Not surprising, Bruce was a good friend on top of being a great martial artist. When good people make a positive impact on your life, you never forget them.
Chuck Norris was respectful and honorable. There is no need to establish some hierarchy or for Chuck to show unnatural deference. Bruce Lee was a master martial artist, without doubt. Chuck Norris is a master martial artist, without doubt. They were friends and they showed each other respect. Perhaps we should all just do the same.
Chuck is a living legend.. His association with Bruce Lee is so surreal..Bruce Lee legacy is stratospherical and to have Chuck, after all these years, share us his fond memories with Bruce, is such a blessing...
Bruce was already good at high kicks before he met Chuck because he and Jhoon Rhee were learning from each other in 1964. When u see that old screen test that Bruce made he was demonstrating high kicks in that. U don't throw kicks that well unless ur practicing them.
yeah thats the misconception. Lots think he didnt know how to kick high, where as, he just felt that a more effective kick would be a low kick ...e.g kick to the groin...much quicker as it's almost a snap, than a head kick/knife edge kick to sternum, even spinning heel kick. As the great man himself says, you take what is useful and discard the rest....or it put it another way, do what works for you. It'll take loads of practise to do a high kick that is powerful, fast and catches your opponent off guard, where as anyone can do a quick kick to the groin (something most non Martial Art folks cant or dont know how to defend against). Groins kicks have been practised by every guy on the planet, from school boy fights onwards...everyone has done it, and everyone has had it done to them...thats why the 'unwritten' rule of street fights is not to kick to the groin as it's considered off limits...problem is, with more and more people having the 'pack' mentality, the days of a fair one on one fight are long gone...so now anything goes. One caveat to all this is, no matter how much training we have, we have no idea what the other guy is brining - he may he faster, stronger, have a knife, gun, or 4 mates just around the corner waiting to jump...so, only fight when there really is no other option. Stay safe one and all 🙏
chuck is the guy who still won’t admit his skill has improved since learning from Bruce. Joe lewis mentioned after learning from Bruce that his fighting was improved drastically.
Bruce Lee was very, very accurate with his kicks and punches , especially in blocking his challengers with tremendous speed he had great philosophy in martial arts. ...
Yes a hear from his students things like he was the closest thing to a magician and he had a sixth sense and he always knew when you weren't ready and could look right through you also to see what you was lacking. And if anyone blacked his punches it would hurt because his firearms were really hard.
From time to time , he would accidentally hit the support members , like Jackie Chan . He was slightly nearsighted . He felt terrible accidentally hitting Jackie Chan during Enter The Dragon .
He was not a natural talent ! He made it look natural by hard work and focus! we all have that capability on any field you put your mind , heart and soul to it! Thanks for the comment.
But...chuck competed. It's literally like a dude making trick shots on RUclips then 30 years later everybody says the dude was the best player in the NBA. Then, why didn't that guy show it in the NBA?
hes lying about bruce lee kicking below the weist and not kicking high because bruce lee used to kick high before he met chuck norris like in green hornet he was kicking high and also in the screen test
Joe Lewis was asked by a reporter about the sparring between Chuck and Bruce. Joe answered the question ____In 1968, Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris had a gentle sparring session in which Chuck Norris was left red-faced. I guess this means that he lost the sparring and was embarrassed. Bruce.Lee was an actor and a student - - - MASTER He was a great teacher.Jeet Kune Do, he taught me how to fight in full contact, as we always sparred in full contact at my request, it was side kicks, they were dangerous and deadly.
He needs to check Bruce Lees audition for Green Hornet .. where he actually kicks high and explained why.... 1964! Years before he met Chuck.. every schmuck claims he taught Bruce something.. Bruce definitely may have learned from them , but that’s not necessarily them teaching him.
He missed or messed up the quote in the conversation regarding The Way of the Dragon fight scene where Chuck says to Bruce, " Oh you want to fight the World Champ" and Bruce responds, "no I want to kill the World Champ".
For whatever reason he said they never sparred. Then he said the sparring was fun. Then he said bruce was a formidable opponent. Who knows why he contradicts himself in other interviews. Maybe he got the better of bruce or maybe bruce got the better of him?
Lelong Pham he’s extremely bitter and jealous that he never got the recognition, fame or legacy that Bruce achieved. It’s really fucked up when you think they were friends but since Bruce passed Chuck has said almost nothing about how good he was. It’s very odd. Everyone else who sparred and new Bruce has said nothing but how gifted he was, but not Chuck. As a friend I think what Chuck has done is the ultimate betrayal to be honest. Can you imagine a guy who holds no official belt rank making you look like an amateur? Not just Chuck, but pretty much everyone who tried testing him. It must be beyond demoralising.
Exactly why keep going. There are old news paper articles specifying that Chuck was a student of Bruce's along with Joe Lewis and a couple of others top fighters that became champs after training with Bruce. Chuck has to big of an ego.
Why must Chuck keep telling this lie. Bruce was kicking high long before he met Chuck and gave him his start in movies. Instead of being grateful, he feels the need to one up Bruce by telling a lie. Shame on you Chuck.
Chuck is still a good friend of Bruce, he was the only one who directly told Bruce to slow down when Bruce reached stardom because he working too hard. I think Chuck was right about why Bruce died, over work and bad medication like Micheal Jackson.
@@vgus15 Bruce can be seen kicking high in many videos before he ever met Chuck, to say that Bruce didn't believe in what he was already doing is nonsense.
There are some holes in Chucks statements, like “Bruce Lee believed only in kicking below waist”, there is footage from that seminar where Bruce met Chuck and he showing there kick to the head coincidentally on Chuck in better form and faster then you ever seen Chuck did it, I mean you can see in term of coordination and execute of kicks, Chuck was never even close to Bruce. And about sparing, Jim Kelly trained with Bruce, he know who he sparred with but he respect those guys so he didnt tell their names but Bruce make them look like begginers. I never liked Chuck Norris to much I think he build his career thanks to Bruce and never told full truth about how good Bruce realy was.
