I can just imagine Stephen sitting next to Emile on his deathbed. Emile raspily asks Stephen to come closer, "Let's meet back tomorrow, shall we?" _flat lines_
Honestly Steven, you are one of the best editors I know. Like, the flow of that arcade segment was amazing, and the subtle way you linked up the action with the music was really awesome...it felt like a professional montage segment. Could see it in a movie or a show...even a cheesey 80's film! And also, anyone who says the arcade has died clearly hasn't been to some of the arcades they have these days!
Once upon a time Emile would actually meet them in Myrtle Beach in July, but that hasn't happened in a few years now. Considering how busy he and Stephen are around this time, that doesn't seem very likely to happen anytime soon.
smoothSnake23 Oh you don’t know chugs at all. All his long breaks are him researching and preparing for the next game. Also, he edits the TheRunawayGuy videos and goes to multiple cons and events. He is an extremely busy person.
As someone who's played a fair amount of Betrayal I do have a couple of things to mention. For one, almost all of the haunts are set up so the heroes are in a very dire situation, or at the very least it seems like it always, because of the monsters and stats and abilities of the traitor side. The other two things are more negative stuff: the rules are not very well written, as in there are situations where the rules just don't have an explanation of what to do, which can cause confusion, though this only appears fairly rarely, because usually it's the haunt's specific situation that makes those happen. And finally, because you're not supposed to read about the haunts until they come up in the game, to keep it fair, it's actually concealed that most of the haunts are very very samey, except for the flavour text. Basically the victory condition of "Go to one of these rooms, do the same number of [stat] checks as the number of players, (then optionally do one final thing)" is extremely common. The game is still cool and pretty fun it's just not as amazing and varied as it seems at first.
Looks like you all had an awesome day and it makes me want to go to an arcade really badly. Betrayal on the House on the Hill is one of my favorite board games when it's that close and the scenarios are crazy.
Ooooh I loved the montage of the arcade footage. It makes me wanna go out and play some Dig Dug. I have had some amazing luck with Betrayal. That game is way too much fun, especially when you’re the bad guy.
Stephen, thank you so much for including the remix of Aquatic Ruin at the beginning. It goes into a jazz standard by Chick Corea about a minute in, and as a music person I actually ripped off my headphones and started freaking out when I heard it. I'm looking up Super Soul Bros. now and buying the album it's on. Thank you.
Stephen: *Finds an axe to kill the possessed Emile.* Also Stephen: "I stap Crimson Jack!" ... That... Would be a pretty impressive thing to do with an axe.
I would be curious if any of you guys ever get recognized in public. I would think that at places like arcades, I'm sure that there are people there who watch your videos. Also, Betrayal is one of our favorite games. Good choice!
That Super Soul Bros music had me SHOOK. It's perfect for people like me who love jazz and video games. Espcially at 1:35 it sounds like a quote from a song my jazz ensemble played but I can't remember the title. Maybe I'm making it up, idk.
I remember Stephen saying he really liked the Groove Coaster game. If you happen to see this comment, it's on iOS. It's not gonna be the same as arcade but it's as close as you're gonna get without buying the machine lol. I really liked the game too but my eyes couldn't keep up. You could also play on Mal's ipad. I have the 12.9 inch ipad and that's been great for rhythm games.
One of my favorite arcade machines is actually the very same Groove Coaster machine that was shown in this video. I put a lot of time into the free Groove Coaster 2 game on the App Store (highly recommend it), so seeing and getting to play the proper Groove Coaster arcade machine while visiting another city was an awesome time. Also, I agree with at least one other comment here: I NEED to play that Rhythm Heaven arcade machine!
RIP my ears from coming from the last video x.x Our best arcade shut down recently. Not popular enough here. Favorite game was Let's Go Jungle 2. Friend and I had a high score on the machine for a while. Would buy a cabinet if i had the money.
was there a luigis mansion game thing there because i got to play it at a dave and busters near me :D (they are mostly in japan and it was english translated)
Well I'm behind in arcade games. Did they have fighting games still around or SNK consoles? When I go to a Arcade I look for a a Neo-Geo/SNK machine to see if they have super side kicks on it.
