I play the weekly instant tournament as soon as yours come out . Then i watch your video and compare my play and bidding to yours . Your reasoning helps me. Good luck and have fun in Argentina
Some great hands there, Pete! Especially the 6C. Shows the efficacy of not rebidding 1S in the North with a balanced hand. BTW, I didn’t realize Fiona Brown was from Oz. I only played against her once and she was rather quiet ;)
Good luck with World Bridge Games, Pete! I don't quite understand the significance of leading a low diamond first in the last board. If South doesn't have the diamond Queen, then declarer doesn't need dummy's clubs for discard anyway, right? So assuming partner has DQ, leading diamonds in either order seems to just force declarer to put up the A & K on both turns.
Declarer then has a 100% line after spades break, by winning the Ace on the first round and then playing SA SK DK D6, and the D10 provides a discard for the long clubs. But when you play D8, South could hold DQJxx, in which case that line would fail.
In 6S, had West shown 5-5 minors? The play is kind of weird if not, because the legitimate line is to play a Heart to the Jack for your extra entry. West can't beat it by slotting the Jack, because then you discard the King of Hearts on the long diamond.
I show the hand later. If partner bids anything over your invite than you should be in a game force now as partner isn't trying to just improve the part score. Nabil Edggton bid 6C which makes comfortably.
I, and I am sure many others, are really looking forward to the recaps of the worlds. Love your work Pete, keep up with the videos.

Best of luck! Maybe after your back a short video on what your role as captain was.
I can probably answer a bunch of that while I'm there.

So, what should be the bid on your problem hand (1:43)? I don't see a diamond stopper, so I'd bid 4H if I were to bid, but I'd pass.