Bruce's whole ethos was to do what needed to be done to finish the fight as quickly as possible. It's not that Bruce never kicks to the head, its because a kick to the groin is much quicker and more effective 😊🙏
I think what Chuck Norris says in the video he had already mentioned many times in different occasions. IMO, Norris always wants to the public that Bruce was NOT his teacher but his training partner and good friend. In additional, Bruce Lee is a good martial artist, but Chuck himself is a world champion. However, there are many other people knowing Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris well state that Bruce did teach many more martial art skills and training method to Chuck than what Chuck taught Bruce. Even Chuck Norris on a audio (you can find that at youtube) personally admit that "no one could beat Bruce".
Jim Kelly said on interview that Bruce beat many great martial artists but never say their names because of respect etc. I think he was also meaning chuck norris is on that list. Jim Kelly said he know who those were.
I at least think they were competitive. In an audio recording Bruce said he instructed them like an adult would instruct a child lol I'm sure that didn't go well with him because although chuck is a super nice guy and he is legit, he was obviously an intense competitor
I watch Chuck Norris and see how sluggish he is, fake and inept in his punches until he hurts my eyes. You can't watch it, I don't understand how people could get excited about it
@@HardKore5250 Bruce trained it very intensive, while Chuck trained for the sport of point Karate. Bruce movement were flowing and effective. Sorry for put your idol down, but truth is truth.
Personally, I think that Mr. Norris was jealous of Bruce Lee. And I still believe that if the two of them were to have an all out fight, Bruce would have been the victor. Just my opinion.
Think 75% of the Mankind believe Bruce Lee Win ! Bruce was in all better then Chuck Norris ! The others are Chuck Norris fans that mixed truths with Chuck Norris facts.
Look up the letter Chuck wrote to Bruce in Hong Kong, apologising about his article in Black Belt Magazine. The kicking below the waist is bollocks, look at the original Long Beach demonstration and the high kicks Bruce is doing, before he knew Chuck. Chuck Norris is a respected Martial Artist but he still puts Bruce Lee down as none fighter because he didn't compete, but Chuck Norris wouldn't have the career he has had if it wasn't for Bruce Lee's impact on the world. He should listen to James DeMile and Dan Inosanto interviews on Bruce's fights.
Chuck was all balls. Bruce finished him off many times in sparring. Dont even compare Brue with Chuck. Its like comparing Cowdung with a Diamond. Bruce was and is always the shining Diamond
Your talking Shite Dude How do you know. Personally i Think Chuck would easily beat Bruce. Huge Size Difference. Watch MMA theres zero chance a 190 lbs whos a World Champ loses to a 140 lb 5 7 guy. Come On !!!
Look at Chuck Norris at 80+.age vs physique.i see a bar set beyond high... who else is getting to 80 in that shape.then I suddenly have intruding thoughts ...( i am kicking with all my might as I conclude my comment..) Bruce was great. Chuck is great. Merry Christmas 2020 all you good people
Chuck probably got asked about Bruce in person so much that he started to make up a lie to make himself look good in front of his fans. It's okay to admit you are not better than the best.
Chuck puts himself at the center of everything. Lee had long since studied Northern kicks before he met Norris. Heck, you can see him high kicking in The Green Hornet.
How come chuck never mentioned all the sparring sessions they did. There had to be some sparring in those 2 years. He always like to talk about him being a point fighting champion but avoiding those sparring sessions with Bruce at all cost. That's a little odd if you ask me.
He actually did once but it was more of a slip up comment and when asked about it he reverted back i will try find the video in question its only a few yeats ago .
Actually Joe Lewis was the first pick for the way of the Dragon. But Joe declined to do it. So he got Chuck to do it. Another fun fact about Chuck. Chuck Norris was also going to star in the American Ninja but Chuck refused to cover his face with the Ninja mask. Funny how ego's get in the way. There are reasons why Chuck won't go into detail about sparring with Bruce.. He lost..
Bruce still to be a LEGEND ... EVER ... What I got generally is that after one movie where both fight, Chuck became his student. or was trained by him. Anyway both of them amazing And BRUCE IS THE KING OF KUNG FU Heroes (* Wong Fei Hung ; Huo Yuanjia ; Yip Man *)
Chuck Norris would not even be that well known if it was not for Bruce Lee. At no time in Chuck's career does he ever acknowledge Lee's abilities above the norm. He has stated a number of things about Bruce Lee that are false. This man has lost all credibly with me.
That is not true. He said that Lee was an extremly good martial artist. But Chuck cannot say that Bruce was a very good fighter , because Bruce never had a real fight against a good opponent. Chuck said how it is. 👍
When Gene Labelle was talking about Bruce he said Carlos (Chuck) was sneaky. Considering Chuck is the only one to consistently down play Bruce's skills it sounds obvious what he meant by "sneaky"
@@junodonatus4906 I've heard Wall build himself up, but missed him downplaying Bruce. But yeah Joe and Chuck tried to build up their reputation over a dead man's body even though Lee was their teacher and not the other way around.
i’m glad im not the only one who sees this. an interview on chuck about bruce, chuck hesitate to show bruce props. Joe lewis admitted and said that “ I know how hard bruce hits, i got popped several times”
That was an unforgettable fight sene also, i dont remember every single move but i remember the most dramatic ones and i bet everyone is that is a Bruce Lee fan, Chuck also but that Bruce was just something else, i think everyone can agree on that.
This story is amazing! Chuck Norris is a real class act. My late Sensei used to train with him (Norris) back when they both fought in tournaments down in Georgia in the 70's. He told us that while a guy was holding a heavy bag, Chuck kicked it so hard that it knocked the guy clear across the room.
It seems that chuck norris is holding back on how good Bruce Lee's marital art was...but we all know. .. HE WILL ALWAYS BE KNOWN AS BRUCE LEE FAST BUT FURIOUS! ! !
Why was Chuck's fight scene with Bruce in Way of the Dragon arguably the greatest martial arts movie scene, and all the fights scenes from Chuck's other movies so sub par?
The truth is Chuckie Boy fucked up and in one section of the scene and drew blood and pissed Bruce off as he had a wicked temper and for the rest of the fight Chuckie boy was fighting for his life.I am a 70 year old Marine and had some training with Bruce and if you check out the movie enter the Dragon and watch the fight scene closely and when you see the blood watch Bruce's eye's.

