I had that ball on the end of the Max Distance back in 1975... I wonder if it's still stuck on the wall in that alcove above the door outside room 3.... I'll have a look at Playtime...
If you drilled out the rivets for the rails on a GRIP bag it would be a perfect place to mount the Mojoh Ryzer without needing to attach to other visible areas. That's more work than most people are looking to do though unfortunately
The Max Distance grabber is way overpriced. The suction ball works when it wants to. Most of the time im using it to just push/pull my disc to the edge. Really salty I paid $140 for a fucking grabber when I oculd have just boughts a 90s toy suction cup ball and ziptied it to my existing grabber.

I got the max disctance retriever after seeing it at a nearby park and it's great. I like that the carbon fiber can be disassembled in case you get water in there which always annoyed me about the metal telescoping poles. I feel like it's going to last much longer (I have already gone through 2 metal retrievers in a little over a year.) and even if it does break you can just order individual parts. Worth the bigger price tag in my opinion especially if you play around as much water as I do.
I bought the MaxDisctance retriever a few weeks ago and have to attest for how awesome it is. It's fully carbon fiber, so lighter weight than comparable metal ones, and if a rod segment breaks you can order the individual carbon rod and replace it yourself super easy. Also it will make everyone jealous of your superior retriever. It grabs discs better than traditional rods - it looks gimmicky but somehow works, especially in the water. The only gripe I have is collapsing the rod back down requires you to be a little more careful to seat each large segment first before going to the next smaller rod. Overall extremely happy.

All you have to do is take the top off with the chains, and then the center pole wrap a piece of yoga mat around it with a couple bands of tape around it and then tape the top of the yoga mat onto the top of the pool to keep the yoga mat jammed down at the bottom of the cage, this will make it sure it does not ride up when the chains bang it. Then put the chains back on . If you want even quieter they sell rubber dip you can individually dip all the chains several times with a couple cans of rubber dip hanging the chains around the cage top loosely while they dry each coat if you want 4:16
The Disctance Retriever is nice, but it only works if you can see the disc. if the disc is in the water, but can't be seen, you are better off with a retriever that lets you drag for it. Still an awesome idea. With the Mojoh Ryzer, that looks like it would add a fair bit of weight to the bag, which kind of offsets the value in having the bag a little bit higher off the ground (and how does it work on slopes).
@Mojoh Gear that's like lugging around a clothes iron on top of water, discs, retrieve tools, small first aid kit if in the mountains or places with stinging bugs, and whatever else. I haven't gone past 10 discs max due to weight when playing a course. Typically, I play with 8 that are based on the weather and course I am at. My boyfriend has an 18+ disc bag that I will borrow for field work. That's about the max weight I could enjoy playing a course with if I was determined, carried it once, and that was enough. (Sure, I could carry more, but this isn't a camping trip, I don't want to be huffing and puffing). 8 discs at 155g comes to about the stand's weight. I generally play with 140-150's. So the stand easily doubles my weight for my standard disc carry, bringing it up to that of my boyfriend's larger bag. After trying his, I went with a lighter bag because of the weight. It would be a tough decision to buy this stand. One of the other options I am currently looking at is a lightweight camp stool, and it is 0.6 lbs. I can sit on it while waiting and then rest my bag on it when my turn is up. For me, how heavy this thing is takes the excitement out of it and is a hard sell. But my boyfriend might like it.
I use my stove burner to melt my discs back to shape all the time. PDGA states not to alter the disc from its original condition. Melting the disc back to its original shape or sanding it smooth is the exact opposite of that.

I think the PDGA rules allow for small sanding and repairs of small dents if you try to make the disc not cut your hand while throwing. But any sanding you do to try and change the flight characteristics of the disc makes that disc illegal
Oh no, more disc golf stuff I want to spend even more of my money on🙃 random question, but what sunglasses are you wearing in this vid? I've been iso a new pair lol

And no one likes having to grip a disc in certain spots because they're damaged.
Disc Doctor looks so awesome. The Ryzer just has too many cons for the benefit for me. It adds a lot of weight at 2.6 lbs. To put that in perspective that’s equivalent to 7 discs at 170 grams and that’s on top of your actual discs, bag, and other items like chalk. However it’s a cool concept and I hope to see it not cost more than the price of an average bag as well as a lighter option. Wow the Mojoh Ryzer looks amazing. As someone who's a pretty casual disc golfer, I still feel like I'd get my money's worth. I've had spiders and ticks crawl on my bag, not to mention mud, and that just seems like such a simple but effective mod to avoid all that. Only issue would be super steep hills. Thanks for the review!
Light sanding is okay provided you do not alter the disc. I had seen some people using pipe insulation and tape, often Duct tape or Packing tape for the pole often using 2 of the skinny pipe insulation.
I actually filled the center pole of my practice basket with Great Stuff expanding insulation foam, and that cuts down on the noise a ton. I'm surprised more people don't utilize this like in car chassis and grocery store shopping carts to cut down on sound reverberation, contributing to excess noise.
These are super cool! Going to have to get that disc doctor especially for these Colorado courses with WAY too many rocks lol

One thing is definitely for sure the sport is growing and it’s partly due to all of the innovation. Thanks to these product designers!
Honestly
Wow the Mojoh Ryzer looks amazing. As someone who's a pretty casual disc golfer, I still feel like I'd get my money's worth. I've had spiders and ticks crawl on my bag, not to mention mud, and that just seems like such a simple but effective mod to avoid all that. Only issue would be super steep hills. Thanks for the review!
I love the disc doctor product. Would totally buy one if shipping to Canada wasn’t the same as the price of the product itself.
I used hockey tape on my basket to silence the ring. Idk if it works any better, but if it costs more than a roll of hockey tape, it'd be a hard sell.
The Max distance is one of if not the best retriever on the market currently. In my opinion.
I've tried many disc retiver poles. The max distance one is the best for many reasons, including the price.
The legs on the Mojo riser wouldn't even need to be that tall.
Like they literally don't even need to be there LOL.
