@@revilogfx You're right ofcourse, but to be able to witness this kind of honest intimacy between two co-creating kindred spirits of this caliber is kind of mind blowing.
Black leather Knee high boots with spiked heel for me because they are beautiful with a hint of darkness and danger which is how Nick and music always makes me feel
Listening to this zoom session was a pleasure. For me, Ghosteen will forever be a healing record. Over the quarantine months, long walks with it kept me well. Carnage is lovely, too. Thanks for sharing your work.
A fantastic album, one of Cave's best, so cool to see he and Warren Ellis doing something other than instrumental film scores, even though those are great too. Come to Florida😭!
Ridiculous question. Utterly absurd, hang your head in shame. If you miss the rest of the Bad Seeds so much you can always play all the old records. Nick and Warren have produced all their great work in the last decade anyway, with very little input from the rest of the band. Yoko Ono did not 'cause' The Beatles to split by the way, they were well and truly doing that anyway. Hope this helps.
@@johnarundell7951 not a ridiculous question as she also sparked period of creativity for The rest of the Beatles. So it can be taken two ways . Maybe you missed what Nick said.
Why would or "should" a silly little aside be put on a record? If you want stupid skits and other shit like that you 'should' probably go to the hip hop world where such nonsense is de rigeur. Alternatively you can sample this interview and replay it to your heart's content.
@@johnarundell7951 Ohhhh please lighten the fuck up! This wasn't a silly skit. The ending between them was so incredibly beautiful and intimate, and it sounds sadly like you don't get it and need a little love in your life.
What people who don't play in bands usually don't know is, that bands need a shift from time to time that keeps them from getting repetitive. Much like any relationship. What Nick said about Yoko makes a lot of sense and hints that he may have leaned from the Beatles. Changes are not easy that's why we should change before we "get" changed.
Hi, Carnage makes me go back to a time where life might not have been easy but there where stories, stories of people that had 'been' there. revisiting those stories made me realise how much they've meant to me and shaped my life. Carnage is the fire a phoenix rises from, thanks.
It strikes me that Nick's 2 most recent record titles are encouraging. "Gho" as in go & Carn as in Australian vernacular. I've always liked c'mon also. I'm liking the cover of carnage, its set there little playful like
Interesting..."Gokarna"...is a wonderful spot in southern India....a 'holy town'...that means 'cows ear'(the town sticks out from the mainland and knda has that shape) ....a gently chaotic(for India) brahmin town..with cows regularly stormng the temples for food offerings made for the gods... a stroll over the headland to a couple of 'isolated' beaches would be pleasant having either album tickling the ears as accompaniment!
I'm not quite sure why but I didn't expect Warren to say to Nick "I don't know. You're the technical one" regarding technology and computer settings. If I were to guess who would be "the technical one" I'd have guessed Warren given that Nick has been known to work with typewriters whereas Warren works often with synthesizers.
Normally speaking, 2 artists talking about their work would be something I'd avoid like testicular blunt force impact, for fear of it being pretentious wank, which these things often are. Actors talking about a script, or a role, I often find to be painfully insincere......... but never mind, these 2 are so natural + they relate to each other, + we listeners, in such a down to earth manner it just comes across as honest + I could listen all day long. It's completely wank-free, it says so much about these 2....... f'ing geniuses, but there's no bullshit in how they talk about their work....... many others, as I said, it's just pure bs, masturbatory crap that makes me cringe.
Asking Warren if there's any instrument he can play nearby is like asking someone if there's air around them so they can breathe :)
Witnessing music history in real time. We are blessed. More of this please!
We love you to Nick and Warren!
Technically a recording. But still amazing.

This just feels like two socially awkward friends having a good chit chat…whilst still being adorably dorky and nerdy.

Should Nick sing a track with Camille O'Sullivan?