Sorry but chuck is a liar. The producer of way of the dragon said himself, and its on RUclips with him saying it, that he asked chuck who would win in a real fight? Chuck said 'bruce would win... Nobody can beat him'

I always like Chuck Norris and now, after this video i like much more. Guy correct, respectable with Bruce Lee, your Friend and he respect this. Helped Bruce's sons become actors and good man for the Life. Great action for a human been. Yeah, he can command the Delta Force.
In a street fight would I advise kicking above the waist? No. Lee and Norris are both very fast at it, but the fact of the matter is, it’s an extremely vulnerable position. The leg is usually grabbed and the person taken down. Kicking below the waist (jeet tek, thai kick, savate kick to groin, oblique kick) allows you to quickly compose your balance and boxing footwork. Bruce’s deadliest move is the straight eyejab like a fencers strike. Easily the best attack to take down a large opponent but you will blind them for life. Any decent amount of damage to the eyeball is enough to drop someone to their knees, and when you have the footwork, speed, and power that Bruce had in his jab, you’re talking brain surgery with that thing! Also the move isn’t a “one trick pony” you can keep shooting it like a Sugar Ray Leonard jab but with fingers extended like a spear. I also feel that landing the eyejab is actually easier than landing a groin kick. What Chuck forgets as a Tournament Karate guy is the viciousness of street fighting with no ref to control it or separate you. Bruce’s style wasn’t to knock out his opponent or beat them on “points” - it was to kill them before they killed you! What you saw in Bruce’s movies is not how he would dispatch attackers in his home in the middle of the night. The movies were for him to show his flexibility and skill. A real altercation would probably be eyejab/straightblast/headbutts/knees and elbows. At mach 5. Watch his trapping technique in Enter the Dragon with “O’Hara” and replace the punches with eyejabs. It’s all in his book.
Bruce Lee descansa en paz, ya no lo jodan más, déjenlo descansar en paz. Ya vino, cumplió, trabajo, dió todo, dejémoslo ir por favor, descansar en paz, ya, es suficiente

