Thank you so much. Elizabeth, this encounter is truly wonderful and rich because of your marvelous listening, light, and immense subtlety... Love, Sylvan
Thank you, Elizabeth. An American here who loved Faith, Hope & Carnage. I tell my friends about the book, and I’m looking forward to another listen soon. I think it’s just a matter of time before the book/conversation spreads out here too … And I’m subscribing
Don't need the need Or perspire with desire Don't sink and bleed Or yearn by that fire No way is failsafe Is but a lie This way is failsafe Do not deny Do not, don't, do not, don't Does not exist and it won't They say negation is salvation But I do not adhere To decompose and diagnose Is free and light and real
Made me think of the Buddhist story of Kisa Gotami and the Mustard seed - in it the Buddha counsels a grieving mother unable to come to terms with her son's death to visit her neighbours door-to-door and to collect a mustard seed from each household untouched by death.
Here’s the sacred. Having worked for five days in a very demanding environment, in which one is constantly holding things together as best as one can, you get the weekend. The weekend is the sacred. Staying in bed, ordering a pizza in, listening to music, drinking coffee. Doing what you want. That’s the sacred. There’s the miracle, life allowing you a weekend. And you can do what you want.
What a profound and moving conversation!
Thank you... ☝️😎
Great discussion- depth and doubt articulated beautifully

Got here from PVK, thank you for hosting conversations like this!
Don't need the need
Or perspire with desire
Don't sink and bleed
Or yearn by that fire
No way is failsafe
Is but a lie
This way is failsafe
Do not deny
Do not, don't, do not, don't
Does not exist and it won't
They say negation is salvation
But I do not adhere
To decompose and diagnose
Is free and light and real
