It has one of the best plot twists I've ever read at the end, and for the whole book I had no idea where it was going. If you want a book written in verse that has character growth and a captivating plot, you should read Unbound by Ann Burg. It takes place in the 1800s and it’s about a slave girl who is moved from working in the fields with her family to work in the kitchen in the Big House. One day, a white man helps them to escape and they encounter a lot of troubles. It’s really good, and I highly recommend it

I love Emergency Contact, it's one of my all time favourites. I don't think it's that hated, but I see negative reviews more often than positive ones! I've also noticed people who dnfed the book place a bad review, saying the main character has an issue, but later in the story her friend confronts her with it and she works on herself to make it better so eh. A book doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, that's okay. as long as we're glad other people did find something they love, even if we don't ourselves.

It is just a small dive into the stange but I personally fell in the love with the main caracters and even though the world the book creates can seem straight out of a nonsensical acid trip but it always drags me into the plot. 5/5 stars please at least try. I love that there is main jesse doing the video and then shady jesse appearing every once in a while to shade main jesse. But at the same time i just wanna say "JESSE LEAVE JESSE ALONE"

Teachers and coaches are very unaware when bullying happens. There’s always the exception but I have been to several schools and tried many sports while having many conflicts fitting in with others and not once had someone truly reached out

You've got me going down the rabbit hole looking into this myself, now! I read The Fever by Megan Abbott, which is a thriller with a 3.12 average rating on Goodreads that I gave 4 stars. Idk, it wasn't Shakespeare or anything, but I read it on a long plane ride and it kept me entertained, so I don't know what else I'd expect from it.

I LOVE unlikable characters too, they're so fascinating! But I know not everyone likes them :')
A book I really enjoyed and most people didn't is Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis (it also has a very unlikable mc) :p

For me, it’s My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent. I can completely understand why many hate it tho. It’s very graphic and disturbing with its themes. I found it to be a great example on how manipulation can affect a person from a young age and how some people understand the world differently from others

I loved Genuine Fraud, I didn't even noticed it was low rated. And about the description of the book, it is honestly impossible to clearly explain this book without spoiling it completely. And yes, the ending was not the best but definitely has the wow/shock element in it.

I got you on that Christian reference 😂 I am so happy to have found a really good Christian booktuber who keeps the mind open to lots of books, even ones that most Christians would frown on. I do the same and like seeing why Christians may or may not be ok with certain books for myself.

As always, an amazing vid. A book I loooved that has a pretty bad rating and I've only heard bad things about on booktube is Solitaire by Alice Oseman. Yes, it has some issues, but I found it was an amazing portrayal of a 17 year old dealing with bad mental health and feeling miserable, given the fact that I, at the time of reading it, was a 17 year old dealing with bad mental health and feeling miserable and I related to her 100%, we were basically the same person.

If you liked "Genuine Fraud," you might want to check out "October List" by Jeffery Deaver. It's also told back to front, and I think it does it really well.

I am a teacher, and the problem with it, the reason it goes unnoticed, is that the bullies are smart enough to do it when the teacher can’t see or hear and even if it’s reported, it can be hard to punish a student when it’s a he says, she says type situation.
