      Idk about dream fight lol. But forsure a good matchup. But Sean pieces him up I think. And those wrestler vs wrestler matchups are a toss up. Can either be very exciting like “Colby vs Usman”
      Or it can be boring because it’ll be a hug fest because they wana prove who’s the better grappler.
      I get your point tho, but financially, Cory doesn’t really sell fights. Merab sells this fight more because he’s going in their essentially to win for himself and to get one back for Aljo so theirs a story behind it. Like Hill vs Glover then Hill Vs Alex.
      And Merab vs Umar the promotion for that fight would be the most boring cringe thing ever. And as die hard fans yes those are the fights we wana see. BUT! From a business view, it’s not because it doesn’t generate any revenue. And the casual fan is the ones who really put money in Dana’s pockets because everyone wants to see 2 dudes shit talking eachother fight.

    I'm on the side of Cory being underrated. Seems like people don't realized he hasn't lost much. Aljo caught him slippin yeah, Yan bested him, but Yan was piecing up everyone at the time (people had him as a top 5 striker at that point)...even Suga. Contrary to popular belief, I think Cory has a champion level skillset/IQ and he's easily a top 10 active striker. Could even argue top 5-7

    • @finnneilson6229
      @finnneilson6229 16 дней назад +15

      He definitely is top 5-7 strikers in the UFC, his fight iq and footwork is off the charts. He also took the Yan fighter on super short notice, got bested but didn't do badly. I think he would win in a rematch he's a totally different fighter now, he implements wrestling well now, which makes him good at stealing rounds and opening up his strikes.

    Love Corey’s thought process with studying his opponent. So tired of hearing fighters say they don’t watch any tape , never seen them fight , just get told by their coach what to work on . I think as the sport evolves you will need to be a thinker like sandhagen .

    Sandman doesn't need this title eliminator in my opinion as they're are other options for Umar like Henry or Yan but I'm biased as a Corey guy.
    Corey is the one to dethrone O'Malley.

    Ay DJ bro!
    I’ve got a middleweight blue belt Gi tournament on Saturday (vic states) & I’m versing a wrestler most likely with good duck unders … I’m also a wrestler with a pretty good double leg
    Most of my matches / rolls take around 5 seconds before I double leg 😂so I’m thinking just same gameplan but wondering how will I counter his defensive wrestling …

    i really gained alot of respect for cory from this interview the guys way smarter then i would of assumed and his ability to still be a student even at his lvl with zero ego, the guy just wants to learn as much as he can about mixed marshal arts while maintaining who he is, staying loyal to his team he mentioned multiple times, i could see Cory take that Belt one day he has the mentality to be a great champ imo.

      Umar has crazy win streak. He beat everyone UFC put in front of him so you can’t ignore him. And if you think Sandhagen is the best then he shouldn’t give a fk who he fights next. And if Sandhagen takes that zero from Umar will be huuuge
