Richie so ungrateful
Rik delivers a masterclass in clowning in this episode. A bit later, when he's waiting at the door for the non-existent hordes of guests, his face registers about 12 different emotions in four seconds.

@@kisbie His comedic timing and delivery is exceptional. I can watch this over and over again. Bottom is a timeless classic. I feel like the show was a bit short on series/episodes i.e I wanted more!
@@holyboy1 classic comedies should always leave you wanting more, i think only fools outstayed it’s welcome a touch, and Fawlty towers was a touch of class, pardon the pun. Only 12 episodes of Fawlty was made and Bottom only ran for a short period similarly.
I love the way Richie holds his hand up in announcing it's a fight.
The acting in this is absolutely PERFECT

Such an under rated comedy. It stands along with all the best British comedies but doesn't have the same number of views. A great disservice.

zander469 Got to No.45 in the BBC's top 100 British Sitcoms of all time. Also below the likes of Men Behaving Badly, Dinner Ladies, and Thin Blue Line. Personally I'd put Bottom in the top 10.
Sadly it wasn’t family friendly or politically correct enough to be in the top 10, despite how great it was, Rik and Aid were the anarchists of British comedy so they wouldn’t of had it any other way, other British comedies like Game on don’t get the appreciation they deserve either

@@Amberryxplayzxroblox They were actually pretty well known for it especially Rik was certainly I mean was the inspiration for what Dawn French did as well s Greg Davies etc, infact him asking Rik to play his dad, responded to a call from Greg Rik just said "you fat wanker" or something to that effect, a compliment from Rik is being called that or rather I'd call it an honour. Then as soon as he said he wanted Rik to play his dad was going on about how amazing it was going to be, typical Rik pmsl.
I can't imagine my childhood without ' The Young ones ' and ' Bottom '. Rest in Peace Rik. I saw you guys in Belfast years ago going mad on stage. Loved it. Thanks

I always liked how when lucid, Eddie typically beats the crap out of Richie. But when Richie is genuinely furious, even Eddie is terrified...
That's because Richie is totally unpredictable.
This is one of my all time favourite comedy scenes. The set up to the "red hot tip" is sublime.
He may be gone but he will still serve long in our memories. What a legend. RIP Rik

What I love about Bottom more than anything else is the duos ability to take a laugh and then continue that laugh so you are laughing continuously until you fall off your chair and your belly starts to hurt.

How the critics hated this show! "Scraping the BOTTOM of the barrel" was the oft-repeated witticism. It's a good thing the BBC paid more attention to the viewing figures than to those little pretentious bores, and kept Richie and Eddie going! They were GREAT!!
i wasnt feeling too great and then i watched this and it cheered me right up :D this show was such a great part of my childhood ^_^

Absolutely brilliant!!! These two are comedy legends, Bottom was easily the best sitcom of its time, the only comedy series that actually made me laugh out loud!! One of the best partnerships of our era…you had Eric and Ernie…the two Ronnies….Cannon and ball….little and large ….then Eddie and Richie….whom to me are second only to Laurel and Hardy!!! Brilliant comedians.

Richie is Truly a hilarious character. A 40 year old Virgin, who thinks he’s above to everyone else. Who lives rent Free because of his Aunt, and let’s Eddie live for free because he’s that Lonely as a person.
