He is also doing livestreams from his home right now. He is doing acoustic versions of his solo work and HIS VOICE IS GLORIOUS. Wow! Seboss12 is posting them to you tube and there are some on his channel as well.
If memory serves me right Avi won the first ever award for human bass guitar, and is a classically trained opera singer. During the competition show "The Sing Off" Avi and Kevin got to be know as "Meat and Potatoes"because of the way they held down rhythm section in Pentatonix.
Avi did all the vocal tracks, including the killer bass undertones. There are instruments, mainly percussion, playing. Live version includes keyboard, drums, bass and electric guitars. Check out Full Moon to hear more of his higher range. He has an acoustic version - with him playing the guitar while singing.
@@jeancaldwell5391 You're not wrong. I think there's more percussion than just a drum, but he tweeted right after the premiere that he uses some percussion and "a little bit of organ," but that all the vocals are him. My impression is that he didn't necessarily PLAY the organ and percussion (though I'm sure he could).
@@janetranslates not sure if he can play the organ, but I bet he did the percussion by himself, in Pentatonix he used to do some minor stuff to assist Kevin in the percurssion so I guess he can handle it

It just started a huge rabbit hole,, ive been listening to all his new stuff lately. I cant get enough of this song. Avi gives off serious Viking vibes in this I swear it ought to be a Viking anthem. As far as what Avi posted its all him.
Based on the sound, I think most if not all of the percussion was body percussion, like claps, stomps, finger snaps, and probably chest thumping for the "bass drum". The only thing I can hear that is definitely an instrument is a keyboard or synth in the bridge section.

The really low stuff in the background is him. He did the same effect for the soundtrack of the move Blade Runner 2049. Look for the "Wallace Headquarters" version on u-tube and you'll here it there way at the bottom of your hearing, and not realize at first it's an actual voice... Avi's voice.
Yess , my favorite , you make my day :) :) !! I love his music (and him as a person as well ) , it's so different then with PTX ( which I love as well ), but his own music is more folk/bleugrass. I love the tone of his voice, it's like dark chocolate :), so warm and rich !! He's a great vocalist , but does a lot of whistling in his songs and he can do overtone singing , you should check that out, it's awesome !! All the vocals you hear are his , there's only some organ in it and a tambourine I think. Other great songs are "Full Moon" , " I'll get by" , "Born in California" . Well , actually every song of him is great ( sorry, I will stop fangirling now , LOL )

@@jasenyoface7555 I've been following Pentatonix since season 3 of the sing off show. Extremely talented and their range of music is rediculous. Can't go wrong with anything they do. Thank you for your response. I'm pretty sure we have all taken human interaction for granted! Lol
I would absolutely love to see Avi sing "Old Man River." I fell in love with that song when I was really young. The man that made the song famous would close out Memphis in May with it every year.
Avi is doing all of the bass and vocals, the only instruments here are the percussion and the organ, but the rest is Avi’s voice. He goes really low here, C1 in growl and G#1 and probably one chest G1.
He has so many textures & such a range. I love hearing the different colors in his voice from song to song. This was his raw carnal sound. All him. His creation. Love it!! I also loved the melancholic strength in his vulnerability in the PTX cover of Imagine (all of PTX were genius of course.....plus......John Lennon❤) & their original song Run to You (mostly penned by himself & Kevin).....it's literally ethereal. I get lost EVERY TIME.
This song takes me to some warrior movie. Perfect song for going into battle (in my opinion). Also love Otherside and The Summit. Love the range of Avi!
Avi Kaplan. Tim foust. Geoff castelucci. They Lal so amazing. Voiceplay and homefree are mind blowing as you have seen voctave "come all year faithful" if you want some real goosebumps
I'll add another Avi request, but it's not one that is mentioned here. The first solo single he released (well, Avriel and the Sequoias, which was his first solo project) was entitled "Fields and Pier". It is *not* a cappella (he plays his guitar throughout, there are strings, and Kevin's custom-tuned cello is heard as well), but it is a wonderful song. The scenery is lovely too--Avi searched for locations to film the video, and while much of it was filmed in Central California (where he grew up), the pier is in Oregon. It is very different from anything he ever did with Pentatonix, and is quite different from "Change on the Rise" as well (although, to be fair, *everything* he has done is different from "Change on the Rise").