He never said he taught him to do high leg kicks. He said they had a different philosophy on where you should kick. Calm down and use your listening comprehension skills.
The fact chuck has never admitted anything conclusive about sparring with Bruce. It's a shame. Especially as Bruce passed on. We all know Bruce whooped him though right?
Actually chuck Norris lied about telling Bruce to kick anywhere Bruce has been kick anywhere before chuck Norris “told him that” he really never did chuck just wanted credit not trying to hate on Norris cause he is one of my favorite fighters
Very interesting from 1967 until 1973 Chuck Norris was like Wow Bruce is Awesome but after he passed away Chuck was like well Bruce was just ok, Average not stupendous or great like his initial opinion;🙁 obviously Joe Lewis gleaned more from Bruce's teaching than Chuck did.
Joe grew tired of Bruce's teaching and philosophy because he wasn't getting anything from bruce he couldn't have gotten elsewhere through cross training. He admitted this.
The fight scene between the two in Colosseo in The Way of the Dragon is really amazing, isn't it? I think it's a famous scene that will go down in the history of action. Also, if Bruce Lee were alive, I would have liked to see a movie starring Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris.
Chuck was a points fighter. Bruce Lee could kick his ass in a real fight and Bruce did high kicks before you met him. Stop trying to live of his skill and ability.
Correct a lot of people are jealous I’m not sure if you know they have a real fight and he lost to Bruce and became his student and joe Lewis and others as well.
Bruce was a bantamweight, which is reserved for fighters weighing between 125-135 pounds. Chuck was a Middleweight, which is 185 lb - they would *never* have fought!
Yep, many seem to always want to discredit Bruce Lee.. cause he never 'competed'.. but his speed, agility, strenght, etc where far superior to most of these so called 'champions'.. Point fighting is nothing like real fighting, why Bruce never competed to begin with.. But apparently not competing in point tournaments means you cant fight.. being an actor also means you cant fight apparently.. Which is all but the truth.. 🤷🙄
Bruce was excellent at high kicks and any type of kick but he favored low kicks for a real situation. I use to study from Dan Inosanto at the Filipino Kali Academy on Normandie in Torrance Ca, many moons ago. I am 73 now. Dan used to say that and teach that quite often.
I feel for Chuck. He sparred with Bruce and was beaten badly. Anyone that performs their due diligence on google or youTube will learn this. Chuck Norris, Bob Wahl, Joe Lewis and many other Martial Art Champions were all students of Bruce Lee. Search in youTube for a video titled Jim Kellly talks about himself and Bruce Lee. You will be blown away. If I was Chuck Norris I would not admit what went down either as champions have huge egos and reputations to uphold.
Chuck said bruce was incredible but yet on the arsenio hall chuck SEEMED to downplay Bruce's awesomeness atleast that's how I perceived it. I believe bruce was more of a mentor to chuck than chuck was to bruce.
There wasn’t really anything Chuck could have taught Bruce, Bruce trained Chuck in his styles same as he trained joe Lewis , Mike stone, Kareem jabaar,
The fact of the matter is that when it comes to Bruce Lee fans if you talk about Bruce Lee as anything less than a god then you are disrespecting him. Chuck knew Bruce as a normal man and that's the problem that most Bruce Lee fans have.
Since Bruce Lee has never competed in person, it remains to be seen what he might have achieved,Bruce.Lee was not interested in sports competitions in karate,Lee was interested in fights on full contact. Jim Kelly, for example, suggested that many martial artists with whom he conducted training fights and sparring in full contact did not fully disclose their capabilities, because they wanted to protect their reputation and the reputation of their rivals. The sparring between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, after which the karate champion left "with a red and embarrassed face," was attended only by Richard Bustillo and a Los Angeles police officer. Chuck.Norris lost the sparring match.

