Spinners on the Green in Scottsdale, Arizona is awesome. That's where I got my first discs and many more. They also run the Shelly Sharpe and Memorial tournaments.
The Throw Shop in Ypsilanti, MI. Ben is awesome and they have two 18 hole courses to play. Holdens in Milford or CJ's by Hudson Mills are also great retailers. Got to love the MI disc golf scene 😍
CJ's party store in Dexter MI and Holden's deli in Milford MI are my local shops! CJ's has a huge selection of thousands of discs and it's a party (liquor store for you non US people) store. Holden's has some great food, it's right by Toboggan (DGLO /Champions cup 2023) and some other great courses, and they have hundreds of discs!
@@ernestryles they are synonymous in Michigan and other states, but party store means a place where you buy costumes and things to most of the world. We also say pop instead of soda, get over it!
The Throw Shop.. best disc golf shop in lower Michigan, big selection and great advice. Two 18 hole courses, one is Located on an old ball golf course for a great kinda open track. Then an 18 hole course carved outta the woods in back. .. located in Ypsilanti, Mich.
6:38 the numbers are directly taken directly from the stats of the Discmania Active Line starter set. It's the same here in finland where an off-brand company, Atom, made an unapproved disc set with the numbers of the Innova starter set (2,3,0,1/4,4,0,2/6,5,-2,1). The discs are very understable, have no glide at all and they break after 3 tree-hits.
The basket is an Innova discatcher but unbranded. I bought the Innova stamped on in Sweden for $190 - for what ever brain dead reason I had at a time. But for what it is its works fine for moving around. BUT for $50-100, I'd say it's a good buy. It's not that bad.
Yeah. Looks exactly like an Innova Discatcher. I've got one of those, putts on it every day and a big reason I really improved my putting game. Love how easy it is to move it around as well.
Bought the Innova basket for about 190$ as well and so far it's been ok.. Like you said it is easy to carry around and practice wherever I want and tbh it is easy to assemble and dismantle.. But it was pretty disappointing to see them giving the off brand basket a 2.5 😢😅
Yup, copied Innova… the discatchers I use more for popup fun course at the park (like testing new layouts) instead of a putting practice basket. Or going on holiday where there are no disc golf course anywhere. They have their purpose.
I have an Innova as well (I think I paid $120 on sale). I feel like the chains are a little heavier on the Innova. Either that or those guys putt more firmly than I do. That's a possibility. Yes, the unfolding process is not intuitive.
Storm Disc Golf in Lubbock, Texas. Their (albeit currently small) line of discs has some amazing molds, they stock all the major retailers, and the used section is full of gems every time I'm in there.
My local store is the wright life in fort collins Colorado. When we first learned about disc golf my wife and i went there to buy some discs and the owner picked us each out a custom starter set instead of the boxed versions. Now anytime anyone asks about buying discs I recommend they go there!
Gotta Go Gotta Throw in Golden Valley MN and Chumba Discs in Phoenix were both fantastic. The owners of Chumba were incredible and really friendly and had a great lost and found program.
Dynamic Discs NWA - Springdale, AR next to JB Hunt Course. Great team. Awesome selection. I moved to Guatemala and really miss going in there to support my habit. Can't wait to come back and visit.
For those lights, you have to match the light color to the disc plastic color. Some combinations get blocked out completely (e.g. red light blocked by blue plastic). A quick lesson on light waves and color.
Those lights remind me alot of what viking discs sells here in Finland for 10€ / 4pack. And they are absolutely amazing in here since now it gets dark before 6pm. They make discs more understable so when you just keep that in mind or place them in very stable / overstable discs its going to be ok.
Flight distance is easy to determine......find a high spot... like 240 ft high....then drop the putter and it could land below you...maybe...that will give you the max distance...if duplicated more then twice out of 10 test flying drops...... If you don't achieve desired outcome.....repeat test until accomplished. Results may vary
My son had the 6 pack Gooso starter set gifted to him for Christmas, fine for what they're for. The plastic was extremely hard, fingers hurt when it rips off. The green disc is super understable but decent for him, kinda beat in valkyrie-ish. The red is overstable mid, and the blue blunt birdie style putter is really really really bad.
don't understand the hate for birdies lol. just picked one up and i love it for 10-20 ft putts. anything more than that and it's an aviar or something with actual glide
My favorite "local" shop is an hour away cuz we dont have one where I live. But its Nebraska Disc Golf Supply in Omaha Nebraska. Very knowledgeable owner. Its a great little store.
Cape Fear Games in Wilmington, NC. They sell disc golf stuff, board games, dnd, Warhammer, pokemon tcg, and more. Heath is always sponsoring local events and our local club
I bought a very similar set to the six-disc set on amazon about 8 years ago, but it was 12 discs for about $40. Make no mistake, they're bad discs. That said, I wanted a cheap way to try disc golf with my nieces and nephews. For that purpose, they were fantastic. We took a family vacation together, and we played 5 round that week. All four of us still play, so it was worth every penny.
Evolution disc golf in Saginaw Michigan. It's awesome. Ran by a guy named Scott and his wife and as I recall another buddy of theirs but they're always down in Chinatown. They've always got good advice and it's jammed packed full of plastic
Awesome video! Super fun concept... it's amazing how easy it is to get a cheap product to market, doesn't mean it's worth anything though! Grateful you're doing a lot of work to bring an awesome thing to market soon, and totally agree that you should shop local as much as you can!
Grey duck disc golf in cottage Grove MN, electronically inventoried massive selection, and the owner is really helpful. They usually get special editions out a couple weeks early. I'm a huge fission plastic nerd and he helped me find a hand full from axiom that i didn't even know about.

