Instead of coming up with, what, 20 unique animations, they just reuse the base moves, add some sparkles, and continue sucking off Charizard. I didn't care much for the selection of Pokemon that got exclusive Z-moves, but at least they all got unique cinematics. No such effort is shown 3 years and a console generation later.

@@kieranpearson5096 the casual scene is much bigger than the competitive scene, and GF panders to the casual. It's no secret people want mega evolution back so it would be the most logical thing for GF to do.
@@kieranpearson5096 Yeah gigantamax is way more balanced. Eternus has a BST of 1125 with gigantamax, and a move with 200 BP
Edit: It appears you can't use Eternus' gigatamax but the mechanic still has the problem that Z moves had of being arbitrarily strong.
@@kieranpearson5096 no the mega evolution was only unbalanced for a few Pokemon. Hell, for some like Garchomp and Blaziken it was a downgrade or served no reason for existence.
