Comic shops never removed the top 1/3 of covers, newsstands did. Comic shops got and still do, get their books from direct distribution with no returns (But a much lowered price) This is called a "Remaindered" copy.

Burke Street has a bad rap and everytime I go it’s closed even though it says it’s open. Funny I went the same day sticky goose went cause it was a Friday. Then I see the dude live-streaming on what not and I’m like wow…it’s true, more care for online selling than the own community he’s in.
Ryan from Burkestreet is a good guy and has always treated me right. I have only bought from him online. I do not think that Stickygoose and Ryan would ever be besties though . Just based on my assessment of personalities. But I could be totally wrong.
I saw that X-Men Volume 2 #4 in the second shop you visited and I just wanted to reach in there and buy it. I very badly need that for my X-Men Collection.

I live nearby this shop and it's amazing. It's where I got my first cgc comic. U should go to top hat comics too the guy that works there is amazing and they got some good stuff there, I go there almost every weekend.
