#trentandallie #diy #familyvlog
I love that the entire front facade of the house is destroyed, but Allie's Christmas wreath hangs undisturbed.
Time to take it downlol😂
It's only 6 months till Christmas.🤔 They could just leave it.😂
😂😂 I noticed that and wondered if anyone else caught that!😅
😂😂I noticed that and wondered if anyone else would!!😅
Leave it up, one less thing to do at Christmas.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the cuteness that is Frank? 😍
we dont get enough Frank anymore!
Leo is really figuring out how to pronounce words. And, Trent, when your very pregnant wife asks for a sun canopy, the correct response is “How big?”
Jennifer and Leo's relationship makes me smile. He obviously adores here and vise versa. you couldn't have found a better person to help raise your boys!!
As this is filmed two weeks ahead[!] I guess the baby has arrived! Hope all is well!
Having a second baby will be easier than the first for most mothers, Allie, but for you it'll be, 'cuz of your experience and laid back attitude. Plus, you have Jennifer helping you, she's a super-Nanny, so don't forget to lean on her when you need to, okay? With her around, Leo's in good hands, so I have no doubt that he'll adjust to his new baby brother just fine. You'll likely enjoy this second time around experience even more because of all that!
Allie, how about you take this week to get ready to have a baby? Thanks to Jennifer. 💕 Please let her take the lead at home when the baby arrives, and with Leo, & meals. A helper person to clean the house once a week, run errands, & do laundry for the first month or two would be smart and you’ll appreciate it. (Don’t forget a newborn eats every few hours all night too.) 😘🫶🤱- Prayers for a safe, and easy delivery.
PS: Allie, please know we don’t expect video every day! Your time will be focused on you, breastfeeding, new baby, Leo, and Daddy 😘❤️💜❤️🩷🌷🙏🤱YOU are our priority. We love you, blessings. XO!
Totally agree
I couldn't live with so many unfinished projects, I'd lose my mind. Can't wait to see it finished! Excited for the new baby coming.
Me either Debbie,,seems so unorganized with EVERYTHING GOING ON,,,,,,AND CARING FOR A NEWBORN….this whole build and now unbuild is crazy….Cant wait to see the new little one….
That's why they bought the house in the valley. A clean, quiet environment for her & baby to be close to all the family and friends so it's convenient for them to pop in and assist.
I wish I would have had all the extra help, how lucky she is.
Lucky little Leo is living every little boy's dream by getting to ride in an excavator so often. So glad that Trent gives Leo this wonderful experience ☺️!
All that effort to remove windows and tie in at a ridiculous 3/12 slope in a snow zone is a mistake. I've never disagreed with your plans, even not knowing what was next but this is a mistake. The deck roof should start at the top of the wall, cut your original roof back and tie in with the roof joists. Leave the windows and that roof slope could be at least 6/12 for snow load. I would even box in part of the end wall but nothing wrong with lots of ceiling height. Longtime construction engineer giving advice here.
Leo saying he wants to help DaDa in the excavator gives me all the feels. I adore that little guy. 😊😊😊
I "helped" my Dad drive the car when little -- to this day the garage sits kaddywompus on the foundation from being pushed forward when I stood on the accelerator! 😂 Oopsie 😮
1:20 Don't build a standard pitched roof over the porch, 3/12, just continue the side room height around to the porch. Move the new intersecting ridge to the corner of the house, extend the side room roof and tie the porch roof rafters into it and that will create a custom pitch for the porch. By doing that, you can figure out the height of the new windows now and get them ordered. Put Lexan over the upper windows instead of plywood. Consider the velocity and weight of the snow sliding off the house roof as it impacts the porch roof.
They won’t listen. Never have never will. They are committed to doing everything the hardest way possible.
Hey JB, you sound like you know what you're talking about! After I suggest easier steps, I realize T&A are 2 and sometimes up to 4 weeks sometimes, behind real time. I imagine the baby is here already and posts are already standing for the new deck....but you REALLY sound like you know what you're talking about!!😂
@thomastimothy777 By the time you post your well-informed opinions that youtubers never have and never will listen to, they are at least 3 weeks further along.
@@buddy774 even so, they never listen or learn AT ALL. Their water lines have frozen in the motor home, garage and house like 8 times. How is that even possible? At least their constant failures are entertaining.
@@Charlotte-bn4gp maybe the baby is already walking 😂😂
Leo is the cutest. Dinosaur hair was so adorable!
