If you find that sharing a portion of the screen results in a fuzzy looking slide, it is likely because you have a lower resolution screen. The common 1366 x 768 screen doesn't have enough pixels when sharing a portion to create a crisp image for the attendees. This article shares two alternatives for lower resolution screens: www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/alternatives-to-sharing-a-portion-of-presenter-view-with-1-screen-in-zoom-windows-so-you-can-see-your-notes/
As part of my interview process, I had to do a presentation to a group of folks. I took it for granted that I will have Presenter view showing on my side, and just slides on their side. Hell, I was utterly wrong and I was presented with a full slideshow screen. This video will save a lot of people!
I published a video with an updated way to show high-res slides to the audience with only 1 screen in Zoom on Windows at: ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html
Thank you so much for this video! I am training a class today for my company and I only have one screen. I will be sharing this with my team! You save the day!

Finally, someone who gets it! Specific instructions for specific questions. Try as I might, I’ve spent hours trying to figure out some problems that these videos quickly resolve.
I'm glad you found the video helpful. When using Presenter View in Zoom on Windows, check out this new approach I recently shared that allows your attendees to see full screen slides: ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html
I have resisted using two monitors because it's so overwhelming. This is exactly what I have needed all year long! Going to immediately start using this approach.
I am soooo glad I found this video! I have two presentations this upcoming week and had no idea I could share a portion of my screen on Zoom. Now I don't have to memorize my notes! Thanks very much!
I had been playing around with sharing a portion of the screen, but the missing key was knowing how to activate presenter view with a single screen! Thank you! So helpful
I'm glad you found it helpful. I have an updated video that allows you to share high-res slides with the audience at ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html.
held my first meeting with your advice with the multiple screens so i could read my notes.. stayed on time and my team loved it.. THANK you for your help xoxoxox

Great instructions with examples! This is going to save me for doing a work presentation on the road! I noticed that sometimes when doing this, I had to click on Basic to choose the correct screen, then advanced to show part of that screen. Otherwise it sometimes just came up as a full screen version of my power point.

Thanks for this clever workaround! The missing piece for me was not knowing about the "portion of screen" share option. Thank you for making this video and sharing this useful information with the community!
Thanks for making this video. Super useful. I did a presentation on zoom some months ago, and had to rely on my memory notes cos the audience saw the entire screen when I was on presenter mode.
I'm glad you found the video helpful. I have another method of using Presenter View with one screen that allows for higher quality slides. The video is at ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html
I'm glad you found the video helpful. You will also want to check out the technique in this video ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html that allows you to share high-res slides on Zoom.
Thank you very much. I'll probably do a practice run before my presentation just so I make sure I'm following your instructions correctly, but it looks like pretty straightforward to me. Thank's!
This is a very good Powerpoint and Zoom tutorial. So I learned quite a bit, well essentially almost everything, how both apps can be utilized to do a presentation in Zoom. I appreciate and tysm.
I'm glad you found the video helpful. You may also want to check out my newer approach for sharing full screen slides from Presenter View in a Zoom meeting on Windows here: ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html

Since Google Meet does not offer a way to share only a portion of the screen the technique in this video would not work. This article gives options for different meeting platforms if you just have one screen: www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/powerpoint-presenter-view-with-a-single-monitor-screen-whats-possible-in-microsoft-teams-zoom-webex-and-google-meet/
Thank you! I wish I had seen this yesterday before my Zoom presentation. Just superimposed a Word doc on top, was cluttered on my end. Your method is so much better. Very helpful for next time!
Thanks for a concise and instructive video! The question I had the wasn't answered was: how do I get a RUclips video to run in Presenter mode? I have learned that I need to have the Edge browser open, but clicking on the slide doesn't work the same way it does in slide show mode, and I can't find the relevant setting >.< I'll keep searching! Thanks for what you've got here
I'm glad you found the video helpful. The simplest way to play a RUclips video as part of a PowerPoint presentation is to insert the video onto a slide. Then the video can play as part of the slide show without having to use a browser. The current slide portion of Presenter View will show the video playing. If you are using a single screen, you may also want to see if one of my newer videos on this setup might work better for you: ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html
Thank you! I had a presentation done today and was wondering how to improve on it because I can only see the PowerPoint slides during presentation mode and not the Zoom chatbox! It was like talking to myself. 😅 Will definitely implement your tips next time!
I have a seminar speech tomorrow and I really want to read from my scripts, while presenting from my slides. This has saved my life. TYSM!
Glad the video helped!
I found this literally the NIGHT BEFORE the presentation I was sweating. You totally get my Hero Of The Day Award!!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. I have an updated approach in this video: ruclips.net/video/1px2cRfsGWk/видео.html

You are correct that on a Mac you use Command+Tab. I have a video showing this approach on a Mac here: ruclips.net/video/4jMn0yf3muo/видео.html
