This game broke the Steelers hard and they haven’t been the same since, this was the beginning of their one and done journey when they make the playoffs.
We were in Telluride, Co during this game with our best friends. 4 of us and 5 children. Got done skiing and caught the 2nd half. We were the only Jags fans in the restaurant/bar. 4th quarter came around and we had the whole place converted to Jags fans yellin' and hollerin'. This game will always hold a special memory for us. I really like how there seemed to be zero bad blood between the teams. Usually Jaguars and their opponents get heated on the field but Steelers players were helping Jags off the ground and vice versa. No altercations. Clean game and a great one at that. Starting the playoffs thinking they are the kings, when they haven't won a playoff match in 4 years, been to the SB in 9.... It really showed that the players were not prepared for the Brown's match. When you have been out of the playoffs for 2 years in a row, you should start being really focused, trying to put all your energy in every snap. Quite the opposite of what happened.

This Steelers offense was so talented, 2017 should have been their year. Terrible defense, the Shazier injury, the Jesse James catch, Mike Mitchell and others looking past the Jaguars, bad decision making in the playoff game (onside kick, 4th and short play calls) and most notably egos led to the Steelers downfall. Props to the Jaguars, that defense was incredible and if they had any other qb not named Blake Bortles they would have been playing in that Super Bowl against the Eagles

Fr the Pats beat the Steelers every time. The only way to beat the Patriots is running the ball and playing great defense and especially a good pass rush. If you look at who they have lost to this year you'll see the Dolphins with Suh and wake with Drake killing them on the ground and panthers with Short and also a good running team and Hunt went off when they played KC. If you look at the year before same story only loss came to the Seahawks. The year before that they lost to the Broncos twice, Jets, Dolphins, and Eagles all good defenses with good running games.
It wasn't a bad decision, that's just hindsight talking. Many teams would go for the onside kick there, especially when you can't count on the D to hold them from one 1st down, which would end the game. And it gives you 2 chances to get the ball back. But more importantly, no one is talking about who actually needs to be blamed: Boswell. Really bad onside attempt. Think about it, if Boswell kicks it beyond 10 yds and we don't recover, then they're further back plus there's no extra penalty yds, so if we hold them from a 1st down, either they're out of fg range or it's at the fringe of a very long & difficult attempt in extremely cold weather (ie, ball is as hard as a rock). You can blame coaching for the 2 terrible 4th & 1 calls, which is on Haley (even if Ben audibles, don't give him a damn pass play 20 yds downfield as one option!), but don't blame Tomlin here.
Imagine the Jags offense next season Bortles, Hurns, Robinson, Fournette, along with the Killer defense. Been calling it the last 2 seasons the jags are going places.
I think we should definitely explore our options. Bortles isn't as bad as many ppl think he is, but Alex and Kirk are definitely better and more consistent. When everyone is healthy, we have the most underrated receiving corps in the league imo, and I would love to see us get someone with a stronger arm.

Its crazy how far the Jags fell off last season, their defense is so stacked. Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, and Yannick Ngakoue are three of my favorite players in the league. Would like to see them bounce back this year.

I really like how there seemed to be zero bad blood between the teams. This Steelers offense was so talented, 2017 should have been their year. Terrible defense, the Shazier injury, the Jesse James catch, Mike Mitchell and others looking past the Jaguars, bad decision making in the playoff game (onside kick, 4th and short play calls) and most notably egos led to the Steelers downfall. Props to the Jaguars, that defense was incredible and if they had any other qb not named Blake Bortles they would have been playing in that Super Bowl against the Eagles

Fr the Pats beat the Steelers every time. The only way to beat the Patriots is running the ball and playing great defense and especially a good pass rush. If you look at who they have lost to this year you'll see the Dolphins with Suh and wake with Drake killing them on the ground and panthers with Short and also a good running team and Hunt went off when they played KC. If you look at the year before same story only loss came to the Seahawks. The year before that they lost to the Broncos twice, Jets, Dolphins, and Eagles all good defenses with good running games.

It wasn't a bad decision, that's just hindsight talking. Many teams would go for the onside kick there, especially when you can't count on the D to hold them from one 1st down, which would end the game. And it gives you 2 chances to get the ball back. I think we should definitely explore our options. Bortles isn't as bad as many ppl think he is, but Alex and Kirk are definitely better and more consistent. When everyone is healthy, we have the most underrated receiving corps in the league imo, and I would love to see us get someone with a stronger arm.

This was one of the greatest playoff games I have ever seen and one of the best quarterback performances I have ever seen by Ben Roethlisberger. Incredible game. Its crazy how far the Jags fell off last season, their defense is so stacked. Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, and Yannick Ngakoue are three of my favorite players in the league. Would like to see them bounce back this year.