Wow! I'm super excited to see the plans for the roof for the front porch. That's lots of figuring and work, but it's going to save work and wear and tear in the future. I'm shocked that all the siding has to come off, but I know very little about such things! Y'all have sure moved quickly on all this!!! And what a treat, the yummy looking food!!! That was so special! Gifts like that are gold!!!
I have to also observe that I can see the baby has dropped a bit. Won't be long now!!! ❤
Remember Trent...if ya think ya need a hundred, order a hundred and ten. Wow...this is huge. The rendering of the house looks amazing. Any day now, Allie!
Trent don’t be afraid to ask for help. Especially with all the measuring you need to do. Check your measurements more than one time. House will be beautiful when it’s done.
Baby first... Oh my gosh, my heart sinks seeing all the hard work being undone and siding going into the skip... I know it has to be done... Your doing well boys.... and I love that Trent admits he has no idea what he is doing, but is still diving in head first! Cheers for sharing...
An easy & refreshing snack when it's hot is frozen grapes. I remove them from the stems, wash them & dump them in a baggie while they're still wet. Choose a favorite flavor of sugar free jello mix & dump it in the baggie with the grapes - we usually do red grapes with raspberry jello crystals. Shake well to coat all the grapes & then toss in the freezer until the grapes are frozen. We pull put a few - or a lot! - to snack on & it's a treat.
Frozen grapes are the BOMB!! I like the white seedless grape frozen plain. Especially at the beach!! Have never tried sugar coating them 🤔
"Allie is actually busy right now" I've watched this channel for 4 years and I can't recall when Allie has ever missed a sign-off...Perhaps she was busy being in labour?
Thinking the same😮😊
My thoughts exactly!
Yes, I thot that to be quite unusual too. Hmmmm...
would Trent be at home in that case?
@@fredrikg120 - sure, when she's in the early stages.
Leo living his best life! ♥ That lil guy makes us soooo happy and heartful
You got this Allie💕🙏. I don’t ever think Allie was too busy to sign off?❤🙏🙏Blessing’s
your house is now officially a puzzle!!!! you should sell THAT puzzle!!people can feel a part of your doing/undoing of your home.
Leo is so so cute. "I want to help him" just wants to be with the big guys. Leo, you do a great job of helping!
My mother used to say "Finish one project before starting another!" Hmmmm.... garage, casita, stairs/landing to casita, man cave, addition, bathrooms.......and now ripping apart main house.
I know Leo is just a little one; but, seeing him next to Dad then the excavator in a wide shot---brought that fact home!
I forget that he's just 2 or 3.
I can't remember his age.
He's really coming into his own with so much personality. The spikey dinosaur🦖 hair was awesome!
Leo’s haircut is awesome! What a handsome boy.
I live in the San Francisco east bay area. It has been 97 to 100 degrees for the last month, and it's going to continue. The only saving grace is we don't have any horrible humidity.
93° in NC and the humidity is TERRIBLE!! Headaches and drained and it's gonna be a that way all week😢 Heading to the river with my grandson tomorrow and escape this steam pot!😂
I am starting to think Trent’s favourite saying is “ I have no idea what I am doing “ 😅😂😅😂😂
OMGosh, can Leo get any more cute? What a sweet little man. 🥰
Man, all of that siding would look great on a tiny house.... lol. Love you guys. It's looking great!
I've heard a hot tip about a way to keep flies off the deck is to paint the overhang roof underneath a blue color. I'm looking forward to the finished wrap around deck and roof, it's going to be so wonderful for summer shade and in the winter will keep snow off. Trents going to love not having to snow blow that area I bet.
Ditto Allie not having to snow blow either!!
The pupusas looked delicious. The wrap around deck and roofing is going to be great for summer and winter 👏🏼❤️
Allie praying for a safe delivery and a speedy recovery for you and baby can't wait for that video Leo will be a good big brother it's heart broken to see the house constantly demolish but it's coming along beautifully
Excited to hear about the new baby’s arrival! Hoping it’s much smoother this time than. What you all went through with Leo. Also, re other nasty comments…start as many projects as you want, how as much Leo as you want…I’m here for it. 😀
I did not see any sort of niche in the showers. They are so super handy to store materials. I always build in the sub-structure for potential grab bars in the bathrooms I build...
You all are so awesome! I am amazed at your building skills. Even when things aren’t exactly perfect you always find a way to make it work.
