- Showrunner Ryan Condal, writer David Hancock, actor Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), and more explain the important role House Tully and House Frey play in helping the Black Council gain support in the Riverlands. Watch House of the Dragon S2 Sundays at 9PM on #StreamonMax.
Guys, Walder Frey isn’t going to be born for another 79 years. Different time period, different Freys. Sabitha is actually pretty cool.
If we know Tyland Lannister’s full history, different Lannisters.
You’re a few centuries off
@@jeremiahooms4716No, he right bud, Walder, by the time we got to see him was about 100 years old - and a dirty old man who bought his House's name down into the gutter because of his weasly antics, his heritage is quite different mind.
@@jeremiahooms4716 No my math is right. Dance of Dragon happened in 129 AC and Walder Frey was born in 208 AC
@@BlackwoodSupremacy lol you’re right idk what I was thinking when I posted that
"The Freys have always been tough negotiators". Yup. Pretty on brand for the Lords who control THE most important passage between Riverlands and the North.
their wealth and army are nothing in the presence of dragons
It's refreshing to see familiar Game of Thrones locations returning in the second season of House of the Dragon. The Twins being one of them, though it does bring back memories of the Red Wedding. Also the Eyre was stunning in this episode and I hope they show us Riverrun in this season as well.
I hope they would also show us the Casterly Rock
The Twins look so great on screen i felt like it was peel off the books and onto the screen
missing that central tower in the middle of the bridge tho
Jace has been the only one for Blacks to get anything done. He got the Freys and Starks on their side and came up with the idea of trying other Valeryans as dragon riders. Impressed with the young prince. And he listens to his mother although won’t always obey her lol!
I really wish we could’ve seen Jace arriving or leaving on Vermax. We haven’t really seen him riding on dragonback. There’s the quick scene in s1ep10 but we couldn’t see it clearly.
@@anthonyufert8477 And would the son of this lord and lady of House Frey end up being Walder Frey? Are they Walder Frey’s parents?
@@costco_pizza walder frey will not be born for another 80 years.
I believe that would cost quite a bit even a little showing. They're probably trying to save everything for when they really need to go all out.
Forrest Frey was rejected by Rhaenyra and still fought for her.
I don't know whether to call him a man of honor or a fool.
The only bitter a**h*le that was rejected by Rhaenyra was Crispy Kreme
Call him a simp.
Call him an honourable man who isn’t an incel, unlike Cole
And would Walder Frey be born at this time ready to take over House Frey next?
@@c0ronariu5Cole is an a-hole but not an incel
RIP Sabitha Frey, you'll always be a legend
Who is she?
@@TheJabadyOld female head of the Freys that declared for the Blacks after her husband died during the first battles for the Riverlands though she married into the Freys instead of being born as one. She fought in the war pretty much as a full blown combatant from its start to its end, retaking Harrenhal after Criston Cole began to retreat, she took in and fought with Rodrick Dustin and the Winter Wolves, rallied both House Frey and her blood kin, House Vyper and joined one of the Black dragon seeds, Addam of Hull, for the showdown at Second Tumbleton and joined the Lads (The young sons of old Tully (20?) and the 13 year old Benjicot Blackwood) on their march to Kings Landing at the end.
After the war she ended up being a Riverlands version of the cupid and paired widows with Northerns who stayed south to repopulate the Riverlands. She also boned a Blackwood lady.
She pretty alright for a married-in Frey.
Oh and she also managed to evade Vhaegar during Aemond's attack on Harrenhal by hiding in the toilet and slipping away. Pretty fun mention Blood and Fire.

I hate how dirty they did the freys forest frey and his wife were such a chad duo during the dance my man got rejected by rhaenyra got dubbed fool frey and still uphold his oath and fought and died for his queen
It's kinda hard to take the Tully's seriously once you realize they were all named for Muppets and Sesame Street Characters (Oscar the grouch, Kermit the Frog, Grover and while I'm not sure it's mentioned in the show yes there is a Lord Elmo Tully)
House Frey, before their "Walder Era".
"The last one we saw" Ryan, I don’t need those kinds of flashbacks!!
Sabitha Frey, you will be missed ❤
Who is she?
You mean her book ver? Cuz that is Sabitha Frey that Jace meets in this episode.
@@SonderDAzeX She seems older and they weren't named.