Chuck would agree with you, as a matter of fact I would imagine Chuck knows better than most just how good Bruce truly was.
@P A Who the fuck even he
Bruce was already good at high kicks before he met Chuck because he and Jhoon Rhee were learning from each other in 1964.

Do you remember which live tv show that was? Would love to see! I think people out there know Chuck and Joe Lewis never admitted who got the better of them. Lewis said they never sparred, then told Stephen Thompson in secret, Bruce hit him the hardest
@@voiceoverandmocapguy
Sorry but that was decades ago . My memory is not that good yet your comment shows how fragile people’s ego are . Ali was a paper champion plenty of boxers had a better fighting record than Ali but you don’t hear their name mentioned is another example of the truth being buried away
@@robertrouse6403 Hahahahahahahhah
Freddie you have to be the most gullible person in the internet if you think Chuck did not lie. So with that in mind I am selling the Golden Gate Bridge fur 100.00 dollars send your money soon while it’s still available
It's difficult to know if they are always telling the truth because to speak badly of Bruce Lee would only upset his fans and ruin their popularity. I've heard others speak about Bruce Lee and by the way they talk about him I'm convinced they are telling the truth. The video or talk was short so Chuck could probably say more about Bruce Lee if he had more time, anyway Chuck speaks highly of Bruce at other times.
Thanks Ericka for the video if you have anymore I would love to see it again thank you 😉
everyone knows norris colors for himself
Thank you Erica for putting this on the air very kool big fan of both of them 😉
In 1967 as kato,,,Bruce was kicking high on the green hornet
That's right, before he even met CHUCKY.
Chuck is the most honest Martial Artist of all time. Forget about movie scenes...
one of the very few people on earth that got to meet Bruce Lee. You could tell they were good friends.
One of thousands you mean
Bruce Lee when He pitched the Idea of THE WAY OF THE DRAGON
"Ohhhh I see you wanna beat the World Champion" - Chuck Norris
"Noooo, I wanna KILL the World Champion" - Bruce Lee
Thanks for sharing. When was this taken? Do u remember the year?
I always like Chuck Norris and now, after this video i like much more. Guy correct, respectable with Bruce Lee, your Friend and he respect this. Helped Bruce's sons become actors and good man for the Life. Great action for a human been. Yeah, he can command the Delta Force.
All this people that never met Bruce just know more about him that the guy who was personally invited by Bruce to one of his movies, ok.
yup that fight scene in rome is one of the best fight scenes in any movie, 2 champs at it!!!
If you didn't laugh - you're a stone lol. This was interesting and funny. GOD bless you, Ericka and GOD bless Chuck Norris.
Appreciate the update Master Norris 🕴🏾.
Bruce Lee introduced Norris to cinema and motion picture.
Bruce Lee descansa en paz, ya no lo jodan más, déjenlo descansar en paz. Ya vino, cumplió, trabajo, dió todo, dejémoslo ir por favor, descansar en paz, ya, es suficiente

