I left the house in rainbow zebra socks, a highlighter yellow tutu, a pink sequin heart shirt, and knee high socks. This was not a costume, an everyday outfit, dad tried to convince me not to and he was subsequently told 'to stop sipping haterade'.

I don't know when you went to school but to add up my school books and notebooks (when I went to school) could weigh somewhere between 10-15 lbs. As part of my IEP I got a second set of books because it started getting too difficult to carry. Still without the books it weighed at least 5 lbs.

Wearing backpacks on our bellies caught on in elementary school. Me and a few others actually got a good chunk of our school doing it.
We were forced to wear our backpacks on the front because the school claimed that it was better for our backs.
Kirstin McCarty WOW. Whatever state you have is stupid. The structure of the human body is MADE for carrying things on our backs. The spinal cord can take the stress specifically better where the muscles in your back are, not where you have almost no muscle as a young child at the front of your body.

My uncle did “The Force” in front of my cousin at a Target before they left for another store, and proceeded to watch as my cousin tried to do “The Force” at the new store and failed because they weren’t automatic doors.
I used to go to school with a leather jacket, slicked hair, and pointed at everyone saying Eyyyy like the Fonz... That was like 30+ years since Happy Days (I hope thats correcr) and I've never watched the show lol

When my brother, whose middle name is Fitzgerald, was in first grade, he told everyone he was related to JFK. When he was in high school he claimed all his friends called him "Rodeo". I think maybe it happened once. (I never did anything weird, naturally, because I am the older child and therefore the perfect child.)

When I went to Rome with my class, we would all wear our backpacks on our stomachs, because we were afraid something would get stolen😹
That is actually the advised way to do that.
You can see this in all major, busy European cities.

TWO cool things I did:
Because of Cris Cross' popularity at the time, I also tried wearing my jeans backward when I was 7-8! Problem is that my parents are complete foreigners and made me wear tight jeans! Could barely walk!
Another one is that I used to wear jeans saggy when I was 10, but two things....again my jeans were tight and i wore briefs, not boxers, so you could see a few inches off my upper thighs!
So yeah, I was so cool! :p

1:22 I once tried to put a free try-out-pack of anti-aging-cream in my sleeve at the store, because my pockets were full and I didn't think straight, I wanted to get it for my mom.
I was chased out of the store by a screaming manager, that thought I had been stealing and 'unfortunately just took something free to steal.' I explained how it was for my mom, how I had been foolish to jokingly put it up my sleeve, but he didn't believe it. I was about 8 years old.
To this day, I automatically hold everything up high in the air, chest-height, and about 15 cm's from my body, so people can clearly see that I am not stealing. Karma did help me a bit though, about 2 weeks after they'd chased me, the manager was told that he had to close the shop.
That last one is the best because its just so random XD
When I was a kid, I made this fanny pack at summer camp and thought it was hilariously clever of me to write "Stop staring at my fanny!" all bedazzled on it, and wear it backwards above my butt. I wore it EVERYWHERE for the next year. #IthoughtIwascool
In elementary school, there was still a store that sold glass Pepsi bottles. I used to walk down the street, drinking my Pepsi from a paper bag, like a wino.

I remember standing on the bathroom countertop with my cutoff jeans and my hair crimped (it was the 80's, afterall) the night before the first day of 1st grade and telling myself in the mirror, "you're going to be the coolest girl in school..." and posing. I was the sh*t...lol
