I spent several years watching videos and trying affordable makeup, so I could stop buying high end products. I had to retire early due to health issues. I was amazed at how easy it was to find GREAT products! This foundation being one of them! My holy grail primers are the Elf Mint Melt primer (I'm using this one up, and will buy the other, more popular one next) and after I let that one sink in, I press in the pore filling primer where needed. I have not been the least bit tempted to splurge on a high end complexion product!!
PS My puppy has had a sick tummy this week.😥 Don't you wish they could talk to us?
Hi Patti! 🤗I'm so very sorry to hear about your dear puppy! 🥹 I am praying that your little furry one feels better very soon!🙏🏻 Also thank you so much for telling me about your great experiences with drugstore makeup! I've heard that the elf Mint Melt Primer smells like Girl Scout cookies! 😋 I noticed that you said you use the pore filling primer after the mint one, so if you don't mind my asking, is the mint primer more of a moisturizing primer? Now that I've tried this elf primer, I may be interested in getting some more! Big hugs to you and your pup! ❤️
@@foundationlady My puppy is better.... he must have gotten into something in the yard.😥He's loving his rice and chicken meals though!!!
I absolutely love the Mint Melt primer. I bought several of them when they were 60% off! It is a gel formula, so I don't find it moisturizing, but my skin is very well prepped before I start. The main issue for me is that it isn't drying. I do give it time to set up before I apply the pore filling primer. And I just press that in.
Because of my health, I must continue to wear masks whenever I leave the house, and this primer keeps my Wet n Wild Tinited Hydrator from transferring too badly. Even though it isn't a transfer free product!
I also use the Catrice Illuminating setting spray, and that helps as well!
Aw, I hope your puppy is better soon. I love the fur babies. Hate it when they're sick. And yes, I too wish they could talk to us. Bet vets do too.
@@Patti-1962 Oh that's wonderful! I heard the elf mint melt smells delicious! 🥰 (Glad to know it works so well too! I'll have to keep my eyes open for a sale! (And I LOVE the Catrice setting spray too! ❤ I think it's better than a lot of high end setting sprays!)
So, so pretty on you! Thanks for the great review, you always do such a good job. Thanks, too, for including the tip on walking pugs, Norm isn't anti-walk he's just so perfect and handsome he doesn't want to incite jealousy in the other neighborhood pups! He's being very considerate of their feelings.
I just love your foundation reviews so much. I have tried this foundation myself and LOVE it, especially for the price. I’m 40 years old, and have combo/oily skin. Another job well done!🤗❤️
Thank you so much Katie! 🤗 You are so sweet. Your comment brightened my day! ❤️ And I'm so glad you love this foundation too! 😍 Have a great weekend!! ☀️ Thanks for watching!
Another great review, I love the wear test and your recommendation for skin types. Thanks again 😊
Thank you so much Kerry! 🤗❤ I really appreciate it! 🌺
I want to try the Elf CC cream now since i have pretty dry skin. This Elf foundation looks beautiful on your skin!
Hi Kathy! 🤗 Thank you so much! The elf CC cream is so beautiful... the hardest part for me was just picking out the right shade because in the store the shades that were grouped together were kind of hard to distinguish, but once I found it, I was so happy! I hope you love it too!❤
Can't wait to see what happens in the summer, but I LOVE this stuff on my oily skin. For me, it IS satin. Don't even have to set it to keep it from being tacky and sticky, which is what I wanted. Still playing around with primers but this is one liquid foundation that won't just sit in my drawer.
Oh I just LOVE hearing that!! 🥰 Isn't it a fantastic product?! And I love that you don't have to set it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience of this foundation with me!
Thanks fir the review. I will pass on this one. My skin is super dry!
You're so welcome sweet Tami! 🤗 I'm always glad to be able to help people find something they love, or find a way to save money by not buying something that might not work for them! ❤️ Have a wonderful weekend! 🌸
I used to wear this back in like 2013 to maybe 2017 but I have combination skin and my t-zone would get oily with this so I always set with a mattifying powder and it stayed🙂nowadays I'm 36 turning 37 and it would probably work with my Mac studio fix or Laura mercier powder🙂I also find with certain seasons that my skin looks good with different finishes of foundation🙂I'm more light makeup in the summer and in the fall I wear a bit more makeup🙂
I totally agree with you Nikki! 🥰 Switching up foundations for seasons (or how our skin is behaving at the moment, is where it's at!) Thank you so much for your comment! ❤️ I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! 🤗🌷
Hey does the elf foundation oxidises??
I used to use this foundation. I love elf! It just oxidized on me so much I couldn’t get a light enough foundation to allow for the oxidation ~Casper over here 🤦♀️ it looks beautiful on you! It does have a really pretty finish 😊 looks great in all types of lighting and lasts a long time too. ELF knows how to get it done 🎉 And I’m with Norm 🤣 going for a walk?! Nope! I’m good! And I need a treat lol
Hey Lady! 🤗 That's so funny you mention the oxidation from elf. I tried the concealers, which are REALLY good, but darnit, I think I went to the store 4 times to get the right shade because they oxidized so much! 😂 Have you tried the Believe Beauty Foundation from Dollar General? If I remember correctly, I think they had a very fair shade, and that formula is just beautiful! 😍 Have a fabulous weekend friend! ❤️
@@foundationlady I have the camp hydrating concealer from ELF and was able to get a light enough shade to use that. I really do like the concealer. I have not tried Believe Beauty yet. I may test it out. My daughter had tried it and while it looked great on her it irritated her skin. She has sensitive skin as well. So that has been my only hesitation. I may get it though and just do a patch test. Not apply all over my face and see if that works. It’s not expensive anyway! Hope you have a great weekend as well ❤️ 🤗
I like E.L.F. Face cream! Now I’ll have to try the foundation…
Hi Wendy!!! 🤗❤ I was watching something a few months ago by an esthetician or dermatologist (can't remember now which...) but she was talking about how impressive the e.l.f. skincare line is, and how the ingredients were so good (while also being affordable!) I ran out and got me some elf eye cream that day! 😂
@@foundationlady Holy Hydration!
