(I actually use a snipping program called Ginj (based upon a defunct program called Jing). Also for some reason (by design?) my scroll bars don't show, I found use ctrl + mouse wheel for horizontal and alt + scroll wheel for vertical movement :)
Click on the Preferences menu item, then click on the Preferences option. This will bring up a window. Click on "Eschema" and then uncheck the box in front of "Restrict Busses and Wires to H and V Orientation"