Looks like you need a metal door kick plate for your front door, it should take all the abuse the door is currently getting, quite well.
Oooo Allie NEVER misses a sign off! She must be busy having the baby I think! C'mon baby brother!
Think she was in early labor and packing for the trip to the delivery? That would explain Trent still being there...
Why didn't Trent just take off the siding where the ledger board would go, leave the rest, and make individual cutouts for the windows(like balconies) as a fire escape from the second floor and onto the new roof?
It would be cheaper to pay a master carpenter who can take lead on this project. I mean they’re paying 2 guys and the 3 of them don’t really know what they’re doing. Pay a carpenter vs pay the 2 guys who, like Trent, don’t know what to do. Wishing them the best of luck, they’’re going to need it. Can’t wait to see the new baby.
Put a small bath towel in cold water, wring it out and wrap it around your neck until the towel is dry, rinse and repeat!
I keep a stack of them rotating in the freezer during heat waves when I'm working outside. Simple and effective.
It's not being closer to the sun that makes it feel so hot since that distance is not doing much. It's the less atmosphere above you that will not scatter the light as much as it does at lower elevation.
I live in Yuma AZ and we are at 141’ elevation and I just went to Flagstaff to escape the 100 temperatures. The elevation is 7000 and when I arrived it was 78 degrees and it felt amazing and cool. So I don’t understand how higher elevation feels warmer theory?
You can use aloe gel to spike toddlers’ hair. It’s super gentle and washes out easily.
I don't understand why you have to remove all the siding. Can someone please explain. I get removing the windows but I'm so confused.
Just a guess....changing colors of entire home.
read some of the other comments on this site. you are not alone.
Wire the porch roof for a ceiling fan with light
I would a couple ceiling fans and a mister along the roof line for cooling in your hot simmers.
No Allie lol, it's because you're in thinner air not because you're nearer to the sun.❤
🤣🤣🤣
Allie, the Baby will come after deck is finished, sorry.
He is growing big and strong. He will be an easy baby, eat, sleep, and poop. No worries.
Trent, I feel your pain. Trying to build your own house. Step back a moment to see ALL that YOU have accomplished.
Pretty amazing, huh? You got this.
I recon baby 2 has already arrived...
@@maurabradley6484 , and hopefully living comfortably in the valley. The guys can go up during the day to work on the house. Allie will have Jennifer and maybe her dad around.
Wow I can’t wait to see it all finished guys. It’s so exciting to see the finished product thanks for that. I feel like you probably have a little baby boy by now but if not I am sending you the best of wishes for an easy birth and healthy and happy baby boy. Can’t wait for our Friday to see what the week has brought, good luck and many blessings wished for you all ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hopefully you guys are staying hydrated and safe from the heat today . We are under a heat advisory today . Summer is definitely here. ❤ Leo is such a a cute pie and so sweet and loving . I love it the way Leo stays with Jennifer . ❤
Allie and Trent what a wonderful job you are doing with Leo and his please and thank you. He is so polite. Great work on the house this week. I am anxiously waiting for baby 2 announcement.
I thought they may do a "live" vlog to introduce Leslie but the suspense has us drawn to the expectation of the arrival!!😂 We'll all be back Friday, waiting to meet John Wayne!!!😅
Holy Moly, I thought the porch roof was a simple thing! Sending good vibes for lots of brain power
it would be for normal people lol
WHY, why, why...... if you are going so far as to taking the front windows out and changing them anyway.... why would you not go ahead and use the same pitch line for the front and side roofs?
What an effort! Must be a nightmare for Ally ripping the house apart instead building a nest... but it will make the building funktion much better in the end!
All the BEST for house and people!
Mercy me….I can appreciate how you need to make the most of the building summer, but that deck roof sure looks daunting! 😳. Leo looks so cute with his new big boy haircut! Allie, hope the baby comes soon so you are more comfortable. Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
From a family of construction workers their job was always to correct the architects plans. Much rather have sun shine and not snow.
Thank you Trent for adding the Audios for Allie. Hope these last days of the pregnancy go well.
Why change the upper windows. Not make pockets in the porch roof? Heat the pockets for snow melt. Then you never loos light to the upper level of the home.
