I love this quote by Jim Beaver. "Today we fight. Tomorrow we fight. The day after, we fight. And if this disease plans on whipping us, it better bring a lunch, cause it's gonna have a long day doing it!" Keep fighting the journey Joe!

    Hi Joe. I'm Jo. 😁
You popped up in my recommended videos today, and I just want to let you know that you're in my thoughts.
I was told for over a decade that I was *"just being lazy"* because I no longer had the energy to get out of bed. (I used to work 12 hours a day...I'm anything but lazy.)
Approx 4 years ago they discovered (by accident) my bone marrow cancer. (Myelofibrosis)
My energy is gone...my strength is gone. I used to have an overabundance of both. Now I lie in bed approx 18 hrs a day. My pain is relentless and I'm on crazy pain killers. I've been sick since my mid 30's. More than half my son's life. I'm a single mom, so that seems so unfair to him. He's missed out on SO much because of this dastardly disease.
    Anyway, I'm sorry to babble.
I just wanted to reach out because if you ever need someone to talk to that "gets it", you're more than welcome to msg me.
I take chemo pills daily, and you're right...chemo is scary stuff.
Huge hugs to you from Canada.

Hi Joe, I’m a thyroid cancer survivor (diagnosed and treated in 2003). This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and I’m so sorry that you are having to go through this. Your message for people to be vigilant is spot on - my outcome may have been different had I not persisted in finding a doctor who would listen to my concerns. My GP told me on two separate visits that the lump in my neck was a swollen lymph node and that I was being “paranoid”. Turns out I had a 3cm papillary carcinoma in my thyroid. My decision to seek a second opinion meant that fortunately it was found still encapsulated and hadn’t metastasised. I often feel guilty when I hear of people like yourself doing it tough - why was I spared? Please keep fighting! You will be in my thoughts ❤️ best wishes from Australia

same here, diagnose in 2015 thyroid removed, previous to that I had a scan and was told my lump was a calcified lymph node, my papilillary had metastasised but somehow I have survived along with other medical matters, biggest problem in the UK is the GP lack of knowledge around thyroid cancer and levothyroxine dose and or how to manage, also lack of head and neck consultants

@hereweare9096 It is just another way of saying don't give up hope. I'm in the medical field, we are taught that you never give up hope. Our " hope" changes along the way. Sometimes it is hope that a medicine or procedure, even if palliative, will work to help the patient in some way. Even this gentleman said and explained that he will never give up hope.

JOE and his content/wisdom/advice/sarcasm/honesty is what cancer journey videos should be all about. Offering insight and grace throughout his entire life journey with this cruel disease. Not using a condition and broadcasting it for the wrong reasons. An actual person sharing VERY knowledgeable advice should any of us also develop Cancer we can turn to these videos. Joe's legacy is truly reflected in his channel and all he has shared with us. Maybe one day if given a similar circumstance to Joe, I can look back on his story and maybe not feel so alone. He's a special dude.
AND fyi they say you should judge a good Man by the way he treats animals, and Joe is DEFINITELY showing that soft side. An incredibly wise Man I respect greatly and expect great things for him in the beyond. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I just saw this. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year. It's very scary this cancer stuff. The pain I think is the worst. Because it's not just pain, it's pressure and fatigue and all the things that are so abnormal and hard for anyone who has not gone through it to even imagine. I'm not religious in any traditional way either. I don't know what to say. Sometimes I find if people just say they care and also if they offer some kind of practical help because it's hard to just do daily things when you aren't feeling well. So yeah, I care. Journey.
Sorry to hear about your bad news.
Hats off to you - I really liked what you said at the end: about living and fighting for as long as you can. I have been living with cancer for 3.5 years and sometimes I just want to say: f..ck it, I am done. But, I am a single mom to two kids, who I love to bits, and I have to stay alive for them, for as long as I can.
I really hope your journey continues.
    take care

Hey Joe..You just popped up on my video stream this morning. I don't know your story except for what I saw in this video. I'm so sorry to hear you're in pain & the cancer is spreading. I hope the treatments you have planned will shrink the tumors and stop the cancer fron spreading any further. Stay strong and don't give up...your journey isn't over & anything is possible...including full healing & recovery. I've known several people who survived stage 4 cancer who weren't expected to survive. Sending good thoughts and many blessings your way....

Awww the kitty is so sweet! This is a part that is important as it is a form of therapy. My girl is 17yrs old and still reminds me to bathroom, bed, she sits and stares without blinking until they are all taken. They form a bond and it's the best. I am facing Lymphe Nodes and getting biopsy for Cancer. I have 1 on my lung, side stomache and neck. I think I am in limbo waiting on the call. NO clue what will happen but I am a fighter! Roar! LOL

I listened to every minute of the video. I think your story demonstrates how strong you are, and thank you for letting us share what you are going through. I do think a positive attitude and doing what you can to make yourself as well as possible will help you. Even if a cure is not possible, which for anyone would be so hard to accept, your wellbeing and quality of life can keep improving. I would feel the same, if there is some hope... Then not to give up defo

Had enough comments saying that you'll pray or talking about afterlife etc.
I'm an anti-theist so more than don't believe; I don't agree with the practice, indoctrination or philosophical concept of religion and gods.
Please don't leave comments with religious content in, I've been polite enough to ask you here so if you do leave a comment its unpolite as you have ignored a simple request.
Then there is the pushing of alternative treatments. Just don't, post a link to a peer reviewed study or keep quiet, I'll tear in to you if you don't. Warning given.

      I totally and 100% agree.
All I can say is the I *hope* (unfortunately this has no impact on the outcome) that your remaining time is as comfortable & painless as it can be…
I also “hope” (again as you know no impact on the outcome) that the “curative” possibility works out.
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.
Unfortunately from personal experience I suspect (w/ no medical experience just being epileptic) that if he was in levetiracetam (Keppra, Desitrend) which is the first line in treatment for seizures this did nothing to help his mental wellbeing. Especially if his seizures were the result on brain cancer.
This medication is very catastrophic for mental health & with the information he was told it honesty shock me that this was the outcome.
Again I’m am not expert (just been on the medication that is notorious to relate to suicidal thoughts and major depression)
But if the cancer on your brain begins to cause seizures I urge you to request another medication.
I understand if you are not looking for medical “advice” but I feel the *need* to inform you that should this end up being needed in your situation that your remaining time would be likely even more devastating on your mental health if this was used.
Again I am so sorry for your friend and I wish the as much peace & comfort as possible.

Hon Jesus isn’t about religion either. Especially organized religion. It’s just about belief of how we came to be and to believe in our lord and savior. It’s about what he did for us. How he died and she’s his blood to save us. I’m sorry that your cancer isn’t responding to treatment. Yes I’m going to pray for you. Sending much love ❤️🙏