@@ythandlename They are older, but on IMDB they are listed Forest Frey and Sabitha Frey.
I don't understand? Why would we miss her when she is right here alive in this scene?
The filming location for the Twins, was at Lake Vyrnwy dam in North Wales. 🏴
No Kermit Tully, no Sabitha Frey, it’s sad that the show is taking out some of the coolest characters. HoTD is chicken shit in being scared of using Muppet Tully names proudly. I better be seeing some badass Tully and Frey action soon given they were some of the most loyal bannermen for Rhaenyra in the books.
There names were ridiculous to begin with. That was the right choice😂
Why did they cut out Elmo and Kermit Tully?
The names probably.
Because they have muppet show to do 😂😂
Because their names are Elmo and Kermit!
Is that Jace’s dragon, Vermax watching the negotiations with the Freys?
Yes. The Freys were afraid of Vaghar that's why Jace promised them protection.
Hello HBO, first of all a big thank you for continuing. At the same time, I watch Games of Thrones again from the beginning. ;-) It was a trip. Also thank you for that. I always ask myself one thing when watching the series, whether it would be possible for you to display the places graphically at the bottom right, so that you can understand everything even better. Thank you.
“But…you didn’t slaughter every one of the Starks. No, no, that was your mistake. You should have ripped them all out root and stem.
Leave one wolf alive and the sheeps are never safe.”
- Totally not someone impersonating Walder Frey
that was arya
jace's drip is immaculate tho😅
Never trust a Frey, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up betraying Rhaenrya for Aegon and slaughter her Allies
Jace made sure he drank while he treated with them
Did you forget why Frey betrayed Robb Stark? Hah! Robb Stark had the audacity to come inside Frey's castle keep and bring his new beloved while all of Frey's daughters sat there, rejected...
Meanwhile House Lannister offered them payment... I feel that was the key especially reviewing season 1 thus Frey did not technically betray, he was betrayed by the Starks.
With Jace it might be different given that he is a dashing dragon rider and appears to look like a great warrior even if he is untested and rather young... so at least they did not try to force him into some marriage pact.
Robb was an oath breaker, as long as Rhaenyra keeps her oath, the frey won’t betray her.
@@apollosungod2819 Chill out, Walder Frey.
But yeah, the show made Robb dumber and more like a shortsighted horndog than in the books.
However, part of ASOIAF is also recognising that people are individuals so the Freys who exist during one era are not the same Freys who exist in a different era.
J'ai pas encore regarder l'épisode mais bon.. 😂😂
J'ai hâte 🎉
We want Sabitha Frey.
I’m Team Green, but same.
That is Sabitha Frey and Lord Forest Frey that Jace meets.
@@SonderDAzeX In name only
@@uthorofthehightower3367 ok, still a Sabitha Frey.
Oh this is the beginning isnt it. Book purists are getting annoying (and i read all of them).
The greenscreen in the Jace riverland scene was bad. It looked worse than 2014 game of thrones.
Where the damn is Kermit and Elmo? Where the hell is Sabitha Frey?
Protect Lord Oscar Tully!
Lol its his enemy who need protection.. The Lads Oscar and Kermit Tully + Bloody Benjicot Blackwood were one the baddest guys .. youngest yet fiercest
Is Ryan giving us a hint ? 😂
No, the Freys of this time weren't even dishonourable and fought bravely for Rhaenyra but of course to him all houses are reduced to steriotypes rather than being composed of individuals.
HOW Aemond tried to kill Aegon on eyes of 1000x soldiers and only Cole and Aemond know truth ? they should talk about it it was kin slaying and king saying the worse things you can do in Westeros and no one speak s about it when Jamie was touted for 7 season
It was in the middle of a crazy dragon fight. There's plenty of room for plausible deniability. Plus Aegon is very much alive hence no Kinslaying occured.
Jace serving face as always
HOUSE BRACKEN FOREVER!!!!
But House Frey is underrated
I don't get why they portray these Freys as dishonourable. They are much diferent than the ones in Walder Frey's time, they fought bravely for Rhaenyra in this war. I can't understand why they must be reduced to a steriotype based on Walder Frey who was born decades later. Also where the hell is Sabitha Frey?
They did the same to Brackens because they wanted fight for Aegon last episode they called them cravens
How are they dishonorable?
