As a kid in the sixties! I couldn't wait till school ended, ran home as fast as I could (only 2 miles!) To sit in front of a small black and white rented tele and watch my favourite programme not forgetting joe ninety, Captain scarlet, stingray. Puts a smile on my face today watching the Thunderbirds today at 61 years old and in colour 😊
as a kid of the 90s i can assure you the tradition didnt change i did the exact same thing im so glad they rebroadcast shows like this, captain scarlet and stingray.. shit i cant even say 'stingray' to this day without going 'stingray... STINGRAY dun dun dun dun dunnn dunnnn'

From a 61 year old Thunderbirds fan that’s never seen or heard of this before I send my absolutely sincere thanks and appreciations for this complete surprise! Beautiful!!
I'm also a 65 yr old Thunderbirds fan and never heard of this episode. Thank you for sharing it. I'm going on to the auction sites now to see if I can buy a model of it.
To be honest I didn’t notice the lack of strings. Good point and good spotting Vince, though I was only a couple of minutes in. After reading your comment I went an looked really carefully, and golly they did a really good professional job in covering the strings. It said that this film was remastered by a fan. Absolutely painstaking work and a labour of love that could have taken weeks to do. 99% of the negative scratches and neg pitting and emulsion scratches have been removed frame by frame. It looks like the colour has been regraded via telecine transfer to digital master. The editor probably treated the audio as well. I’m really impressed! @@vincentl.9469
Look on the bright side Michael, the world has gone mad and we, having lived through the saner times, won't miss where things are headed. If Parker had said he preferred mini skirts in this day and age he would probably be charged with sexism and ended up on the sex offenders register. I am surprised Lady Penelope hasn't tried to get him convicted yet. Thunderbird two, despite being green in colour, would be cancelled due to excessive carbon emissions. The only thing ridiculous about the sixties were the spectacles, high fashion or those worn by Brains.
I’m about to turn 62 and I never get tired of seeing all of the old gadgets. As a kid my favourite was Thunderbird 5. Great to hear from so many on here of the same age range! All the best from John in Western Canada 🇨🇦
The glorious sound of mighty turbines! Rockets! Great scenery, great effects. What a great series this always was and still is. This ancient schoolboy still loves it.
Thunderbirds was my favorite tv show when I was a kid. Seen a lot back thru the years, Found this film here, grabbed a glass of wine and watched it. Thanks for posting!
Saturday morning wasn't " Saturdays morning" without this series blasting though our home!!! Hanna Barbara, filmation, couldn't touch this series with ah 10 ft. Brush pen!!!
I watched the Thunderbirds every Saturday morning at 5.00 am ,after coming home from a night out seeing Rock Bands in the 70s ,Great episode with no strings ,Im 59 years old ,and a massive thank you for bringing back the awesome times our generation had ,compared to todays chaotic world .
Have both Thunderbirds movies on DVD,love watching them, they never fail to entertain thanks for the work you did on this much appreciated Auckland New Zealand 2023
Just watched this chrislong3938 and totally agree, the voice even sounded like James Mason, I grew up with Thunderbirds as a lad and still enjoy it today, will we ever grow up? 😂
I am 62 yrs old as well. I don't remember watching the thunderbirds but Since I became an adult I have just about watched every episode and a few episodes of UFO. How did I miss these shows growing up. These are amazingly good. I am on a mission to watch every episode of the Thunderbirs and UFO. I think they were created by the same people.
Used to watch thunderbirds in french as part of learning french for a job on the channel tunnel Got to love the royal marines band version of the theme tune at the end of the feature film
This was just on free to air tv the other week, 52 years old watched it, recorded it, watched again. Bring them back, so much better than today's marketing campaigns errrr sorry "cartoons"
Saw both the Thunderbirds films at Uxbridge regal in the sixties, happy memories and I got all 5 Thunderbirds toys plus lady Penelope's car at Christmas 66, happy memories
Oh boy we are spoilt, yet another quality version. The whole thing seems so much more vibrant and a real pleasure to watch. Thanks for the post, great job…! These shows really have stood the test of time. Mr Anderson would have been proud of this quality. 👍👏🛩💯
This was such a fun film. I saw it at the cinema as a 9 year old. The model work and characterisations were really good with a far more interesting story than Thunderbirds are Go. I'll never forget the mad laughing
There is a documentary on YT about the guy who did the Thunderbird special effects. It is wonderful to see how they made many props out of common household objects. Especially the making of the explosions is very impressive. Search and you will find.
Thank you for posting. It really brings back the memories of kid. Thunderbirds was my favorite program at that time. And also seen many back through the years! I have some DVD, however, this is the first time to see this episode. Fantastic!
That's absolutely awesome! I have every episode of Thunderbirds, and the original movie, but I never knew this film existed. Apart from one or two head changes (mainly Scott) and a new TB2, everything looks as it did from the TV shows. Well done in resurrecting this missing gem.
G-ANFM also appeared in "The King's Speech", when the Prince of Wales flies into Sandringham... One of my greatest pleasures was driving Sylvia Anderson in her final years; the happy times reminiscing about Thunderbirds, Stingray, Fireball XL5 etc. Lovely customer, sadly missed.
What many people perhaps don’t know is the sons were named after five of the seven Mercury astronauts. Namely Alan Shepard, Gus (Ivan ) Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter and Gordon Cooper. Should have had two more sons to complete the set. Always loved the show. Did anyone have a thing for Lady Penelope?🇦🇺
Watched the original very recently on Australian television. I found it to be a tedious drawn out affair and thought the biplane sequence at the end would never stop. This is much better
Fireball XL-5, and Stingray I heard of in the sixties and seventies, along with Supercar. Wasn't until the eighties that I heard of the Thunderbirds (though my wife had).
That was very well done! And thank you for editing out some of the not so good bits, the creepy boardroom laughter, and the scene or two that featured some very un-Thunderbirds cruelty towards Parker. Congratulations all round!
Watching this again - I love it - I must congratulate you on how beautifully edited the teaser intro is. It shows action, but not in context, so if you haven't seen it, it isn't spoiled for you. Great work! 👍👍👍
Great to see Brain’s getting in on the actual action and not just as tech support but I’m sure I remember he came up with about three different designs for Thunderbird 6 and getting pissed off with Jeff for not giving him guidance on what he actually wanted.
Thunderbird 6 works well as a feature-length movie so doesn't really need cutting - unlike Thunderbirds Are Go which really benefits from losing 30mins.
68 TODAY! What a delight - baddies SHOOT the goodies & dump them in the sea right at the beginning. Everyone smokes & eats. And AMAZINGLY, so many of those exotic places they visit & would not have known of then, I’ve actually now visited! And avocados delivered by train in Switzerland- a la Yo Sushi! Amaze-balls.👍👍👍 🫶🫶 Thank you - great Birthday Present.
Goes to show how old this movie could be. As they fly over Sydney the picture shows the Sydney Opera House construction has barely started. The picture is from 1959-1962.
I didn't catch the mistake when I was seven years old. A missile base five miles East of Dover would be rather a wet one!! Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed falling in love with Lady Penelope again. Thanks so much.
Top line of the movie-- Vergil I've arrived I'm parked up on the grass verge 😁💪🇬🇧💯👍 There not Muppets there our Puppets 🇬🇧💯🇺🇲🎬 Great memories 💞🧐🇬🇧 Parka an lady P 🥰🤩 Still making old men Happy 😁 thanks, what a laugh 😂🤣🆘🇬🇧💯