In the UK Ace Disc Golf are the best online retailer, the discs are a bit more expensive but you get a picture of the disc you are buying and some sweets, great service too.
I have the GOOSO set (I bought for my first attempt at the sport) and the red one is labeled putter and the blue one is labeled mid range. LOL this makes a lot more since.
Pluto’s in Knoxville TN. The widest selection I’ve ever seen, and bigger than most online retailers. Lol Super friendly and affordable. Tax is included too so that’s helpful
Most of the local shops closed around me that I knew of. Now my only source of discs that I can handle before I buy is academy. They do carry innova, dynamic/latitude/westside, and discraft discs. They stock them randomly so I have to check in every couple of weeks to see what’s new.
I feel like the top of that basket was supposed to be pushed up more which would push it out. Much like the bottom, I'm sure it'd be super hard and try to break a finger in the process.
If you live in the Fraser Valley in British Columbia (Abbotsford, Langley, etc.) then AceRunners is easily the best place around. They're on the Langley bypass near Sports Replay
Skip Amazon. You might get Franklin. Local retailer that set me straight after I started off wrong? Gary’s Shoe Repair in Jacksonville, NC. Now I know what you’re thinking: shoe repair and disc golf? They do both. Fantastic selection of new and used discs and an awesome staff that advocates for the sport and the other local businesses. Since they do shoe repair, it shouldn’t be a surprise that you may find some Vibram plastic. Be sure to play North East Creek Park, just a short drive around the corner. Disc Golf Depot in portland or is the BEST! original owner started it up from his garage, and they've always been super helpful and have an excellent selection!
The basket at the $100 price is like you said, fine, but for half that you can get a metal basket that looks and plays like one you will find at the course, only much thinner chains from Yaheetech. I have one and it works fantastic. But i wanted one that is easier to pack up and go, while the yaheetech one claims to be portable, it isnt as fast a setup as the innova knockoff one, i picked one up when it was on sale and had another 25% off so it was $60 at that price, i think its actually pretty good, one way to fix that tightness it has where it might snap a finger and is super hard to open and close, get a ratcheting tie down strap or two, and use them to slowly move it to right before it will pop all the way open, and leave it like that for a few days so the parts stretch out, after i did that, mine opens and closes super easy now, it has the detent in it when its open to keep it from closing so no reason it needs to be so crazy tight.
The second ones are the same discs Simon used on his channel for the $3 discs challenge, but they weren't stamped and just plain discs for some reason . Same colors and profiles though

I got a "Franklin" portable disc golf basket for about the same price as your "souzier" one, and yours seems way better, mine spits out everything, and the basket is like a damn trampoline
Loved the video! I got my first couple discs and basket on Amazon and the discs were ok (but turns out overpriced based on what the were) and the basket is only good at catching profanity. Got myself down to True North Disc Golf in Brantford and have all the (equipment, anyway) to play a lot better.
I used to play glow a lot. I never ànything other than clear/champ plastic for glow. Don't know how you would do it otherwise with any other product. (Never been a huge glow tape fan b/c it is not bright enough)
Love the uniqueness of the video. However, I will have to say that although that basket is....well....yeah, the basket that is made by Franklin has to be worse. Just to start with that one has plastic chains and it gets worse from there
Spinners on the Green in Scottsdale, Arizona is awesome. That's where I got my first discs and many more. They also run the Shelly Sharpe and Memorial tournaments.
360 Disc Golf Bremerton WA, awesome selection and great people who are knowledgeable and amazing supporters of our local disc golf scene!
Any other ones you know in Washington? I didn't see an online Shop? I'm all the way up in Bellingham currently i use gem discs in Idaho.
The Throw Shop in Ypsilanti, MI. Ben is awesome and they have two 18 hole courses to play. Holdens in Milford or CJ's by Hudson Mills are also great retailers. Got to love the MI disc golf scene 😍

That basket looks almost identical to the Innova Traveler basket, but blue in stead of yellow haha
Bria disc golf and Cosmic disc golf in new Jersey are my second (and third) homes!
I have an Innova Traveler basket, this one looks identical. Suspecting it's from the exact same factory line.

Thank you for 16:24 😂

I want to shout out Disc ‘n Dat in Florence KY. Great place!!
Birdie lights work pretty well as a basket light when doing a glow league. Cheap cost
The portable bascket seems very useful due to it's portability
Spin City Discs in Seffner, FL! Go see Johnny, tell him Sig sent ya!

Nothing wrong with the used bin - often less expensive and higher quality than "starter" sets from knock-offs.
I started with the franklin disks. Best of the cheap sets
Griplocked, Garland (Dallas area) TX! Across the street from Audubon Park
