My story goes back to the 1980s. I had a Sears Diehard battery in my AMC Hornet. I left my headlights on, and they were on for 14 hours. When I came out in the morning, I saw the lights were on and turned them off. The big six cylinder engine started right up. No doubt a V-8 would have started just as quickly.
Try that today, and I'm not sure what would happen. I have left headlights on for much shorter periods and had to charge the battery or use the jumper. Also, I am not sure about the quality of the Costco batteries. I am not certain that the Interstate batteries Costco sells are the same grade as the Interstates the shops and service stations sell.
No great complaints about Costco batteries though. They have changed their warranty policy. My present battery is under the old warranty, but I have received a free replacement already. I'll have to see what they do. If I have to pay, I'll pay. Times change. If I can get something off and get a new one before the present one dies, I'll take the offer.

And I lived with jumping the battery if not driven for 10 days for years. Finally after 3yrs, had AAA test my battery after not starting and its bad. I still have my doubts that your AAA private labeled battery will make it three years considering you are now extending the periods even longer between recharging. A battery's decline to hold a charge is not an even slope. It's more like a step down, and then a cliff. But you can kill a battery in a day with a 70% discharge at 32 F temperature. Is the AAA battery WET or AGM? If AGM, then you are not comparing apples to apples.

Only issue is the very same battery (Group 24 for Toyota Camry) now costs $11 more. FYI,I've never hada Costco vehicle battery last even 3 years and I've gone through 5 of them since 2007. Only saving grace is provided return a failed battery within the warranty period they indeed have a "no quibble" policy unlike all the other stores (autozone, pep boys, walmart, etc) where they fight you tooth and nail refusing to refund your money. I totally agree. Costco's battery warranty is a scam. I have my battery lasted for only 9 months and went dead. Costco charge me an extra $31 dollars for the replacement because the new battery price is higher than the dead battery when I purchase it. When I ask why the battery life is so short. The technician told me one of the battery cell is low on fluid that caused the defective. He told me it can be the weather is too hot. I just wonder if the weather is the reason. I’ve had excellent service with Interstate batteries from Costco. I bought one in about 2016 with a 42 month warranty. At about 40 months (2020) I went in and they exchanged it for free, and “restarted” the warranty, in other words I got a new 36 month warranty. Nobody else does this. But it gets better - about a month ago, I took the same battery back after 37 months, technically out of warranty, and they replaced it again no questions asked. And again, a new 36 month warranty is in effect. So I’m now on my 3rd battery in 7 years with another 3 years warranty. Essentially 3 batteries for the price of one. And I’m sure if I take this one in at around the 3 year mark, I’ll get another. I’ve pretty much got a lifetime warranty with Costco. Where else would you get that?

I asked what if I brought them both in at the same time and he said no problem. Asked if it's an exchange or refund. He said full refund no questions asked again. For that alone, I'm sold on these batteries. I'll take the dang things in every 30 months and get fresh ones and buy a hot dog and soda for $1.50 while im at it. And if they ever become too weak to start a 7.3 diesel in the 30 months I'll just use a jump pack.

Once the old "CEO" retired, Costco started becoming closer to Sam's, Walmart, or criminal banks like Bank of America or Golman Sachs.
I have seen people in their 70s being scrutinized by a manager for returning a product when a regular employee already checked the returned product. Products that I bought somehow disappeared from my buying history. Having the need to argue with a manager because trying to make difficult the return or no honoring the warranty, etc.
Regarding car batteries, generally speaking never had a problem like yours but, I bought a new battery yesterday. They changed the 3 year free replacement warranty with a 3 prorated replacement warranty. So it is getting worse little by little.
I used to get $80-$120 in the yearly refund of my prime/business membership. I changed to a regular membership because I have been so disappointed that started buying less and less from Costco. Last refund I got was $25 cash refund with "business" membership. That means I'm buying 75% less that I have being buying during the previoys 15 years.

One of the many underlying issues with costco selling batteries is that they don't test the warranty battery being returned. If I purchase a battery today and leave my headlights on all night, or sit in my car in accessory mode for hours, I can return it to them dead. Though in fact that battery is perfectly fine, IT JUST NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED. LIKE YOUR CELL PHONE. YOUR ALTERNATOR WILL NOT 100% CHARGE YOUR DEAD BATTERY. Your warranty then doesnt restart with your battery, you can't just buy a battery once with a 3 year warranty and return it every 2 years.

I run these batteries in 5 of my vehicles including a 5.9 Cummins and live in a cold state man and these are great batteries. Would cost you 2x more to buy a battery anywhere else. You’re exhausting way too much energy into this. Your time making this video and complaining you could have bought like 5 batteries lol.

Obviously you're not listening. Local shop will give it to you at the same price as Costco no problem at all. Costco is guaranteed and there is a sticker on the battery for 5 year free replacement.. they are going to get a brand new battery from Interstate for every bed batteries they are getting in. What they are going to charge you more money for it. Obviously people like you don't understand the problem. There is a big class action lawsuit against them. More than 5,000 people with the same problem

Seriously how stupid people like you even go through today without losing everything you got. You probably voted for Kamala Harris I know that and you probably driving a Prius. My experience is different. Used to have a Sam’s battery died and Sam’s tested and says it’s OK and refuse to replace. I bought one somewhere else and car started right up. Went back to Sam’s again and they replaced it without any further questions. But it took me multiple trips to Sam’s and return the good battery from another store. Switched to Costco and they never test battery or ask any questions.

Costco sell best quality merchandise. Period. Their battery last lot longer than any other aftermarket auto stores battery or even dealers. You are wasting your own time making this video. Go try out non Costco or non Sam’s club battery and you will realize how much it cost you in the end.