The one near me doesn't have SNK games but they have Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, BlazBlue Central Fiction they generally just have a good mix of FGs
Oh Lord, favorite arcade machine? It honestly varies, but my current favorites have to be Dance Dance Revolution Ace (DDR A) - which I got to play for the first time at a Dave & Busters in Philadelphia, PA - and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone - which I coincidentally got to play for the first time at a Round1 arcade in Exton, PA. Both times I played those games for the first time happened the first time I went to both arcades, fittingly enough! ^^;
I'm so glad you play Betrayal properly*... and by that I mean you act it out and do voices and all that other good stuff! *You don't actually have to play it this way, I just think it's more fun to do so.
"I stab Crimson Jack, he's dead!" stabbed with an axe~ Just a funny visual in my head of a possessed Emile getting poked with an axe by Stephen instead of, well, chopped or slashed, heck even bludgeoned.
Whoa, that place looked so amazing, I wish I could go there... and that we saw more gameplay of both events. Wish I knew where that place was, looks so cool... Also, damn it Emile, I want a hug :P Wait, that wasn't what I was suppose to say? Oh well...
Betrayal is one of those games where the haunt gets so out of hand that at the end I'm either relieved I died and I don't have to deal with the game anymore, or I win and don't care because it was not worth the frustration lol.
A fun story regarding Betrayal at House on the Hill! I was a traitor for one game that I played with my dad and my D&D dungeonmaster and we got the Ouroboros event, which basically meant that I was turned into a two-headed lindworm with the win conditions being that I either killed everyone or became so big that I was basically able to encapsulate the entire house, crushing everybody inside it. I rolled SO BADLY that I got stuck on the upper floor and they managed to kill me. I mean I usually have bad luck with six-sided dies but that was just stupid.
I wonder how many other people are going to recognize Pop'n Music. I had a game where the Haunt was triggered on the FIRST omen, and I think the haunt meant the small house was bad for the traitor instead. They fixed that in Betrayal at Baldur's Gate, so you roll the amount of dice equal to the omens revealed, and if you roll more than a six, the haunt starts. He'll never end it right. Never. Never! NEVER!
When the USA has more arcades cabernets over there than in the UK...then again I don't live in place like London and such where they would have those! ;-;
it happened to my roommates and me, but we had more people and one of my roommates had nothing but low rolls (like total 1-3 nothing higher). It was fun though :D
I'm two for three: - Guessed a certain someone would be on the Tsum Tsum machine - Guessed the same someone would be the possessed one - I thought it was him making the kettle noise and was distressed but I was wrong
Can't explain why but I've always been pretty averse to arcades. The only time I really enjoyed it was in Japan because it was all different and new and seen through vacation-tinted glasses.
My head canon is that the 12-year-old boy was Ninten.
Next week's episode: How will Ninten explain this to the Police?!... Don't miss "Ninten won't do well in Prison!" Same time! Same channel!
More importantly, how did the police get Ninten out of Mineblock Land? Poor kid's been there for years now. XD
Let’s all hug
aw man you did it first
Best failed outro yet
BollyBibby outro
Oh brain fart lol
I can just imagine Stephen sitting next to Emile on his deathbed. Emile raspily asks Stephen to come closer,
"Let's meet back tomorrow, shall we?"
_flat lines_
That is the saddest thing I’ve heard all week and yet it’s also fucking hilarious
One day Emile will just sign off the vlog perfectly and like draw no attention to it.
XD Symphony Or just get like one syllable wrong or something
I hope not, then that would mean the world would end. LOL
You mean like when Maggie talked in the Simpsons? It happened and no one acknowledged it so it never happened again...
TheZebbga yep
Or he steals it from someone else while walking through the background at a con
Gotta love Emile
You can say that again Nivica
Unless you're Masae
Man I wish your meet-ups with Chuggaa and Masae were more than once a year, I love these videos.
Once upon a time Emile would actually meet them in Myrtle Beach in July, but that hasn't happened in a few years now. Considering how busy he and Stephen are around this time, that doesn't seem very likely to happen anytime soon.
I know, I've seen about 75% of his vlogs with Chuggaa and there was one at 4th of July.
They meet up again in May for the TRG Colosseum though it's probably not very personal due to what they are doing
Cartoon Critic Chuggs isn't that busy. He hasn't uploaded in about a month. He's on his usual long break after an LP
smoothSnake23 Oh you don’t know chugs at all. All his long breaks are him researching and preparing for the next game. Also, he edits the TheRunawayGuy videos and goes to multiple cons and events. He is an extremely busy person.
My god, the music is fantastic. Fun fact, the theme seems to be mixed with Spain by Chick Corea. They go amazingly well together.
I couldn't agree more, the minute I heard the Spain theme I lost it lol
So I WASN'T crazy! Man, what a great mashup that song is...
