  • ACIDIC BOTTLED WATER?
    I tested the pH of 24 cheap and expensive bottles of water with a pH reagent drop kit! Results will vary but it is the water color/pH scale coordination is a pretty accurate measurement you can use as a tool to finding out the pH of drinking water!
    pH IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE:
    Starbucks Tap Water: 8 (ALKALINE)
    Wegmans Spring Water: 5-6 (ACID)
    Kings Spring Water: 6.5-7 (ACID/NEUTRAL)
    Deer Park Spring Water: 6-6.5 (ACID)
    Fred Water: 5 (ACID)
    Dasani Purified Water: 4 (ACID)
    VOSS Water: 6 (ACID)
    Aqua Hydrate Purified Water: 8.5 (ALKALINE)
    Smart Water: 7 (NEUTRAL)
    Poland Spring Water: 6.5 (ACID)
    Eternal Natural Alkaline Water: 8-8.5 (ALKALINE)
    1907 New Zealand Alkaline Water: 8-8.5 (ALKALINE)
    Icelandic Glacial Water: 8.5 (ALKALINE)
    Acqua Panna Spring Water: 8.5 (ALKALINE)
    Fiji Natural Artesian Water: 8 (ALKALINE)
    Core Hydration Water: 8 (ALKALINE)
    Life Water pH: 6.5-7 (NEUTRAL)
    Essentia Hydration Water: 8.5-9 (HIGHLY ALKALINE)
    Qure Purified Water: 8.5-9 (HIGHLY ALKALINE)
    Evamore Natural Artesian Water: 8.5 (ALKALINE)
    Evian Natural Spring Water: 8 (ALKALINE)
    Our Sink Water From Our House: 8 (ALKALINE)
    Our Filtered Fridge Water: 8.5 (HIGHLY ALKALINE)

      Battle Hands even if it varies from bottle to bottle, you shouldn’t drink anything above 9.5 when it comes to pH though. you can cook with it but you shouldn’t drink it.

    Although alkaline drinking water is considered safe, it may produce negative side effects. Some examples of negative side effects include the lowering of natural stomach acidity, which helps kill bacteria and expel other undesirable pathogens from entering your bloodstream. Additionally, an overall excess of alkalinity in the body may cause gastrointestinal issues and other skin irritations. Too much alkalinity may also agitate the body’s normal pH, leading to metabolic alkalosis, a condition that may produce symptoms of:
    nausea
    vomiting
    hand tremors
    muscle twitching
    tingling in the extremities or face

  • @vialyncastilla6710
    @vialyncastilla6710 2 года назад

    This is super cool!! But did you know that just because it’s alkaline, doesn’t mean it is healthier? I’m a dental hygiene student and did a research paper on comparing popular bottled waters. I read that some of the more alkaline waters’ pH are altered through electrolysis, or the splitting of the water mol- ecule into hydrogen and hydroxide ions with an electric current (depending on the filtering processes). Sometimes the alkaline pH is created artificially, and does not actually match the mineral content of the water which is what causes the pH to be on the more alkaline end. It’s important to note the difference between natural alkaline and artificially created alkaline waters. You should look at the total dissolved solids (minerals) rather than just the pH of the waters! I thought this was super interesting cuz although it sounds healthier for us to drink, it’s artificially made so it’s not actually that much better because it doesn’t contain much of its original mineral content.

    You might want to explain why ph matters for drinking water

    • @FahrenheitMusicLuver
      @FahrenheitMusicLuver 7 лет назад +57

      TuckerLovesHimself He said it in the beginning. Healthy blood pH level is neutral pH 7.0. If water is more acidic, then it is more processed and lacking in nutrients.

    • @keaerabrown5129
      @keaerabrown5129 7 лет назад +9

      Can you do a similar video on how lemon helps those same waters increase in ph? Even though we know which waters are more acidic now, some might not have access to the higher quality waters.

    • @MartinRiese
      @MartinRiese 7 лет назад +8

      The ph in water does not matter at all. The whole alkaline idea is just a big marketing gimmick. When you drink water your water will become acidic right away in your stomach, because your stomach fluids are highly acidic. When you would try to balance out your stomach fluid to neutral you will die.
      Please stop thinking about ph in water and start to worry what is actually in your water. Is it highly processed purified water, which is nothing else than filtered tap sigh barely any minerals and electrolytes dissolved or comes the water from a natural occurring source, which is filled with natural and health minerals and electrolytes.

    Been waiting for you to drop this video since you posted about it on snap ! :) .. I'm from Florida & I drink a lot of zephyrhills which claims to be 100% natural Florida spring water. I bought the drops on amazon , so I can't wait to do some testing myself. Awesome video Brett! Love you & Carli !

    I did this about 6 months ago and I immediately stopped drinking Aquafina water!!!! And those expensive waters that are in hotels that they charge you 4 dollars for if you drink them are bad too. This is so eye-opening. The Icelandic water is the only water i've seen in hotel fridges that's not bad for you.

    Hey Brett!! 👋🏽
    Question: Can adding lemon/lemon juice to an acidic or neutral water alkalize it?
    Thanks for this really helpful video 😊

    Pretty cool video! I never really cared about the quality of the water. Always thought water was water, it's all good for you. Def something to think about the next time I make a purchase.
