I watched a bunch of those movies about kids skiing, skateboarding, playing hockey. They felt so stupid even when I was a kid. This episode has the jokes on point.
I must've forgotten all the sex scenes in Johnny Tsunami.

I too am an Aussie that’s never seen snow. I’ve also never seen a school shooting or a bill for a blood test, so overall I think I’ll be ok

Y'all mustn't have watched many of those '80s ski movies. This episode was a spot on spoof, plot to soundtrack! And yes the ski shop guy was a guest star Dean Cameron.
I understand them all but its simply a weak episode for sure. Not a great one.

One of my favorites, such a cool take on 80s films they nailed it, ski school was hilarious, South Park did a similar episode too

The weirdest detail about this episode, is that the actor who played Drisco, was NOT in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High. But his roommate, who he drove to the audition, was.
The roommates, one is Chris Farley's brother. The other guy was in Children of the Corn and The 'Burbs

There were a lot of 80’s ski movies this episode is parodying. Mainly Better off Dead and Ski Patrol and Ski School. But there’s more too. And the bully or his sidekick a lot of times had a sidekick who would do a high pitch laugh like Dennis did.
I always forget that they gave Charlie a “Dennis” style sex montage lmfao😂
This episode is much better if you've seen any of these 80s ski movies.
Better off Dead is a good one though.

80's ski movies are all summarized by this episode. It's also pretty funny how in the context of an 80's comedy, the gang are actually not the worst people. Now that I'm thinking about it, this episode might be a representation of rewatching their favorite comedies from the 80's and realizing how out of touch with reality they were.
The Poconos are a few hours north of Philadelphia and a few hours west of NYC, and they are technically mountains, but more of a highlands without distinct peaks. There are some ski resorts, but this was clearly filmed in the Sierra Nevada or the Rockies.

This episode is mostly spoofing the movie ski school from 1980s. The guy that works there is the actor from the original movie.

There's snow in Philadelphia (although with global warming not as much as it used to), but more hills than mountains. For skiing, you go to the Poconos (pronounced exactly as Mac does in the storm episode).

I always thought this was a weird episode, then again I've never seen any of the movies it's parodying. There's still plenty of laughs, and I enjoy it more on rewatch, but it's probably one of the weaker episodes of the series in my opinion.
This was actually one of my least favorite episodes.

Nahhhh its a weak episode. I love those old movies but it doesnt mean anything. This wasnt a great episode no matter how much nostalgia you got from it.