Yo i caught it too haha, it does go really well together!
It’s so good. The super soul bros rock.
I was thinking the same thing, because for drum major auditions, we had to conduct Spain, and it does go well together with the song.
1:03 THERE'S RHYTHM HEAVEN MACHINES?!?!!?
i'm gonna be that guy and tell you that's actually rhythm tengoku
Tengoku translates to "heaven", so doesn't really make much of a difference.
yep, by sega. it's just an updated version of the original gba game.
I'm gonna be that guy to tell you that rhythm heaven is called "Rhythm paradise" in europe.
Nashor I knew all of those. I love the series so much and hope we get a new one soon ❤️
As someone who's played a fair amount of Betrayal I do have a couple of things to mention. 1:34 SPAIN!!!! MAN THAT IS SO FREAKING COOL. I must now buy all of the Super Soul Bro's music.
Tobias Hawthorne Yes! That was our audition song to conduct for drum major tryouts in my marching band this year.
Looks like you all had an awesome day and it makes me want to go to an arcade really badly. Betrayal on the House on the Hill is one of my favorite board games when it's that close and the scenarios are crazy.
God that arcade Montage was so cathartic and well made. it's so great seeing four friends just having fun without any kind of drama
Thsi may sound weird but I like Let's All Hug more than Let' Meet Back Tomorrow Shall We.
3:48 poor squib
The Mini Yosshi That's an Inkling, not a magic-less wizard.
Bob the Builder Damn it I was gonna say that
1:27 Stephen's jumper looking W E T
SuperAlcapwnage nothing but green
2:16 Pop'n music is the single best rhythm game ever made holyyyyy
Best Ending to a StephenVlog
FINALLY, I LOVE BETRAYAL. IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU GUYS TO PLAY IT
Guys that isn't really Emile. Emile would never lose at a game of chance against Stephen. Stephen is just trying to fool us
the die that fell was secretly a 6...
1:02 I never knew Rhythm Heaven got an arcade release.
Someone oughta actually make a video about that
Me: *Watches StephenVlogs normally like I always do, then hears Spain by Chick Corea*
Me: Yep, that's why Stephen is my favorite.
I've been wanting to see you guys play Betrayal at house on the Hill, in my opinion one of the best board games ever
Well theres all of Emile's channel icons for every single lets play he did
Ooooh I loved the montage of the arcade footage. It makes me wanna go out and play some Dig Dug.
I have had some amazing luck with Betrayal. That game is way too much fun, especially when you’re the bad guy.

Did you know that arcade mario kart has a picture of hostage crisis in the game data
And some weird Japanese mascot thing
Stephen: *Finds an axe to kill the possessed Emile.*
Also Stephen: "I stap Crimson Jack!"
...
That... Would be a pretty impressive thing to do with an axe.
You're at Sugar Hill Mall in Buford it looks like
I enjoy skee ball or air hockey. I haven't been to an arcade in a bit. I'd like to go though.
I've been to one in Pennsylvania. So much fun!
Aw, Pippy. :) I want to snuggle the bunny.
Emiles face expressions are priceless
One day Emile will say the outro right, but in another language so Stephen will never know.
Chugga looks so focused playing Mario Kart
I would be curious if any of you guys ever get recognized in public. I would think that at places like arcades, I'm sure that there are people there who watch your videos.
Also, Betrayal is one of our favorite games. Good choice!
6:44 is probably the funniest moment in a while.
Woah I was JUST at a Round 1 too 😂😂😂
Nice to see you guys played Groove Coaster! Really wish other places had that game in them too!
Chugga is such a good friend
That Super Soul Bros music had me SHOOK. It's perfect for people like me who love jazz and video games. Espcially at 1:35 it sounds like a quote from a song my jazz ensemble played but I can't remember the title. Maybe I'm making it up, idk.

Joe Maennle Ah ok thank you so much!!

I'll miss seeing Emile on the vlogs :(
I played House on the Hill with my friends. It was really fun. I can't wait to play it with them again

I like how I automatically knew it was a Round1 just from the machines and walls lol. Love that place!
2:50, 2:57
Those are some weird looking pachinko machines.
oh my god that arcade looks spectacular
favorite arcade game of recent razing storm, of all time is between pacman, ms pacman, galaga
I recognized a music reference to “Spain” by Chick Corea and I’m happy somehow
RIP my ears from coming from the last video x.x
Our best arcade shut down recently. Not popular enough here. Favorite game was Let's Go Jungle 2. Friend and I had a high score on the machine for a while. Would buy a cabinet if i had the money.

