You guys requested it so here is my review of the Xgimi Aura 4K Laser TV. The Aura is currently one of the lowest priced 4k ultra short throw laser projector. It competes with the Hisense L5 and Optoma Cinemax P2 but could it be considered the best ultra short throw projector for the money?

I ordered an Aura two days ago! I value your opinion, Chris, so I'm relieved to hear your positive review. I have a Vividstorm 100" floor rising ALR screen still in the box on the floor in my basement waiting impatiently for a new projector.

The jmgo U2 would of been better. At least the U2 is trilazer

Still waiting for you to review the Xiaomi "150 inch" laser projector. It retails for $2,000 in my country. Maybe a bit more in the USA.

Hey Chris, I've been watching a bunch of your videos over the last couple of years. One thing that is missing is any kind of coverage on Xiaomi projectors. Is that something you would ever consider covering? I'm particularly interested in their lower end Mini projector but they also have an UST 4k projector for example.

I've been using the Optoma UHD60 for the last few yrs. What 4k projector would be a good and worthy upgrade from that one for faster input lag in gaming, better color and sharper image? Is there one that offers 120hz with hdmi 2.1 that is reasonable? Thanks in advance.

Hey Chris, need your input. Planning to do a basement movie room but I have 7' ceiling. I'm looking at an UST to avoid the headaches of a ceiling mounted projector. I was leaning on the Hisense L9G based on your review. But with this Xgimi, should I reconsider? I also would like it to game and the L9G is attractive due to it supporting 4K60 and decent input lag. Is another in budget 4k Laser projector out there my friend bought was $2100 >>JMGO U2 , might be still SAME price .. BUT got a great quality sharp bright pic for the price, .. BUT the thing is , made only for 100" screen.

Nice video! I do own the xgimi aura and i love it. The only problem is that i can hear a loud laser whine / high frequency electric sound besides of the fan. Do you also notice this sound or is it obly s problem on my device? Thanks!
I purchased this projector, It has this orb on the bottom of the screen, I thought it was a dust speck on the lens. It not it on the inside of the lens. Is that normal or should I return it! It doesn’t show when playing games or movies , only during transition screen or wen the screen is black!

Epson better blacks and brighter image, Epson is very easy to install since is has motorized lens but I believe this one is sharper than Epson, I haven't seen the xgimi in person

Are there any laser projectors available that are just projectors...All the purchaser has to do is hookup all external sources, and go from there?

try xiaomi 4k laser. I think thats the king of the budget laser tvs.
I was considering this projector till I found that they do not sell via any US outlets. According to Xgimi support they have a warehouse in the US but it's more of a forwarding point. They don't stock inventory there. You order a projector and it is sent there then sent on to the buyer taking up to 30 days. For me that is a no-go mainly in terms of support, repair and return should you need to return it. Outstanding video as usual Chris.
Just got one off Amazon, arrived withing 3 days.

It's excellent for $2499.
However, once this hits $1999, it will the best pound for UST projector on the market. (Harmon Kardon speakers are Amazing)

Another good video. But I am very bored of lazer TVs now… I want the manufacturers to work on traditional projectors again and work towards making the better ones more affordable. The projector and home theatre market in the UK is poor.
May I know why bored of Laser TVs? any specific reason/concern?
The video excluded contrast ratio, which can be equally important as ANSI lumens.
I know its hard to get a good representation of the image quality with a camera. But it definitely looks more washed out and dimmer when compared to the the L9G and LSP9T that you've looked at recently. Certainly ALOT less expensive though.
For the price tho it holds its own very well
The review seems a little rushed.. some of the issues that you down-graded it on seem like they bear more investigation, like HDR on external devices, try and ATV not the Shield, see what happens. Could the laser whine you noted be unit specific perhaps? either other reviews don't look for this or they did not hear it? Overall it seems like a pretty good projector overall for the price..
Decent reasonably priced screens are in short supply at the moment which makes the Hisense you noted a good choice, but the fixed focus I've noted in reviews of this projector makes me wonder if you are getting optimal focus?
