You really should be using a fruity balance in technique 1. Automating the mixer knob itself is bad 1)from a post mixing perspective but more importantly 2) those knobs are on an eponential curve and not linear. Better to just toss a fl balance at the end and automating that - then you use the actual knob to mix the total volume to taste.
Agreed, as soon as I saw this I put my head in my hands. Never, ever use a mixer fader like this. Arcade should know better, this is basic stuff and equally as disappointing he hasn’t commented or apologised on here by reply except a love heart emoji WTF.
Gated effects go back several decades, but a notable one was on the Jam & Spoon remix of 'The Age of Love' in 1992; a track that basically defined trance music. For much of the '90s, producers called the stuttering sound the 'Age of Love effect', but then it simply became a 'trancegate'. Back in the day you needed complicated outboard hardware (a noisegate) and cables to do it, but now there are a thousand ways to achieve it with plugins or within your DAW.
Akai's Flexbeat will handle most midi chop or fx that you need. I think you can also apply it to an audio track and achieve similar results. Took me a while to realize how useful Flexbeat is. I mean, most of these types of plugins fx can be replicated by just using your DAW's stock tools but the app makes it easy for you to explore the possibilities.
This works a treat if you use Shaperbox 3 or a similar ducker device. MIDI trigger it - you can customise the stutter/gate effect to cut in a very precise way
I love the Cableguys' stuff as the interfaces are quite intuitive and nice to look at, but it's kind of funny that some of the effects they provide (that have also been copied by other developers) were possible with FL Studio's freebie plugins about 20 years ago. The Fruity Peak Controller and LFO tool are really old, but they are as powerful as ever if you know what you're doing.
@@AutPen38also all these fx are straight up easy to make with basic automation most of the time 😂 but yea the Cableguys devices GUI make it quick and fun
Have to mention that if you send to reverb post fader, that channel will be affected by noise envelope too. For pre fader sends in FL, fruity send has to be used
Yaaawwwwnnnn... Wiinds me up with modern artists taking the credit for these fx. Weve been doing it since the 90s in ttance and rave using hardware compressor gates side chaining a sampler via a the high hat and kick channels of 909s and 808s.. its just got easier with the use of software plugins, but its nothing new 🤦
Hey man, your kick and bass always sound amazing on a small speaker, is it just good sound selection or do you have a specific way of processing them or layering them..?? Thanks.
I guess for the bass I use one layer for sub bass and one layer for more "high frequency" bass like a fuzz bass or something, that coukd be the reason. For the kicks I just use my pack STPL Sounds which has a lot of punchy kicks😁
I really dont like fiddling with grossbeat envelopes especially when trying to make different rhythms.. that being said if you look at the second part of the video where I show different uses, those cannot be done with grossbeat 👌
This video is just clickbait. Waste of time...SHEESH! The stutter is not only a pretty common and standard effect, it's been popular for years. Why claim it's "the most popular in 2023"? The only reason you'd say that and then go on to explain it like it's rocket science is to get clicks. But very well made video. I'll give you that, Arcade...😆
If you don't want to route the vocal to another track just simply put any balance or volume control in vocal effect tracks and use that balance knob to link to the controller. You can add any effect before and after the balance effect.
Another interesting thing I like to do is, find two drumloops that work well together and let only 1 of them sound, and let the other one control a pad or even a filtered loop with peak controller.

Thanks for the extra code. Had to grab the pack and look forward to all the future releases.

Thanks.. I was just about to complain about this but you already wrote a much better comment then I would've written 😂👍
best way to do it
the way arcade shows is so much complicated and takes so much time
gates: am i joke to you?

The 90s are calling...they want their effect back
I love you for existing
Genius! You can also use that peak controller technique to sidechain an 808, just link it to the 808's volume channel.
I would recommend putting effect like these on a gain plugin, like Fruity Balance, instead of the fader, so you don't lose control of the fader
noob mistake that one
Broh This is a great help for those just starting out, even now I really want to hear your complete "example song" xD
I think the first time I heard this kind of voice FX was in 2004 with Kyau & Albert's song -Made of Sun.
Is call gate 😂 Old like music

Thanks. I was looking for this technique.
Use gross beats its simpler

Magnificent 🥭🔥
You can also do this with Fruity Keyboard Controller! It’s easier to use, although Peak Controller gives you some more parameters to control.
awesomEEE
got my FL key 37 yeahhh
nice video mano.
Is there any video showing the mixing and mastering of a full music?
Thank you arcade, you ROCK!!
I am getting ready to buy the sound pack.

Thank you, my nightmare with automation clips of the volume ended finally
Some interesting creative ways to use this for sure, thanks!

Amazing trick, thank you Arcade!
Stutter FX’s are sick 🙌
So happy to learn this as well . Thanks Man 💯🥂
This is really good
And this brings back so much nostalgia when producing trance saw melodies 🥰 FL Studio 7 😂
WOW I want the full track!
There are many stutter effect plugins on the market to get the same effect...and with less effort.
U can controle a furtibalance instead so u can do the effects on the same chanel
wow thax pal and the song is a banger
Yes!!! Another video from arcade❤🔥🔥
Díky moc!
QUE AULA! OBRIGADO
Isn't it the same as a gate effect ?
Thank you.

For your higher frequency bass, is there a certain frequency you aim for..??
I'll be checking out your STPL pack also..!!! 👍👍
Awesome 🔥
using sidechain with fruity limiter!
Sounded like Star Wars!
and the Fruity Granulizer?
For Ableton please
Yes, how do I get the most _DYNAMICS_ in Ableton?
You also do it with a trance gate or Lfo Tool something?
Congratulations....you just explained sidechaining
I mean the video starts "something shrilled and fredagain do that I think you should learn..." yeah if that was the way to success...oh my lawds
Multiple possibilities.❤️🤝🏻
Good stuff
👍 - also for the YT algo! 😊
Ivan torrent Dandelion song remake please sir❤
👍👍👍👍
It's not new. They did it in the 80s with a gate :)
🔥
👏👏👏👏
That vocal sample sounds like Star Wars lol
Unrelated, But have yoou thought of Collabing with TheFatRat? Just a silly question 😅.

@@ArcadeFL thank you for the answer :)
Hello Arcade! I responded to your email a few days ago. I hope you have the opportunity to check it
It's more easy in Ableton to do this! ❤
Nice maybe i can use it in fast slap house bass
Slovák?🤔

Gross beat 💀

Try grossbeat's volume section jeez! Shaperbox even better.
Amazing ⚡️
ty for this brooooooooooooooooo
the white noise melody sounds like drums on the c64. :)
better names peak controller master tutorial
More of a 90s technic not 2023
Shaperbox and Gross Beat left the chat
Nice 👍
0:52 Jojis theme starts playing
nice, thanks bro!
Awesome technique… how can we do it in Ableton?

Tq. Bro. 🫂. 1. Big fan titurial. Arcade
Man why dont you just use gross beat?? One of the best stock plugins
🙌👌
Just use gross beat
Gross beat add that noisy "click", is useless
Just wonderful and wonderful and wonderful👍👌👌👌👌
Thanks a lot man for this trick

Thank you so much. I`ve been looking for it.
Phonk vocals plz
AMAZING!
Why not just use Gross Beat, or a simple Volume automation? FL has great shapes to style that effect.
This is more practical and customizable 👌 I personally don't like fiddling with the automation lines.
@@ArcadeFL gotcha!
Please make a video for noobs that dont understand HALF of what you do in this video. Explain it in detail every click you do in fruity,
I mean this was pretty detailed and step by step.. you can definitely recreate it if you try!
Nice work