Avi is actually an incredible musician as well as a vocalist.
This has the depth of an old time spiritual. Wow.
So happy you found Avi solo. He's amazing!!!
Avi Kaplan. “Quarter past four” is my favorite for hard times like this!
The really low stuff in the background is him. He did the same effect for the soundtrack of the move Blade Runner 2049. Look for the "Wallace Headquarters" version on u-tube and you'll here it there way at the bottom of your hearing, and not realize at first it's an actual voice... Avi's voice.
That's simply amazing to listen to.
U get the goosebumps I get the shiver down my spine and just melt to the floor
Yess , my favorite , you make my day :) :) !! I love his music (and him as a person as well ) , it's so different then with PTX ( which I love as well ), but his own music is more folk/bleugrass.
I love the tone of his voice, it's like dark chocolate :), so warm and rich !! He's a great vocalist , but does a lot of whistling in his songs and he can do overtone singing , you should check that out,
it's awesome !!
All the vocals you hear are his , there's only some organ in it and a tambourine I think. Other great songs are "Full Moon" , " I'll get by" , "Born in California" .
Well , actually every song of him is great ( sorry, I will stop fangirling now , LOL )
Full Moon has been my anthem lately. Well, more like the song that eases my stress and calms my soul.
@@jelinenanashi9466 I saw him singing this song with a choir a year ago on RUclips and fell in love with the song right away. It made me so happy that it's on his new EP :) !
The acoustic version that he did on the you tube livestream with his band is my absolute favorite version of Full Moon. His voice was stellar in that one.
My favorite singer , glad you've discovered him!
I like that shirt bro! Sriracha!!! Keep rockin' my new friend! Just stumbled on your channel. Good stuff!
we're keeping it spicy over here - thanks for rocking with me!
@@jasenyoface7555 I've been following Pentatonix since season 3 of the sing off show. Extremely talented and their range of music is rediculous. Can't go wrong with anything they do. Thank you for your response. I'm pretty sure we have all taken human interaction for granted! Lol
Avi is awsome this is one of my favourites love his voice!
This is an awesome song just hearing for the first time
I would absolutely love to see Avi sing "Old Man River." I fell in love with that song when I was really young. The man that made the song famous would close out Memphis in May with it every year.
Avi is doing all of the bass and vocals, the only instruments here are the percussion and the organ, but the rest is Avi’s voice. He goes really low here, C1 in growl and G#1 and probably one chest G1.
I am so glad you came up in my recommendations! It's delightful to watch a person enjoy art with pure enthusiasm and no reservations. You're fun. :)
This is All Avi !!!!!
Ok...dang that was such a great song!
This song takes me to some warrior movie. Perfect song for going into battle (in my opinion). Also love Otherside and The Summit. Love the range of Avi!
Thanks, Leslie
There are some minor percussion (tambourine) that isn't him. But otherwise this is all him. He layed tracks. Amazing!!!!
Avi Kaplan. Tim foust. Geoff castelucci. They Lal so amazing. Voiceplay and homefree are mind blowing as you have seen voctave "come all year faithful" if you want some real goosebumps
You should really react to “Man of Constant Sorrow” or “Hillbilly Bone” both by Home Free
Joshua Braselton Tim Foust is a King. Not to mention Austin? ♥️
Yes! Pretty pretty please! I was a die hard PTX fan until i discovered Home Free... my favorites are Man of Constant Sorrow and Elvira.
Always love Avi reactions.
All voices are him, tracked.
This video will have to go into my watch later list because I will stay up all night thinking about Avi as a concept
My god, fields and pier is definitely my favourite song from Avi. It's so relaxing
