To bad it has many bugs if you decide to draw on a digitizer instead of using mannequins. The eraser tool messes stuff up, it crashes during scrubing, cursor disapears constantly and you have to click the mouse in order to use the pen again... Maybe I should make a video myself! Because i'm still using it every day with workarounds in order to avoid crashes and glitches.
okay i know this video is 3 years old, i just want to give a heads up to the people who considering using this as a main storyboard software. i have been using this for a live action webseries project, the 3d models are pretty intuitive, though i would say still lacking in controls, it's kinda annoying, but manageable. in shot generators (this is where you can use 3d models for storyboarding), you can set up cameras easily, plan for angles, even set up different lens sizes/length. You can also click on a character, and setup the angle and framing, which is very cool! i would say the tips is if you want to set up a pose, find one in pose library, if you cant get what you need, try to find the closest one to your desired pose, and work from there!
For non-drawing types it's really handy! The only 'catch' I found, which David mentions in his video, is the devs seem to focus more on adding new things rather than expanding/improving tools already in. But overall it's been great for me so far!
@@CameronKidd Hmm could you do the opposite? Save some mannequins camera angles upload them onto Photoshop and get a more detailed 2d drawing in 3D space? You could probably really get some crazy dynamic shots with this if you play around with it enough.
@@Binks129 It actually has Photoshop round-tripping built in! So yes, you could definitely do it the opposite way round, which might make more sense so you get a character pose then draw over within a scene. I use/approach this app like a director with low/no drawing skills so I couldn't speak to the depth of the tools for specifically drawing, but I do like the posing & shot selection tools it has with the 3D mannequins!
Yes you can. Reall any type but you may need to import it into blender which is a free software and then save your animal in a format that works for the storyboard software. There's a video that shows you how to do that. Just add to youtube browser at end watch?v=CYnic7I7_Og. Take a look and hope it helps with your project.
one question? i want to make a dance short videos of anime, the videos i found were all like made on mobile but i want to make them on my system? could i import video in this and make a story board of that video and then change the colors of that and import some hair or stuff like that????
This revolutionary, I mean God, bless the people who created this, even if it wasn't free pay good money for it, at last, can stop my terrible stick figure drawings lol
I'm approaching this more as a director/filmmaker than an artist, but CSP is much better and fleshed out for artists who can draw and use it for a lot more than just storyboarding; whereas this seems to be much more simplified for just storyboarding needs. The 3D space is also friendly to non-artists like myself who can use the posing tools and be good. This app is also free, which doesn't make it better but certainly more accessible.
The 3D animation of this program is ridiculously easy to follow and you know what’s crazy is that it’s free!
Many thanks for the tutorial, and all the people who developed the free software. Easy to follow and helps us who can't draw.
Thank you so much! This has been an amazing discovery to help with my animatics! You're a life saver!
was looking for free Ai for storyboarding, but this is much better. thank you
I appreciate the plug bro!
I made download today and already used the software. It's very useful. Thanks a lot!!!
thanks man, never knew such a thing exists haha, definitely will help me and my friends a lot

This app is awesome! I can't believe it's free. What's the catch?

this is so cool. I am definitely going to try this out!
Are you able to upload your own drawing from clip studio paint or procreate here and put it into 3D space?
I believe the 3D space is just for the mannequin posing in the app.