@@wendyskains Yes!! (great name right? 😂) I was so mad at myself, because I had just spent an arm and a leg on a fancy cream, and then I found the elf eye cream, and that's the one I end up using almost every night! 😆 I should just use what Mimi used.... Jergens face lotion.... she had the softest skin I've ever felt! 🥰❤
@@foundationlady she and Mother had the prettiest, softest skin!
@wendyskains Two of the loveliest ladies! 🥰 Both beautiful inside and out! ❤
Your cheeks look BEAUTIFUL in this one. I’m wondering if it’s your blush. 🧐🤔
Thanks so much lady! 🤗 I'll tell ya all I used on top...On top of the foundation I used my new Clinique loose powder (amazing!) The Chanel Les Beiges Bronzing cream to warm up my face, and then the blush was the Loreal True Matching "Baby Blossom" (a super-pale shade of pink. ) ❤️☺️
This does look beautiful on you! In my country, this foundation is €10,-. The dollar and the euro are about the same at this moment. So not expensive, but not quite the three or four dollars in the US.
But I might give this a try when I allow myself to buy foundation again. Like next year.
For drugstore options, I love the Wet 'n Wild tinted hydrator, the Pretty Natural from Essence and some Nr 7 options.
How do you walk a pug? I don't know, I only have a regular dog.
Maybe you roll it?
(Just kidding, Norm, I love you ♥️)
@Marielle LOLOL! I actually think it would be easier to roll Norm than to try to get him to walk! 😂 As far as drugstore options go, I love that Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator too! It's probably the product that's been the biggest surprise to me all year, because when I picked it up I though, this looks ORANGE in the tube, but oh well, at least it'll make for a funny video if it turns me orange... and then it ended up being FANTASTIC! ☺️ Do you have any favorite foundation options that aren't available in the U.S.? I remember when I went to Ireland , I wanted to go to the store (They weren't called drugstores, like in the U.S. but the stores that sell less expensive makeup... ) and buy ALLLLL the foundations I couldn't get in the U.S.!! 😍
@Leila... can I go too? 😉❤️
Hummm, maybe for Summer in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
It’s definitely worth a shot! ❤️❤️❤️
Great product. Try matching the 16 hour camo concealer yo the foundation color. Unreal. And no help from elf company 🤷
Thanks so much for your comment, and great tip! ❤️ I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 🤗💕🌺
Canada Girl here - I was looking for a product and couldn't find what I was looking for and suddenly I said, Foundation lady might be able to help - I am looking for an exfoliator kind of a product - I have used buff puffs with my Aveeno soap (no smell) for years but they are getting too expensive - what do you use to exfoliate - remember, no perfume for me - Cheers from Canada 🍁
I haven't forgotten you sweet Canada Girl! 🥰 I've been mulling over your question and will write back soon! ❤
@@foundationlady No hurry - you are very busy - take as much time as you need - I will always be here - watch all your reviews - amazing as usual - Cheers 🍁
@@MSGC55 Hello Lovely! 🥰I've been thinking through your question, and I think I may have a few options for you! 😊So over the past couple of years I’ve been watching more dermatologist videos on RUclips. (I especially love “Dr .Dray” if you ever get the chance to look her up. She’s very no nonsense, and suggests everyday drugstore options, and does NOT recommend fragrance…. So I think you’d really like her.) I’ve actually been exfoliating a bit less, because I realized that I was exfoliating so much that I was damaging my skin barrier, which was making my skin more dry. So, first thing I did was cut down to once a week, which really seemed to help. The other thing I’ve noticed is that most derms seem to recommend a “chemical” exfoliant versus a “physical” one (like scratchy scrubs, etc.) So, I’ve started using “Glycolix Elite Glycolic Peel Resurfacing Pads” (from Amazon) They’re little premoistened pads, and although they’re a little pricey, I only use one a week so they last a very long time. Another really good option is by the company “The Ordinary” available at Ulta, and they have a product called AHA 30% + BHA 2% Exfoliating Peel Solution. You have to be VERY careful with it, as it is very strong, but you apply it to your skin once a week for 10 minutes (work up to ten minutes) and it basically gives you a mini-peel at home. (It’s around $8.00 U.S, and a bottle lasts a long time.) As far as physical exfoliaters go, I find getting the CHEAPEST (scratchy) white rags from somewhere like Wal-mart, running them under warm water, and then using them to gently buff my face works well, because they aren’t soft rags they give a little more exfoliation, or good ol’ baking soda. I have baking soda beside my kitchen sink in a little sugar dispenser I got from the dollar store, and every once in a while I use it on wet skin to exfoliate! I hope these ideas help! Sending you big hugs! 🤗 ❤
@@foundationlady You're amazing as always - yes, just looking for once a week to exfoliate - I will Google your suggestions and the little tip at the end with the baking soda, wonderful - you are such a kind and thoughtful person - are you a Christian? - you seem to be spreading God's love - thx again for all the suggestions 😍
It looks nice on me too but it transfers too easily
Hi Prini! 🥰 Thanks so much for sharing your experience using this foundation with me. ❤️ I love getting feedback, so I can keep it in mind when people ask me about a particular formula. Have a great weekend! 🌷💕