Am I the only one totally confused by all this? ? ? Ya'll say you've had the drawings and permits for this project for quite a while . . . yet . . . you have to tear the whole house apart including the windows, roof, and all the siding. Sure looks like you have totally changed your plans. Can't believe you intended from the git-go to do all this tearing apart. Anyway . . . I guess I'll find out as I continue to watch each episode. A real joy to watch Leo grow so fast and try new foods . . . and really enjoy them.
You're not the only one. It's not easy to watch the destruction of what was just built a couple of years ago. It seems that all of this could have been avoided if the deck was at least planned for in the initial build. I'm trying not to be negative but, too much time, effort and expense has been spent in building, deconstructing and remodeling the various aspects of this home.
Yes, and so much is going in the landfill. And if the plans are done why doesn’t Trent know the size of the new windows?
The drawings don’t include the actual “math” so he’s having to figure that part out himself. Maybe i understand better because i craft and sew but i can have the visual of how i want to create something without a blueprint of how im going to do it. It takes a lot of thinking and experimenting to get the result I want
So the plans for the roof over the deck were created sometime last year when they also planned the addition in the back. The concrete footings for it were poured the same time the foundation for the addition and the deck for the Casita were done.
I think they originally didn't plan to cover the deck, but the intense sun and overwhelming snow removal convinced them it was needed.
@@89goddessgirldrawings have dimensions on them that shows how it is to be constructed. It seems as though they are not following in initial design intent.
Wow you are ripping the house apart as much as you are building. Leo is so cute .
I'm so glad you two found each other ( all those years ago, now!). I have such fun with one of my digital friends and all the families. I cry a little and sigh a little and even die a little. What? Too hot. Resilience is the word. Take care. 💕
All we can say from our house to yours is WOW! The work that you guys are doing is outstanding. I'm not sure that I could do it and you guys are making it look simple. Now you guys are starting a major change on your house and it's going to be interesting how you accomplish it and see it through to completion. Thanks for sharing everything including that wonderful food! Leo is turning into a very wonderful young man and he is a very polite! And seeing him work with Trent is outstanding! Thanks again guys we love you!
If you’re going to tear the house apart this much for a roof on your deck you might as well tear the small roof off and do it all properly or else it’s just gonna look weird. You can always just put a roof on top of that roof to match the two angles.
🤔Now that is another great suggestion...wonder if it would pass code?
The relationship that Leo has with his Auntie is priceless. They are so close. Leo is going to be an awesome big brother.
This! It's so beautiful.❤
His Aunt has really brought such joy to Leo. They are so cute together.
Since you removed the siding on the sunroom, why not put the same color as the rest of the house. It would look more uniform with the new addition.
So fun to watch the progress happening and excited to see when baby will make his entry into the world.
I love watching Trent talk without sounds. His CSL (Carpenter Sign Language) is so expressive.😂😂❤
WOW! What a mess to get an amazing roof. I don’t know how Trent knows so much about doing all he does.
Why not tape 1, 2, or even 3 layers of clear plastic or vapour barrier over those windows to admit light? A backup plywood or particle board sheet could be a temporary backup/protector if there is a storm forecast. This would keep out excessive heat and/or humidity.
I don’t understand why you have to take off the entire front of your house for roof on the deck. You may have explained it and I just missed it.
I think that the roof will hit the face of the house where the windows currently are. Ally mentioned having to take the windows off the top floor and ordering new ones.
I thought the same but what do I know?....just enough to survive😂😂
You guys are doing a GREAT job. I admire each of you. Grayson you have your mommas beautiful smile. You are so handsome and hard worker, Brandon your an incredible man,a devoted friend and such a skilled worker.Trent words can not describe the admiration I have for you and Allie. God continue his blessing on your family and friends.
That's going to be a beautiful wrap around porch!!
The two roofs will be very useful in winter but you’ll loose light inside the house.🇫🇷
The destruction of the front of the house is heartbreaking to watch. When Trent says things like he isn't sure about what will work it makes me very nervous for them. I just wish it was finished.
I look forward to every video. I am excited for the baby to come, Leo is so adorable, all that worrying about when he would talk.needless. Leo seems to enjoy learning. He is want smart kiddo.
I didn't realize how attached I was to hearing Allie say 'adios' until it didn't happen today.
