I too have similar physical issues and age is not on my side at 75, last year I had family pressures, spinal issues to finish my biking life ! I fought back and against all odds now ride a new BMW R1250GS ! ok I can't ride all day anymore but my shorter jaunts still give me excitement and pleasure, which at my age is in limited supply Lol. My mental health improved immensely from riding out the showroom and still does every time I ride.
There's no doubt that while the balance of positivity to negativity is in favour of riding then I'll keep on going. Sounds like you are way ahead of me, big respect! 👍👍
Glad to see you are ok and with very positive spirit! I am following your channel since your Ludwig, Covid time and looking forward on every video you post. Keep going and have nice time!
Thank you very much. It's been a setback, but the physio is working. So long as I can still ride, I am happy. Really appreciate those kind words. Ride safe! 👍👍
Hoping your health gets back to normal and you’re able to keep riding. Really enjoy your videos, I’m 74 myself and still riding, was diagnosed with Crohn’s some years back but still riding, still enjoying it.
Fair play to you mate and I can relate from a physical point of view as I had bad arthritis in my right hip and in November last year I had a replacement hip as prior to that it was making my leg so stiff that I dreaded it every time I came to a stop and similar to yourself I thought my riding days were over. 4 months later feb 2024 and with the hip replacement all that leg stiffness has now gone and like yourself through sheer bloody determination I will ride again in 2024. Incidentally I'm 60 this year and been riding since 18 years old in 1982. I really can relate with you mate and like you I intend to carry on a few years more yet. Great vids by the way 👏
Cheers mate, appreciated. Same age too. I watch Highland Cycles, a US dirt bike garage. He’s had hip replacement and is full on dirt bike racing now, so there’s always hope. You can do it too👍👍
With similar physical issues, mental already too far gone, found a pill on line which went-for full of doubts! I know we are all different but at 74, to now walk and work with minimal joint/muscle pain has been a revelation!
From quite an active person who regularly hiked in the hills with no issues to about 2 years ago developing what I believed to be hip issues which meant i couldn't walk very far at all. Bit similar to yourself where went for x rays etc etc ended up on physio and now do Pilates twice a week. Has helped massively. Im 68 and i feel that at a certain age we just have to work harder at staying mobile. Hope you get sorted. Still enjoying your ride outs on roads I know very very well.
I think you are right. This thing came out of nowhere, never had issue before, qualified level 2 coach, active etc. Fracture seems most likely as rest helped most. Now doing physio to regain lost mobility. Much better now. But I will have to reassess future, as you suggest. Glad you got through it. 👍👍
Fair play, didn't realize things were that bad. Hope you find some resolution to your problems and stuff anything that says you have to have a reason for having something other than the pleasure of owning it. Ride on brother 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sorry to hear of your health issues mate, hope things improve, puts things in perspective for sure, health service is a joke, animals are treated better.
Chin up buddy. Keep riding and keep them videos coming. Enjoy the new bike. I did look at the nt1100 to replace my vfr800x crossrunner. But I'm just not sold on the looks of it. Good bike I'd say .
It's early days for me. I was always confident on 500x. This will need a little more care. Not quite as formidable as my old Africa Twin DCT, but a lot more bike than the CB. Which has pluses and minuses... we'll see 👍
My wife once asked me , when will you give up biking ,( started at 8 years old , 57 now) and I told her when I drop dead. Then I wrote down the procedure for selling my bike (2020 ATAS ) documents and all . Good vlog keep them coming. ✌️
You won’t regret it hides it weight in my opinion better then my 2018 Africa Twin I suffered serious spinal problems since my mid thirties but 8 years ago spinal surgery sorted some of it out but I still struggle with arthritis age 69 the NT1100 will serve you well 😊
I too had 2018 AT DCT. Quite top heavy but I loved it on road. As you say this feels a little more centred, though not tried a full tank of fuel yet 🤞👍 I hope your physical issues continue to be managed - I'm learning 😉
The NT whatever it is doesn’t interest me, but fair play you are still on two wheels. Family is a pain in the arse. I have some somewhere , they annoy me occasionally, but it’s eased by not answering my phone or texts. ✌🏻
Nice video good choice of bike, I ride a GTR 1400 which I love but its a heavy beast. I tour a lot with my wife so its a great tool for the job. I am lucky that being 66 I can still move it around but I am aware that some day will need something lighter so been looking at the NT1100. I have uploaded video's about being a mature biker and the changes we may have to make to enable us to carry on doing what we love. Liked and subbed
Cheers, I will check them out and reciprocate. So far in life I have been lucky. This is the first issue I have faced. Not really used the NHS since I had my tonsils removed in 1970. It certainly has changed a lot. But being able to ride is therapy enough for me. I’m sure you both feel the same. 👍
@@CodgerBiker Yes bikes are the best therapy and should be on prescription. Luckily I have not seen a Dr for 46 years and don't intend to if I have my way.
Go and see an experienced osteopath. Check the way you're sleeping, if you're a side- sleeper like me you need a strong orthopedic pillow underneath your head (the width of your shoulder) otherwise the neck vertebrae will start pinching the nerves that run down your arms and reduce your apparent strength.

Glad you are still riding. I guess it takes a while to adjust, but where there’s a will… 👍👍

On the way up, gradually. Cheers! You don't find out how things have deteriorated till you need it. Usually I stay well away. 👍👍
Hope you get your health issues sorted out. Looking forward to more videos as the weather improves.
Cheers. We live in hope, it's all anyone can do. 👍👍

I don’t mind the looks when I’m sat on it. Not sure about the front, I agree. Cheers ✌️👍👍
been thinking bout a vfr800x, love the V4 engine, not sure bout the vtec though.
Bought the CB500X 6 months ago, been thinking about upgrading to this also LOL.

Fighting back! 👍👍
Good job, God bless. Honda is the best.
Cheers! 👍

@@CodgerBiker I found DCT too obtrusive personally prefer manual
Me too. Also saves 10kg. 👍

Could not agree more. Will catch up on your vids later also. Have subbed 👍👍
I would love to own a NT1100 and would in a heart beat if Honda would bring them to the US. However, the last I heard, there are no plans to do so.
Honda are strange in their marketing aren't they. I'd like a Honda 125 Trail, but it's not available here... 🤷♂️
great just miss the older v4 honda this sounds like a maxi scooter
Same sound as Africa Twin. Nothing an endcan couldn’t improve, but it is a twin.
My mother in law once said, "getting older isn't for sissies". Truer words never spoken.
She got that right! 🤣👍

Definitely looks to be vertebrae. Possibly cracked. Rest has helped, now using physio to regain mobility. 👍
You do know it has more than 3 gears?😂
True 👍😉
Be irie, ✌
Will try 🤞.
