Thank you so much. I use to have a very close friendship with a farmer family in Virginia, they were very dear to me. I used to help them to prepare bacon batches from their own porks, and apple butter as well, from scratch. And as an appreciation i got to take few batches with me. The butter was so delicious, they would even give me some more as a gift later on, just because. But now I live far from them and can’t have that fun time with them. I really miss VA and the kind of country life I used to have over there. Was searching how to make apple butter and found your video! This is beautifully made. I sent this to them and said I’ll definitely try making this myself. I hope you continue making delicious fun recipes.
Hi! I'm so glad you found my videos and channel. I hope you have a chance to enjoy some delicious apple butter again soon. Moving away from our loved ones is always tough! My family lives in a different state, too. Otherwise, they would get all the food from my channel!
Hiiii! I came back to say I made this and WOW! Soooo yummy! We had to replace the sugar with 3Tbsp of honey to make it almost sugar free, but still turned out amazing! Thanks for the recipe! ❤️
Just made this recipe! My husband loved it! We buy $14 worth jars of apple butter in stores (specifically lamberts in alabama) and this recipe made 1 quart and it only costed me $6-$7 to make it! Very worth it! Just adjusted mine with 1/4 cup more of sugar because the granny smith apples were alittle bit more tangy to our liking. But very delicious! ❤️
Made this per special request ...it's sooo easy and absolutely delicious! Much better than the crock-pot version in my opinion. The only thing I had to do differently was cook longer stirring continuously. I will be saving this one! Ohhhh, the aroma!
Hi Tatyana, my name is Sabine and I live in Toronto, Canada. I just made the apple butter and it is insanely delicious. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. Sabine.
I wanted to tell you that your beef stew is one of my favorite recipes I have ever cooked. It's the best beef stew ever, for real when you said best beef stew you meant that cause it's amazing.. I don't know why I haven't tried any of your other recipes if I love that recipe so much but I'm excited to try this and a few dessert recipes soon. Thanks again.
That's so wonderful to hear! I'm very happy you enjoyed the stew! It's a favorite of mine and the only recipe I ever use! I hope you enjoy my other recipes, too! :)
Oh my god, i love it. I always loved apple butter but never found the right recipe. And now, it's the time to do this. Thank you Tatyana for sharring.! You're the best. Love you.

Besides the best beef stew recipe which me and my family loves. Love this apple butter recipe too. Very delish! I had on hand were the Gala apples, but still came out great. Love the vinegar added to it and it is not to sweet. Since I watched your video I have been making it. My husband loves it everytime and he is always waiting for me to make more. Thank you! 😊❤
Looks great! Quick question though... I'm very sensitive to the taste of vinegar and this recipe has a lot of apple cider vinegar in it. Does the taste cook off or the vinegar flavor remain?
Hi! Thank you! :) You will have a little bit of the flavor left over. You can replace it with apple cider or apple juice instead. The juice will make for a sweeter apple butter though. If you want to, you can reduce the sugar in half when using juice :)
It will keep well in the fridge for a few weeks if the jar is sealed. You can take an extra step and properly can the jars, too. Submerge in hot water and boil for 15 minutes.
Awesome ~ Homemade Apple Butter ~ On buttered homemade bread... toast is BLISS 💚🙋💌 ~ Your recipe has good , healing ingredients ~ My grandmother made a mixture of white & dark sugar.
Hi Debra! If you're making it like in my video, you will need to store it in the refrigerator. You'll need to take an extra step and actually preserve the cans before storing in the pantry.
Used to make Applebutter with my grandmother. First we collected about 100 bushel baskets full of apples from my great grandfather farm Next we peeled, cored and sliced all the apples and the froze them Finally on the day of, we started about 6am and built a fire with a 200 gallon copper kettle suspended We kept the fire stoked all day long, dumping in bag after bag of frozen apple as they broke down using a wooden paddle to stir. About 12 hours later, the spices were added, nutmeg, pure cinnamon oil and gelatin. We the spooned the mix into mason jars and canned the whole pot.
I love apple butter! My favorite way of eating it, since I was a kid, is mixed in with biscuits and gravy! Sounds awful and looks disgusting but is sooooo delicious!
This seems like a great way to extend the life of uneaten apples... with that being said; can applesauce be used instead of uneaten apples, extending the life of applesauce even further by making it a spread instead of the side item or snack? Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Hi there, I've just made your recipe and it tastes really nice. Is it meant to taste quite vinegary? Also, how do you know when it is ready to put into jars? Does it firm up a bit when it cools?
Hi! I'm so glad you enjoyed the apple butter. It shouldn't be too vinegary. If it is, try adding more sugar to balance the flavor. Some apples are sweeter than others. It will firm up a bit but not much. You can place into glass jars right away, or into plastic jars once the apple butter has cooled.
@@TatyanasEverydayFood Thank you so much for replying, I wasn't sure I was going to hear back from you. Next time I will put in less vinegar, as I didn't put the full amount of sugar in and even that felt too sweet for me. Thanks again for a lovely video and for replying

can this be canned to store on a shelf?
Yes! You'll want to follow standard canning method by sanitizing the jars and lids, then boiling the jars.
Nice lush hair tats, complements the butter
That looks good asf
Looks yum yum...can I add brown sugar instead of white sugar for more eartthy flavour
I didn't add brown sugar because it burns very quickly. You can add it but you'll need to cook the apple butter on a super low temp to avoid burning the sugar, which can make the butter bitter.
How long is this generally good for, kept refridgerated? I'd love to make this for ourselves and to share with friends and family, but would love to write a "best by" date on the lid. 😊

How long will the apple butter stay good in the refrigerator?

Do you think you could use this in a cake recipe? I'm thinking a caramel cake with this spread thinly on top of the buttercream?
Absolutely!! :) I have a caramel apple cake with this apple butter coming Friday! :)
What other kinds of pots can you use to cook down the apples?
A stainless steel pot will also work well
@@TatyanasEverydayFood thank you 😊
Have you ever done this or a similar butter with maple syrup?
Hi! No, I personally haven't tried using maple syrup. It might work though; just keep the heat low to prevent the syrup from burning.
This looks & sounds lovely, but why is it called apple butter? In the UK, some of us call this apple sauce or pureed apples.
Thank you! It's quite a bit thicker than regular apple sauce, less liquid and more concentrated in flavor.
Can you use brown sugar?
What happens if you put a little bit of actual butter in it?
I recommend using white sugar. Brown sugar will burn and cause the apple butter to burn, too.
Sure, a bit of butter at the very end won't hurt. Enjoy!
How long is it good for in the fridge?
If you keep the jar closed, it should last for a few weeks.
What do mean by all spice powder. Can you please tell us what are the spice ingredients in that powder because you are already adding cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg separately. That is why I want to know what is the all spice.
Hi! Sorry for the confusion! All-spice is actually a type of peppery spice, it's a spice all on its own. It's also called pimento or Jamaica pepper.
@@TatyanasEverydayFood oh, Thank you so much.
I think that we here in South India can substitute if with any pepper variety that's available.
