They also currently still working on Sands of Time remake, which so obvious this new POP here is like the "substitude" for a while till they finally can again show the Sands of Time remake.

It looks way better now. I guess the rap in the trailer was a bit off putting. I still don't like the art style and the fact that it's a side scroller but it looks very decent. I'd love a darker atmosphere like in Warrior Within and but I respect the new approach. It has all the key elements like complex parcours and fighting and the use of the sands of time obviously, those are the most important things to me
Assassin's Creed started out as a pitch for a POP spin-off where you play as the prince's bodyguards. of course it ended up becoming it's own thing, but I like that the idea is finally getting realized in some capacity.

You understand so much about what makes a good PoP (especally in 2D, like many titles were in the series contrary to what some people here thinks) that I can't wait to play it! It's a good direction, as we've seen it narratively works (specifically when the old doesn't get entirely outed.) It does make me feel a bit uneasy, which is probably the "purist" in me. As a Persian game artist I think they did a great job bringing back the pre-Islamic Persian environments and the animations and gameplay looks amazing. But there are some elements that are not so much close to the Persian identity. My main issue is the armours and weapons that are still heavily inspired by Islamic Persia which we have seen in the previous Prince of Persia games. Another problem are the immortal Persian guards, specially the main character which is more like modern African-American game characters. The vast ancient Persia was a multicultural kingdom that ruled some major civilization such as Babylon, India and Egypt but from small remains of ancient Persian culture ( Thanks to Alexander the great) ,we haven's seen any character with side shaved afro hair style. Even the accent doesn't match the Persian accent.

It’s interesting how they took the premise from an unreleased Prince of Persia game which would eventually become the Assassins’ Creed series. Instead of the Assassins protecting the prince it’s one of the Immortals, elite ancient Persian guards.

The game looks soooo good!! The combat looks so frenetic and fun, and the platforming is gonna be god-tier! I keep forgetting this dev studio worked on the 2D Rayman games, which I think are some of the best platformers ever made, so I know they’ve got the platforming on lock. I’m just so excited to play this!!
The gameplay looks really good, how they showed simurgh and other old babylon (-ish?)/persian creatures. It is inspired by Metroidvanias and I like Metroid games and Hollow Knight. Everything looks really good BUT they had to force diversitiy here like in every netflix show. Just look at them in 0:58. Left one is a big freaking guy that looks like a celt warrior from one of provinces of Persia in Anatolia. The second one from right and left look persian to my persian eyes. Protagonist could literally look like persian with a bit of beard (let's be honest. I hate beards but every ancient persian had beards or moustache), the woman on his right is probably form south west provinces of Persia (probably south of Egypt). The right one I cannot really see. Now the biggest problem: They "are" immortals, immortals were an elite force made of persians, medes or were from Elam (most of them were persians and medes though). Elamites were native people who lived before Persians, Medes and Parthians moved to where (almost) Iran is now, so they look a bit darker. Now my question arrises how a celtic and black woman warrior were in Immortals? Which mf persian had hairs like the protagonist? At least don't say they are immortals when you exactly know that immortals didn't look like that. You want a typical ancient persian? Something like the second one from right, he can have a bit just a bit darker skin tone if you want but his hair would never look like the one in middle. Have a nice day.
Thanks for the historical facts. Always nice to know. However it’s not a historical game, but a game set in a fantastical world inspired by ancient Persia So i think it’s still a good idea to have variety in your characters, so that their design stand out better from each other.
I agree that you guys are trying hard to provide the fans. But, we don't need this game, either remake the trilogy or make a new 3d game. You guys could have made this game 3d with good gameplay and next gen graphics. Also, this could have been released for mobile or Nintendo switch only. But for pc and console, it is completely stupid. A franchise like Prince of Persia does not deserve this.

It’s interesting how they took the premise from an unreleased Prince of Persia game which would eventually become the Assassins’ Creed series. Instead of the Assassins protecting the prince it’s one of the Immortals, elite ancient Persian guards.

This game looks like it's about to filter hardcore players and players who should play on games journalist mode. Some of these sequences look like Super Meatboy.
Ubisoft need to revive proper Prince of Persia. POP Warrior Within was such a great game with so many good fighting mechanics and time slow thing etc.

it's lovely how ppl at first hated this game and u changed that in matter of days, just hope the story makes sense of how the great prince was easly captured and needs a rescue, and please another sequel to 2008 PoP game too!.

The game looks soooo good!! The combat looks so frenetic and fun, and the platforming is gonna be god-tier! I keep forgetting this dev studio worked on the 2D Rayman games, which I think are some of the best platformers ever made, so I know they’ve got the platforming on lock. I’m just so excited to play this!!

Looks and feels fresh
The gameplay looks really good, how they showed simurgh and other old babylon (-ish?)/persian creatures. It is inspired by Metroidvanias and I like Metroid games and Hollow Knight. Everything looks really good BUT they had to force diversitiy here like in every netflix show. Just look at them in 0:58. Left one is a big freaking guy that looks like a celt warrior from one of provinces of Persia in Anatolia. The second one from right and left look persian to my persian eyes. Protagonist could literally look like persian with a bit of beard (let's be honest. I hate beards but every ancient persian had beards or moustache), the woman on his right is probably form south west provinces of Persia (probably south of Egypt). The right one I cannot really see.
Now the biggest problem: They "are" immortals, immortals were an elite force made of persians, medes or were from Elam (most of them were persians and medes though). Elamites were native people who lived before Persians, Medes and Parthians moved to where (almost) Iran is now, so they look a bit darker. Now my question arrises how a celtic and black woman warrior were in Immortals? Which mf persian had hairs like the protagonist? At least don't say they are immortals when you exactly know that immortals didn't look like that. You want a typical ancient persian? Something like the second one from right, he can have a bit just a bit darker skin tone if you want but his hair would never look like the one in middle.

Thanks for the historical facts. Always nice to know. However it’s not a historical game, but a game set in a fantastical world inspired by ancient Persia So i think it’s still a good idea to have variety in your characters, so that their design stand out better from each other.

I agree that you guys are trying hard to provide the fans. But, we don't need this game, either remake the trilogy or make a new 3d game. You guys could have made this game 3d with good gameplay and next gen graphics. Also, this could have been released for mobile or Nintendo switch only. But for pc and console, it is completely stupid. A franchise like Prince of Persia does not deserve this.
