I never clicked on a video so quickly 😍 Ahhh I love this! I’m getting so many good recommendations 🙌🏻 I’ve never heard of The Darkling Wood before and it sounds so good! Okay you’ve convinced me. I need to read Kiki’s Delivery Service. “And if anything else it makes a great fan when you’re on your picnics. 10/10!” 😂🤣 I love this video so much 😩
Cottagecore + Middle Grade = Little House on the Prairie series. Literally about a family growing up on various farms across America, I read the series for the first time a couple of years ago and really loved it. There is some 'product of its time' references to Native Americans in the second book, but apart from that it isn't actually to terrible.
I loved The Tea Dragon Society!! So cute!! I would recommend Anne of Green Gables especially the first one! Was so good!! Roots Magic has been on my TBR for so long I need to pick up soon!!
What a great theme! Agreed on A Tangle of Spells (if I understand what you mean by cottage core!). Lovely choices - haven’t heard of In a Darkling Wood but it sounds gorgeous.
the first two books that come to my mind when I think of cottagecore are The Wind in the Willows and Tuck Everlasting, two of my all time favourite classics 🍃
october october by katya balen was such a beautiful book (but maybe more forestcore) and even though it's not set in a cottage, nightbird by alice hoffman has the perfect tone and warmth and longing that cottagecore gives me
I love the cottagecore vibes Gav- the bookshelf decorations are lovely. Great recommendations of middle grade cottage core. I really need to get Kiki's delivery service as it sounds like a truly wonderful, magical read. The tea dragon society sounds really magical as well- such gorgeous illustrations.
First, I love all these suggestions and have added a bunch to my wishlist immediately. Also, one could make a drinking game out of the auto-generated youtube closed captioning on this video. It doesn't recognize "cottagecore", and the variations the AI comes up with are hilarious. College core. Cottage coal. College called. Drink every time the AI gets it wrong, and you'll be on the floor by book four. :D
I love the cottagecore aesthetic! 🌱🍄 I definitely need to pick some of these up this summer! The Pinch of Magic series and Root Magic both sound so good and I really need to continue with The Tea Dragon books as well (I’ve already read the first one)!
I have a pinch of magic so probably will read them in order but I look forward to the third one having some cottagecore vibes! I still need to watch kiki's delivery service but it is nice to know that it has a really nice book too! And tea dragons society is on my tbr to get! I love tea so tea dragons?? Yes pls. The way I am in love with root magic and I haven't even read it yet.
neither do I 😂 aaah thanks for reminding me I need to continue the pinch of magic series 😌✨⭐️🌙 the valley of lost secrets sounds beautiful 🌿 and pax too 🥺 ouaaa ok all of them sound amazing 🤩🌿
nice video never heard of that before but when i think of it i have. read books in that theme like little house on the praire, i would even say midnight guardians had cottagecore in it as well as the book i have been reading for the blog tour too

Watching this with cc was a true joy. SO many misinterpretations of cottagecore, but conjugal was my favorite 😂
