I'm pretty sure if anything is happening between them and they haven't made it public, it is either not true or something they want to keep private. Also, the fact that Stephen hasn't even mentioned it on his vlog even after visiting Emile this many times just enforces the idea of it not being true or that they want it secret. I know we are all curious about it and we would like to know but we also have to respect their privacy cause I'm sure they don't want to share EVERY DETAIL of their lives to the internet.
As far as I'm aware, Emile and Masae are just friends, and they just happen to live in the same general area, so Masae can visit whenever Stephen and Mal visit.
