      Just like how BOTW was about malice, blind thoughtless rage lacking all wisdom. Calamity Ganon was so opposite to wisdom that he was just a mindless beast. And Link lost all memory, and the whole game was his journey to regaining his memory and understanding of the situation.
      I think TOTK was more about hopelessness and despair, aka gloom. The opposite of courage. The whole game laid out an impossible enemy, shattering the master sword, withering Link's arm off, stranding Zelda in the distant past, making the whole situation seem hopeless. Gdorf on the other hand was overconfident and aloof, having no courage purely because he felt there was no contest. When his courage was tested he immediately caved and sacrificed himself to power.
      I predict the next game's red goo will be called languor or sorrow. The Ganon iteration will be weak and depressed at his inability to take Hyrule, and he will have some cunning, intelligent plan to win. He'll be more on par with Wind Waker's Ganondorf. The game will be a journey to amass enough power to overcome Ganon's plan, not just Link himself but the kingdom as a whole.

      The 3 colors have arguably always been paired together as part of the Zelda Lore ever since the original The Legend of Zelda on the NES allows Link to change his clothes from Green, Blue and Red. It's because of this running gag across the first 4 games that Miyamoto and Aonuma chose to pair each of them with the 3 Golden Goddesses who created the World and the Triforce which represents their essence. Link's Awakening is yet another of the multitude of cases where the 3 colors are used to represent a "trifecta" between the 3 concepts of "Courage", "Wisdom" and "Power" which give order to the Zelda Universe.

      Even if she did actually have the Triforce in BOTW though. It’s still possible she loses it, given that deadly fall we see in the trailer. So I still believe there’s a chance we might have to find it, or at least use the tears to help keep Ganondorf away from it.

    Also, notice how in a link to the past, the three pendants you earn have the same power as the three dragons in bite? These pendants were made by three ancient wizards that had these powers of fire ice and thunder. Before they died they sealed their powers away in these turee pendants, which through out the years, have been changed all the way to the dragons dinraal, farosh, and nydra.

In TotK we see every race existing simultaneously at the same time implying that the timelines have converged somehow and the races had to have been thriving on their own for a certain period of time for them to have been already established. I could buy it being a true reboot if say the Rito didn't exist or something as they were a one off race from Wind Waker, but to have the Rito return and have them look even more like an offshoot race with them looking even more like birds must say something.

    • @keegans5695
      @keegans5695 10 месяцев назад +1

      The triforce is only fragmented at certain points in the timeline, after being claimed by an impure heart (ganondorf). It is regularly in its intact form when either in possession of the royal family or in the sacred realm.
      The "sealing powers" zelda displayed in botw showed the complete triforce in her possession. It's also intact at the end of alttp, the beginning of both oracle games, the beginning of oot, and, while not explicitly mentioned, Zelda's "light force" in minish cap is also likely the complete triforce.

Like it's courageous to venture somewhere where you might never come back but let's not kid ourselves there isn't gonna be permadeath so maybe if you die you lose your gear? That would be a cool way to have a permadeath-like system that doesn't feel bs

    The Gorons naturally came back to thr volcano of death mountain.
    The Zora resurfaced.

    I really like the way BotW handled so much of the established canon of the Zelda series. The land was inhabited by the different species, the monsters were all integrated into the overworld, even the recurring characters like Impa were just characters in the story. Then the deep lore was all there to discover without being shoved down your throat via cutscene, extended dialogue, or fucking reading. You got to learn about the remnants of the Sheikah and the plot of the Yiga just as a side effect of playing the game. The master sword was never required nor set as part of the ultimate goal, but people at different stables kept talking about the legend so you really wanted to figure out where this thing was. And the triforce, as far as I could find, was never even mentioned in game. You had the dragons and the regions that were named after their respective goddesses and you had the springs that related to the shards of the triforce but that really only tipped off people that already knew Zelda as a series. I just think BotW was so elegant with its handling of series staples.

    I know this is an old video, out before TotK's release, but I saw these connections a while back as well! It also goes into the theming of the stories as well.
    In SS, Zelda and Link are forging a new *power* to take down an evil.
    In BotW, Link is trying to find himself, as is Zelda. They are seeking *wisdom* to defeat an evil.
    In TotK, (Spoilers, btw) Zelda and Link courageously seek out the root of corruption to face it, only to encounter Ganon himself. In the past, Zelda must have the *courage* to lose herself to ensure the Master Sword is powerful enough to defeat Ganon.

    My personal theory regarding the triforce is that, due to the multiple timelines, the original goddesses, Din Farore and Nayru, used the triforce to essentially do a cosmic do over. This created a singular timeline, a single Ganondorf, and something of an amalgamation of the various species. Case and point, in Windwaker it was established that the Rito were the descendants of the Zora. Now they are alternate species and cultures. Finally, there are the three dragons that roam Hyrule that are suspiciously similar to the three golden goddesses. It’s possible that the Secret Stones are either the triforce broken into seven fragments, or an off shoot as the goddesses absorbed the triforce to hide its existence and hence became dragons themselves, just as those that consume the sacred stones becomes.