Do you think she’s in labor? 😆
😂 I do 🧸🧷🎁🍼🤗🎇YAY!!!🍼🧸🧷🎁
I used to live in Conifer Colorado, at elevation 9500' and yes the sun is more intense at altitude. But, I now live in Mesa Arizona, and I don't care what anyone says, Dry Heat or not, August in Phoenix is "Scorching Hot", but on the bright side, we never have to shovel sunshine!!! 🌞♨😎
Good Job T taking up the ending for A!!! Without her ending the show is not right!!! Love ya guys!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
Do you have a re sell building material facility out there? Looking at the siding and roof you are putting in that dumpster is heart breaking..someone could re use all of that?
It's been mentioned before by me Nd others with in this and earlier episodes.
Leo looks so grown up with his hair cut, so cute🇫🇷
Hi guys.I think LEO is going to be just like his dad ❤ knows a lot about everything. Trent knows a lot about stuff. and very good at it.I always enjoy watching you guys awesome family.
Jennifer ( Agaga) is amazing! What a gracious kind soul! Lucky Leo to get to spend time with her!
It's just so cute, Leo helping dad.
Trent is such a good father.
I hope you didn’t hurt your back taking that concrete out. Rent a Jack Hammer next time to spare your back. Rest easy this wknd. 😊😊😊💕💕💕🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg yes, my shoulders and wrists hurt with every blow of that sledge.
It's quite remarkable the progress you all have made in just a few years. Very cool... Congratulations
The effort of building the deck will be paid back for years to come every time you don't have to clear 3' of snow off the front.
I believe the dry wall will get finished first. Thanks for sharing your challenges and your tenacity, a silent learning tool for Leo.
I absolutely love you guys, but the way you jump from one unfinished project to the next just kills my OCD nature. Why not finish the deck and stairs on the casita before you move on to starting the demolition of the siding on the front of the house? I know you save the interior stuff for colder weather, and that makes sense. I know this is a me thing, and it probably doesn't bother anyone else.
They LIVE in the house and want to not have to snow blow the porch every day in the winter before they can start their day! The rest can wait....and wait
also ADHD minds tend to hop from one project to another to another
eventually they all get done
or not 😂
You have issues, they don't. Noone cares about your OCD nature. Don't be a buzz killer. Just enjoy their progress. Life is good! Enjoy! Find the joy in it. Laugh more😂Smile more😅😅
Omg hang though old looking soooo gor
I understand the need to work outside during short summer months, but it appears very disorganized. I'm guessing the casita landing had priority to be able to get materials up there.
I don't understand timing of digging around the main entrance just days before she goes into labor. Now she'll have to walk all the way around the house to get to the truck while having contractions.
Daww Leo the dinosaurs. Taking my 4 year old for her first hair cut tomorrow 🥹
You guys never stop! It unfortunate that the pitches did not match for you but a wraparound roof will be your answer. Your patio will so much more enjoyable. Top notch work as always.
🤣🤣 Leo try it? “No” then when his aunt says it’s good…. “Bite!!”🤣🤣🌟❤️
Had to confirm and look this up, “At higher altitudes, the atmosphere also thins, making the sun rays more powerful” - I’m sure it feels closer to the sun though. 😂
Yes. Also, the official temps are not taken in direct sunlight. That's why the bank sign temp is often 30 degrees higher. But Trent is too busy correcting his pregnant wife to think about why that might be the case.
Skylights as well. It will make those gloomy winter days so much better. I have several and can’t imagine my winter’s without them ☀️ Never had a leak and i can open them as well since they have a screen during the other seasons.
How much of a snow load would a skylight be able to hold though?
@@birgithall8800 same amount as my roof holds which is quite a bit and is the first place it melts from the sun reflection
Love Leo's haircut. You all are back tracking to get the porch on!
Ali&Trent, I love how you appreciate and really South American cultures and the people you encounter from those countries! Viva!❤!
You are doing a great job, but why don't you finish one project before you start another one?
Allie, if I were you I'd stay inside! I know you need to film, I'd have a tank top and shorts on! Someone please yank that winter/Christmas wreath off the Sunroom door??!!

Aww the Dinosaur hair just adorable 🫶
I am so confused about why you’re taking the whole side of your house off and the windows
Everybody is.. not much common sense....
@@ednaselm it seems that they keep changing their mind then finally realize what it costs to do and how much work it is. not sure what makes them decide what to finally do. to me, they waste too much $$$. with a family - I feel this is not good.
The architectural drawings are amazing!
It is far easier to establish a window dimension, order the window, then build the rough-opening to the window that is on its way
Keep the same roof pich on the deck as the sun room to make it easy.