How are they dishonorable though? They had a very reasonable request. Good negotiators.
@@queenxx1690 Nah, this episode actually portrayed the Brackens as pretty based. They looked into a dragon's eyes and said: 'Burn us, we don't care'. Uncommon Bracken W.
Isn't the woman in the scene Sabitha Frey?
Why didn't they build second bridge all this time? 😂
When were the Twins made?
Before Aegon the Conqueror conquered Westeros.
Around 300 years before Aegons Conquest.
About 600 years give or take iirc. A Frey built a bridge with a single tower, started collecting toll fees = 💰💰💰
The Freys are what modern people would describe as 'nouveau riche'. Rivermen with older houses and esteemed blood would describe them as 'upstarts'
@@theblackpearlofbraavos That just goes to show how snobby Westeros is though. Lol. A family that rose to prominence around 600 years ago is still seen as new money.
@@CatotheE LOL right? But I guess when you have a hyper-stratified class system with families boasting linages over 8000 years old, 600 years of toll collecting would seem like new money.
Love these videos
And here we are 2 king slayers😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
G O T !!!!!
Give me House Forrester
question, why jace need to to convince the freys? when Daemon already negotiating all riverlands lords?
Well, Daemon at the moment cut all comunications and it's pretty much fighting a parallel war for his own goals, while pretending to serve Rhaenyra.
The Freys are currently the only true team black house in the Riverlands
House Frey?
The North Remembers.
Isn't Sabitha Frey supposed to be a bit younger?
Where Sabitha Frey?
Those better not be Forrest Frey and Sabitha
It's them, they've been made older in the show.
It's absolutely not true House Tully is less powerful than its other subjects. What the fuck did they say??? Tullys are easily on the same league of Arryn of the Vale or Tyrells (second only to Stark/Lannisters/Baratheons).
House Tully since the Targaryen conquest has always played a crucial role in balancing the Seven Kingdoms. One of the strongest castles, crucial location, huge army, richer than the Vale and the North, with a lot of powerful banners, great politicians, great soldiers. Lord Hoster Tully, proven to be as smart as Tywin, has been able even to extend his influence until the Vale and the north through powerful marriage alliances with the heir of Houses Stark and Arryn.
The problem is about the riverlands which is the most difficult kingdom in Westeros to rule over.
And only the fact Tullys managed to keep being the lords paramount of the riverlands says a lot.
But am I the only one who remembers the big ass dragon they showed at the end of season 1 as a teaser cause why is no one talking about it😭😭
Vermithor will come into play soon. A character we've seen already will claim it and they will have a pivotal role in the story, so don't worry.
At least the Frey soldiers in this series don't have those dumbass looking hats.
BOOK SPOILER
Isn't this Lady Frey supposed to be the rumored lover of Black Ally (future wife of Lord Stark)? Why is she an old woman? Why make such completely unnecessary changes?
I was surprised she was casted as older, too. Maybe she'll look different in mail **shrug**
@@theblackpearlofbraavos I would understand older. But this one is old. Geriatric.
@@KK-fi6ms both her and Forrest look older than I expected.

Cole dice "Sunfyre was long in the dying" así que lo dejaron ahí en Rook's Rest. "Long in the dying", no que está muerto. No sé si lo has visto doblado y lo han traducido mal o qué, pero en versión original al menos dicen que estaba moribundo cuando lo dejaron.
Arya Stark ended House Frey
Why does the HOD feel like a cheap parody version of the GOT ?
Because the story is nowhere near as engaging. This show is based on plain historical chronicles about the civil war, white GoT was based on novels with characters and plots hence why it felt more ‘alive’
To you it might feel that way but it certainly does not to me. The cast is certainly smaller and the story is more straightforward: it's about a Targaryen civil war, that's it.
@@Regenmacher175that’s the problem in my opinion. There’s no story here, it feels more like a streamline of events and representation of people involved in these events. GoT, at its best, was built around the characters and their stories.
@@baronmunchausen645 I think both shows are excellent examples of character-based storytelling. The only difference is GOT had a larger world to present to the audience and a larger cast of characters. The Dance of the Dragons is a civil war as a result of which the Targaryens will be in decline.
Civil war that is over in few weeks in the books

You will have bright colors to marvel at again soon enough.
