- It brings me great pleasure to share even MORE of Chuck's house. Look, I could have hung out there all day long. You'll notice I am wearing my orange shirt in every one of these videos. Yes- these were all shot in one, awesome- long assday. Chucks house is totally my style- Dirted tanks. Lots of stuff going on and things he is testing. You'll see my Green house tanks this weekend. Yes. this place has something for everyone.

What is killer is that you don't even see the guppies in this video. He has an entire back room full of them. (and was kind enough to let me take some home. I also scored some of that Taiwan plant- which had been out of my possession for awhile. Glad to have that back. He and Gary are both scientists by background. I heard them talking at times and was like- oh wtf? Listening to all of these guys was a huge treat for me. Everyone of them has their own niche or has done something in the past that was cool to hear about. Chuck for example lived in Austria (I think) for a number of years and was well aware of the European style of keeping fish. We also spoke at length about inline water heaters for my GH as well as different ways to do auto top off systems. Did I mention I had a good time in St. Louis? Big shout outs to Gary Lange for his hospitality and then basically devoting a day to driving me around to places like this. "Gary don't Carry" ...that's an amazing slogan- but the truth is Gary was carrying me all over. Tank the F on people!

Very oldschool in his filtration, you only see that done by people who got started way back usually, and it's pretty much the cheapest and one of the best ways to maintain great water, but most people don't want to do partial water changes that often.

from what I understand, the retrospiralis found in the hobby isn't true retrospiralis but is actually Cryptocoryne crispatula var. flaccidifolia and is very closely related to balansae
also, on that one tank wouldn't you be gassing off a lot of that co2 by running those air filters and letting the co2 come out in such large bubbles?

how does he manage with all the water changes? I have 7 tanks and I cant keep them all running because my water bill will go extremely high. can someone explain this to me? thank you I appreciate your response and help

Ron Johnson yah could be true. I live in California and our water is much more expensive then other states. one of my friends lives in New York that I met recentley and has over 50 tanks and his water is cheaper so I guess it's where you live sometimes. We have water meters here in california where it reads or monthly use of water some states don't have water meters
Correct, generally speaking, water is much more plentiful back east than out west. Therefore it is easier and often cheaper to build water infrastructure. I am fortunate in that we have inexpensive, quality tap water.
We also collect rain water, which may be an option for you. Simply divert rain water that is collected off of a roof top thru it’s gutter system. You may want to mix with your tap water to help get the right Ph as rain water can be slightly acidic.
My water is 5 bucks per 1,000 gallons so you take a heck of a lot of tanks to run up my water bill.