One word describes it "Excellent!" That music still brings a lump to my 61 year old throat.
At 62 years old I'm still a Thunderbirds fan, thanks for posting this video !!
I'm back in 1966.5 years old an watching Thunderbirds.61 now and feeling old.

That countdown and theme is one of the most gloriously perfect starts to any programme in the history of television across the world.

I love The Thunderbirds too.
The quality of special effects in this is some of their best work. The impression of big scenery in some of these shots is amazing.

You've just got to love the Thundebirds... the byplane, flying about, taking off as real footage. Jerry was way ahead of his time!
I used to love Thunderbirds, as a kid, and still do.

That long uncut missle base sequence was terrific.
I had to find that part and you are right, goddam it goes on forever and i love it
So good, that they even recycled it for that Joe 90 episode *Holiday Business* or *Business Holiday*

Very good, I’ve always thought that Sun Probe and the perils of Penelope could be turned in to one long episode.

The only Thunderbirds story that features cold blooded murder.
I was literally shocked by that scene, and I was an adult at the time.
Same thought. But I think it passes as a preemptive strike
Never seen this, incredible explosions, way better than cgi nowadays. Only trouble was I kept expecting some "Team America" action 😁
It was interesting to see the SkyShip over Sydney Harbour, with no Opera House yet. It looks like construction was only just underway.
This is a joy to watch for an old fan like myself and I have to say, the sound quality is amazing, crystal clear. Great work love it 🎉❤

My brother in law painstakingly made his version of Tracy Island ( Blue Peter ) for my son. We all copied Parker at school. Good old days.
For us kids this was a must see program as was stingray
Very cool. Thanks for sharing this.