Well I'm behind in arcade games. Did they have fighting games still around or SNK consoles? When I go to a Arcade I look for a a Neo-Geo/SNK machine to see if they have super side kicks on it.
Round 1s have a good selection of various fighting games! They get their own section and rotate out titles every so often.
The one near me doesn't have SNK games but they have Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, BlazBlue Central Fiction
they generally just have a good mix of FGs
At least Emile didn’t say something about vernacular
I must go to that arcade😍
If it’s called The Rec Room, I’ve been there before! It had all the games you’ve played besides 2 or 3.
Heck yeah! Pop'n Music, Gitadora, Groove Coaster, and rhythm heaven! (i love round1)
The montage edits are getting really good.
Masae is so adorable like what the hell
Oh Lord, favorite arcade machine?
It honestly varies, but my current favorites have to be Dance Dance Revolution Ace (DDR A) - which I got to play for the first time at a Dave & Busters in Philadelphia, PA - and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade Future Tone - which I coincidentally got to play for the first time at a Round1 arcade in Exton, PA.
Both times I played those games for the first time happened the first time I went to both arcades, fittingly enough! ^^;
now I want to see a video of you playing that game
I looooove Groove Coaster!
Really want to see them play Betrayal with Tim and Jon as well
a game of this on stephen plays might be interesting either the regular version or the expansion widow's walk
I'm so glad you play Betrayal properly*... and by that I mean you act it out and do voices and all that other good stuff!
*You don't actually have to play it this way, I just think it's more fun to do so.
Is it that time already D:
My gaming history begins at N64. I suck at arcade games. The one I enjoy the most is Qbert.
Please tell me you played sound voltex or IIDX
Best Chugga sign off so far!!!!
Yo the song had a whole callback to Spain by chick corea in there. I wholeheartedly approve.
Well, Chugga did end it rather cutely. You should give him points for not bring crazy that time!
Also, damn it Emile, I want a hug :P
Wait, that wasn't what I was suppose to say? Oh well...
1:57 SUPER TABLE FLIP IS MY FAVORITE GAME!!
Oh no, Emiles running out of 'ruin the ending' jokes.
The title of the vlog is a million times better If you read it in Stephen's smoker Zelda voice.
Betrayal is one of those games where the haunt gets so out of hand that at the end I'm either relieved I died and I don't have to deal with the game anymore, or I win and don't care because it was not worth the frustration lol.
Yo I played that song at 1:40 in middle school jazz band!
Did they say the name of the arcade and i didn’t catch it? What’s the place called?
My favorite arcade game is Virtual-On
I wonder how many other people are going to recognize Pop'n Music.
Never. Never! NEVER!
3:17 Let's play GROOOOOOOOOVE COAAASTER!
I'm so happy there's a steam port for it coming out in 4 days c:
When the USA has more arcades cabernets over there than in the UK...then again I don't live in place like London and such where they would have those! ;-;
it happened to my roommates and me, but we had more people and one of my roommates had nothing but low rolls (like total 1-3 nothing higher). It was fun though :D
Had a feeling it was emile you were seeing :)
thank you so much for introducing me to SSB lol
2:04 is that...Mario and Sonic at the Olympics in the background...
...
Can you play as Eggman?
How does one "stab" another with an axe...?
you just kinda move it forward without turning it or moving it otherwise and say "enh"
Some axes have spikes
ShycoWar Extremely fast, hard, and repetitive.
If you associate stabbing with the act of trusting, you could stab with an axe by holding it upright and trusting.
Just your typical horror story
since when were there rhythm tengoku arcade machines
Love the part at 2:04!
1:01 I'm sorry but is that a Rhythm Heaven arcade machine?!
my first game of betrayal the haunt started when I rolled a 0 on the first omen
Yo where's that Aquatic Ruin remix from?
I LOVE BETRAYAL, IT'S SO MUCH FUN
Cute ending
I'm two for three:
- Guessed a certain someone would be on the Tsum Tsum machine
- Guessed the same someone would be the possessed one
- I thought it was him making the kettle noise and was distressed but I was wrong
For a sec I hoped you guys actually came to my home state
Can't explain why but I've always been pretty averse to arcades. The only time I really enjoyed it was in Japan because it was all different and new and seen through vacation-tinted glasses.
Can you do the outro right for the first time in, ever?
*tea kettle intensifies*
lets all hug! :D
