I seen the whole live action DBZ movies. There are 4 of them. One with Goku vs the saiyans on earth with Piccolo, 2nd movie with freeza vs an all out war with the Nameks on Namek for the Dragonballs, and the 3rd movie with Cell and androids vs humans, and a 4th with Majin Buu. All 4 movies were crazy with the best fight scenes, sound effects, and story line as if the anime was based off these movies. That Vegeta fight vs Recoom was crazy. I liked how it built up like a mediocre fight and then turned into and all-out brawl between them two. When Goku went super saiyan and freeza finally got his first damage was very emotional. I like how their fight was happening while the whole Namekian race was still alive and watching below and didn't get wished off the planet with Vegeta. I liked how Dr. Gero was initially trying to help and sell his android ideas to the world and he caused all that trouble because they knocked him and his ideas. I like when they showed Gohan fighting cell onehanded at the end with future Gohan's onehanded spirit as if that's what Trunks saw when he came back from unconsciousness and was watching Gohan vs cell just BLEW MY MIND!!. The Majin Buu movie at the end When Goku and Vegeta was fighting kid Buu and he was fighting like some lunatic demon thing with all that twisting and contorting with Kung FU was insane. When he was trying to eat Vegeta alive while fighting gave me chills. that was crazy. I like how everyone in afterlife was watching and cheering for them when they were loosing and stood up to fight some more even when they've given their all already. Everyone was like we're doomed but you guys are the greatest two ever. I watched each movie at least 10 times by now. These are easily the best action movies ever existing and nothing will probably top them. I feel sorry for all of you who can't watch it because all 4 movies only exist in my head.

This is clearly the case where such a title is best served as anime and manga than live action. youd think the conversion would be easy but the fact is. DB's characters as very much defined by the unique physical characteristics that bode over well in illustrated form. even when turned into 3d cell shaded characters, it only holds up when designed to emulate the source material. this is why no live action RUclips parody has truly been successful, and surely not any feature film attempt as real people simply dont have the features as toei's characatures.
I disagree. I feel the budget is the biggest factor for the RUclips side of it, Robot Underdog had their incredible live action look at the Cell saga, but they can't do that as a hobby. This trailer looks amazing and would absolutely work if someone who loves DragonBall held the creative freedom over the company funding it, similar to what Ryan Reynolds did with Deadpool. Keep it close enough to the source material and make sure the CGI team has enough time and money to make it top notch and you'll have a masterpiece on your hands that could last decades like the Marvel Cinematic Universe did. DragonBall has the right amount of action and humor to really capitalize on the market and popularity. Just because Evolution was awful doesn't mean we should give up. You either really hit the nail on the head, or you simply get an uncanny jarring responce. like Airbender. Its not a matter of all the other vfx. hell im a vfx artist myself, 30 years going.. and trust me. youl find a ton of great cgi replicaton of that 2d character but when it comes to live action few very few are acce[tible. not to mention you absolutely dont want the characters to look cheezy like powerrangers. which is exactly what majority of these fan made mockups looiklike.
It still could very well work if 75% fiction mixed with 25% reality where goku for instance is in cgi looking like us but still as goku and in realistic environments. 💯
The animation for this is great. The only thing that always gets me though. It's the faces. Like I know it is next to impossible to create the faces from the animated series because of their exaggerated features, but to me as they communicate and whatnot that's what makes them. I would love to watch this though. Also finding someone that damn fit and like absolutely no body fat at all I know is difficult as well lol
