- Make a bell using a coco cola can at home. A cool science experiment that easily demonstrates electric charge. Franklin bells were the first device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy in the form of moving metal between two oppositely charged coca cola Cans.

Should we empty the soda can first? What kind of cable is used in the experiment? What is the difference between the first layer net and the second layer net?
Yes, the cans must be hollow. It is a normal insulated connecting wire, no special cable is required. There are three layers in a zapper racket and the charge is formed between 1st - 2nd and 3rd - 2nd layers, so you need to connect either to layer 1 & layer 2 or connect to layer 3 and layer 2.
Why a mosquito racket is used instead of any other power source
Because a mosquito racket has a very highly charged capacitor that produces the shock.
why we can't use the battery as a replace of mosquito racket
We need high voltage between the cans for the franklin bells to work. The batteries can't produce such high voltages (without electrical circuit) whereas a mosquito racket develops a voltage potential of about 1500 V between both the cans.
