds, and the band would feed it. When they needed a name for this track, which didn't have an obvious title, they thought of the canine and went with "Black Dog."
In this song, Robert Plant is singing about a woman who appeals to his prurient interests, but is clearly no good for him - he tells himself he'd rather have a "steady rollin' woman" come his way.
Robert Plant explained in an interview with Cameron Crowe: "Not all my stuff is meant to be scrutinized. Things like 'Black Dog' are blatant, let's-do-it-in-the-bath type things, but they make their point just the same."
Fool in the rain is a Zeppelin song that you need to react too. You can thank me after the reaction!!
An awesome song! Great reaction!
😊😊 Zeppelin !!!😊😊
Was just a regular decent kid...until I heard this! You guys are legit. Subscribed!
Love your intro with the handshake and explosion. Good job..
Had to stop by to leave a general comment for you two….I couldn’t watch the video about people leaving negative and ignorant comments because that made me angry. I think you’re both wonderful and you should ignore every hateful comment unless they are also threatening, in which case you need to document it and report it to a few entities that come to mind, from YT to LE.
I really enjoy you both. Love your attitudes, and there has been more than one time when I was feeling down and felt better after watching a video you’d posted. F those people. I’ll defend you any day (or night). Sending love your way!
Legendary band !
For some down-right bluesy music, you need to check out "Since I've Been Loving You" off their Led Zeppelin III album. It will take you to church! Enjoy.
You guys are the best. So positive
Hey Shawn and Mel I love you guys and everytime Shawn takes a little drink of water I will gulp down a cold bottle of vitamin "B" Beer hahahaha keep your great videos coming especially 60s and 70s
Son los más grandes dela historia
Oooooooooooo yeah baby that was awesome
I like this song, and it's fun to watch live performances, but I enjoy the studio version of this much more.
Came for my highschool flashback.
Those cute little tops the vocalist is wearing are actually “Trophies” if you get what I’m saying.
That's how it's done!
Kashmir is also the bomb this band are the goats. My daughter is 21 i turned her on to this kind of music she loves it.
We used to play that album back in the 70's. I like the album more than this live concert. It was good partying music then. Listen to the album or CD. It's better! 👍😊
This was my favorite band for tripping! I'm so happy to see you enjoying them! Thank you!
Robert Plant was married at this time and he lost a son during his time with the band. He died from a stomach virus. It was very sad. Plant was in his early twenties.
GOATS
It's been a minute and a half since you guys last uploaded reaction videos. I was scared you'd gave it up. 😱.
My number 1 group of all time. You should check out "The Rain Song ". Still hoping that you will check out Joe Satriani "I Believe ". ✌️
Yall should react to Led Zeppelin: Live on TV BYEN/Danmarks Radio [Full Performance]
it is 30 minutes but its so good and really shows how good they even were at the start too. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND PLEASE REACT TO IT!
Led Zep always fire!!!
Story is the reason Robert Plant wore such frilly tops on tour, he was wearing the blouse from the previous nights conquest!! 😝
And everything he sings he makes so dirty and raw. My fav song of theirs is an old Blues number about the Great Mississippi Flood in the 20s.. it's about a huge natural disaster but I swear it sounds like sex!
Good choice. I watch it maybe 3 times a year, never get sick of it. It´s a VERY tricky song to play with time signature changes that are maddening to get right. They made it look easy!
I always heard that "black dog" was slang in Great Britain for a hangover. As in, I'm alright but I got a case of the black dog.
Yeah!!!!! ☮️💟
It's worth checking out Bet Harts recent cover of this. Maybe the only female vocalist with the voice and attitude to pull it off.
LED ZEPPELIN - "since i've been loving you" (remastered).
You may have reacted to it , i don't know. If you ain't, definitely check it out. Led Zeppelin are probably in most peoples top 5 bands of all time.
If you notice his shirt is kind of small? This shirt was from the previous night chic. A lot of his videos show him with his trophy shirts/ blouses 😂🥰
The big legged woman ain't got no soul. Robert Plan always wore the cutest blouses. Led Zeppelin will always be the goat rock and roll band!
The Best there ever was to do it.
Yes
There musical influences came from the Deep South of America, Black Soul and Blues.
Who doesn't love Led Zeppelin, so many great songs to choose from, there's something for everyone.
If you would like some romantic Zep, I would highly recommend Ramble on, Dyer maker and my obsession song, Over the hills and far away. But try not to get it mixed up with the ancient British tune or the Gary Moore one with the same title, although the Gary Moore one is awesome, specially if you love the strong drum sounds. I call it Running drums, but they're typically Celtic in origin.
You guys are such a delight to watch 😘💖