Jim Kelly told it how it was.
He sure did. Chuck was always very modest when speaking on Bruce. I like Chuck and all. But Bruce Lee was superior to Chuck.
Bruce Lee is/was better, that all this Karate Champions.
@@ecortes0929 Yeah but you have to realize Chuck Norris was an actual karate champion. I mean that’s like if Conor McGregor was talking about Jackie Chan’s fighting ability he’s not going to be totally blown away he’s a UFC champion.
As far as I know, nobody could touch Bruce Lee....he defeated easily all challengers
Worked out with him for 2 years and only has this one story he tells every time. 🤔😂🤣😅😆
Yes, I remember the fight scene with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris and it was a good fight too.
Lying to everyone.. Bruce lee kick high before you even meet him.. you teach Bruce lee how to kick that is so hilarious..
Respect less.....but we all know the truth.... Bruce Lee was superior!!!👍😃
They trained together and Bruce Lee learned from everyone including Joe Lewis. .
Why does he say that now after all those years !? He could have said that back in 70s 80s
Exactly he even told his student that Bruce Lee didn't teach him that all they did was work out. There is a letter from Chuck Norris apologizing to Bruce Lee for saying that Bruce Lee didn't teach him.
The audio is AMAZING. Wow. Top Notch.
Actually chuck Norris lied about telling Bruce to kick anywhere Bruce has been kick anywhere before chuck Norris “told him that” he really never did chuck just wanted credit not trying to hate on Norris cause he is one of my favorite fighters
Chuck Norris always speaks so eloquently about his time with Bruce Lee. A true gentleman.
@@junodonatus4906 Where did you hear or read that? Watch this...in Joe's own words. ruclips.net/video/1X2byotY220/видео.html
@@TAROTAI yes I know I'm an old boxer and my father was a boxer

Poor Chuck. He goes to speak somewhere and the people show up to ask questions about Bruce....
LOL, you know that's got to hurt his ego.
NORRIS is real talk. Bruce is real action..
There wasn’t really anything Chuck could have taught Bruce, Bruce trained Chuck in his styles same as he trained joe Lewis , Mike stone, Kareem jabaar,
@@spencerglover1 growing some nice facial hair
Basica3 Bruce needed someone to exchange ideas and train together. Chuck was just trying to get some movie debut as Bruce was the key to Hollywood.
Yes that's true...don't think anyone else has dived deeper in the martial arts then Bruce Lee
Chuck.Norris lost the sparring match.
he is holding back the most important...
Bruce knocked Chucks ass out with one punch, then Chuck became his student. Chuck will never admit it

My man, Chuck Norris. An asset for America and the whole world! God bless you!
All the legends of martial arts back in the day say Bruce Lee was better than them except Vic Moore and Chuck Norris
He was in *one* movie with Bruce Lee & now he makes a living pretending to have known him. It was Joe Lewis (Karate Champion) who knew him over almost 3 years of studying and training with Lee Jun fan & Joe Lewis was given the role 1st before he declined. That toupe . . . gotta go
WOW!
That was a great story!
Imagine if Bruce was still here, and these 2 legends were making movies all this time, and they were up on that stage together telling this story together, with their friendship still intact after all these years. You know it would have been so funny with Bruce's wit, charm, and sense of humor.
In a parallel reality, this may have taken place.

Thanks for posting. Great talk fr. Chuck Norris (a legend himself) about the Master... even that he spent time w Brandon when he was young... Great video! 💞❤️😂
And that Rome fight scene is still the best.
The 2 raid films have surpassed it now imo. Wheels on Meals had a great final fight too.

I was in the audience that night - Master Ken coming out at the end was awesome
Hahaha...pure lie it's Bruce Lee who taugh Chuck high kick 😁😂
Oh so you were there?
Nope.....wing chin in the early never used high kicks.
Chuck taught bruce how to kick.
Also bruce never had a single fight yet the fan boys claim bruce is the greatest.
Nope first and foremost bruce was just an actor with a notion to make it big in Hollywood.
Jkd is untested and all his demo's are bollcks and where he spars in demos his students are compliant and do as bruce says....in essence bruce was ok at martial arts...no way near the best martial artist as people claim.

Truthfully, I don't think the myth of Bruce Lee as a great fighter came from him. He didn't cultivate it because he didn't compete. I think that after he died the people who knew him embellished to make themselves more interesting and marketable.
@@junodonatus4906 of course it didn’t come from him otherwise there would be documentation of him saying so. He was often interviewed on various topics and the subject of his fighting prowess and his opinion of it had to have been brought up on occasion.
