Honestly, being softlocked in the dungeons is an ending of itself, you are eternally trapped in this hell dungeon and after you kill everything that could be killed you are just...alone. with Gods laughing at you, and nashrah, which is arguably worse than being alone

@@sircuffington no ending E is that you escaped the Dungeons physically but you got deep trauma from all the horrors you have seen there that in your mind you are hallucinating about being still in the Dungeon

Ok, but it's so funny to see Nas'hrah being the party leader, if you don't get completely blinded, you technically make the game easy as hell, you can't die. But you can reject Nilvan's soul and softlock yourself anyway.

You really have broken this game over your knee. Reminds me of how Disgaea 2 has a bad ending but the requirements are so specific and grueling that it's far easier than any normal ending.

And I broke even that!
Just to say it, I think another possible way of getting yourself soft-locked from Ending D is to simply start with Devour, defeat the Skin Granny and refuse Nilvan's request. Then, kill Cahara and instantly Devour his body. Now you're completely unable to enter the Golden Temple because the Endless Soul is impossible to obtain since you refused Nilvan's request and you can't use a Soul Stone on Cahara's dead body because it was devoured
That doesn't work! You can use soul stones on a devoured body without problems! Also I wanted to kill the less bosses possible for this softlock, to give the player even more possibilities to free themselves from the softlock (possibilities that don't work)

The fact that Nashrah shows up burned in Termina is just insane. For those who saw what Gro'goroth did to him, it was chilling to see he survived even that, and given his love of burning flesh, probably really enjoyed himself.
The best part is how even after all those years he mantained influence to prevent him from going back into the hall of the gods!

A funny way you can softlock yourself out of Ending D is to sit on the throne, then use the passages after you used it prior to get blue sin, this will teleport you out of the moon but if you try head their again your sprite will still be sitting there and you'll be unable to sit yourself.

@frapollo94 HAHAHA but the problem is if you somehow get phase step you can still use the out of bounds throne to get Ending D,
You can't use Passages this time because there's no moon to explore you instantly get the ending.

I think one more way to get into the thicket without an explosive vial is to use a passages book to take the blue sin route. Just gotta use any of those beforehand to block that off too

You can still get it with an emptyscroll! And this setup is way cooler than just saying "no"!
Some cases I have a bug that - probably - erase the menu control, so it cannot be opened for the rest of current save. So I can only regain my bars while fights, and only regain hunger by Consume or Wolf masks feast. That bug usually happen after Tormented defeated, I presume his blood pool cut scene is spaghetti-coded. More usually this cut scene do is blocking all skills outside of fight, until the next fight.
Oh yeah I think I know which bug you're referring to! I didn't want to use it as I didn't study it a lot and so there may be ways to unsoftlock it!
Im fairly confident if you lose to a coinflip attack as nashrah after losing your main charecter to a debug square you spawn as the main character. Which i mean as part if the softlock you killed every enemy you can do that on but its still a fun fact.
Yeah I think that should happen! Lucky that we killed all coinflips enemies!

I remember soflocking myself when i met nostramus in the caverns. If your facing the wall and choose reveal yourself. Your character is stuck.

Using that bug to make Ragnvaldr leave the party and only have Nas'hrah which you control.

And does the bug work with other characters? So for instance to play as Le'garde or the girl and get their ending. What would happen?

It's not exactly in line with the challenge in this video, but would it be possible to softlock yourself in the old passage?
- Get to the old passage
- Make sure your inventory is clear of empty scrolls and the passages of Ma'habre, and no phase step
- Use the guarenteed explosive vial on a body snatcher
- Save with a book of enlightment
- enjoy the remainder of your days/sanity chilling with the Old Guardian and enjoying the views of the Ma'habre skyline
Replayed the demo a bunch of times, and since the other endings simply aren't available in there, you're saying all I have to do is beat an Elite Guard? Lol

you DO can collect ragnvalder and the girl with that debug spot, i killed ragnavlder when he fought against legarde and sacrificed the girl but they were still there, with all their equipments
If they're dead you can't! If you sacrifice you can!

This video got me thinking, what is the worst achievable run? I don't mean getting naked and going for ending E. I mean, the worst items, worst weapon, worst armor, worst accessories, etc. Basically, picking the bottom of the barrel and yet getting one of the harder endings

@@frapollo94 for bottom of barrel, on top of my head, Leech spell comes to mind. But every slot has to be filled, otherwise one would just use poison and bleeding to cheese everything

Just realized you could have also make sure you never got a quill by resetting every time you got one until there isn't any more crates (which would have been an incredible amount of work +i don't know if the debugg spot gives you quills)

If you kill the elite guard in front of the legard gate you can't open it because the guard body interaction would be in the way

It's all fun and games until Frapollo leans into his microphone
i rewatched the video a few times and i wondered about something : the debug tile that gives you D'arce, Rag and the girl + infinite empty scrolls makes the protagonist a marriage, right? so, instead of disabling the use of the menu, wouldn't it be possible to use an empty scroll to teach phase step ( which would teach it to our protagonist, now marriage ), use it 5 times to deplete our mind completely and then kill the guard in front of le'garde's cell? this way, our protagonist (marriage) doesn't have any mind and can't recover any mind because he isn't in our party. it would now be impossible to use phase step, and ending E would be impossible.
Not only you'd be able to use empty scrolls to get mind restoring items, but also when you get phase step it isn't your main that can use it, it's you!

Alright i managed to patch it thanks to some tutorials. It can still be evaded and it is still a bad weapon, but at least it is fun. I had the idea to patch the monocle to increase invocation rate but did not find any options for it. Any idea how to do that?
What if one were to go trough all the crates and not find a small key?

I think there's a much easier way to lock yourself out of getting the Soul of the Endless: beat Skin Granny with the Girl in your party but say no to the goddess's request. This way, she will not give you the soul and without Cahara or Empty Scrolls there's no other way to get it
That's true, as I precised at the start tho I wanted to leave as many possibilities to whoever wanted to try to unsoftlock this, especially leaving bosses alive
If a party member dies on debug spot can you use it? In that case no need removing menu button.

Menu button was for empty scrolls, not for party members!
I visit all floor 1 once, then use debug spot to reset the floor for extra loots. When I meet Nosramus without torch, the game just pause in a cutscene indefinitely
