The way oscar Tully set daemon in his place in front of the riverlords was top notch. Even daemon had to agree.

Yes, in the books it was him that called for dragonriders. It was his idea, but I prefer this change in the show. It took away his agency but it might've been worth it

Jaehaerys loved Saera, he literally died with her name on his lips…he just couldn’t have a harlot for a daughter running around polishing the pole of every Knight at court, and forcing her high born friends to follow her lead.
I never understood the argument that Jaehaerys was somehow at fault for her…all his other children turned out fine. He even gave her a second chance, putting his life on the line to defend her non existent honor, and she tried to sneak off and tame a dragon so she could disregard her father and keep doing what she wanted…actual back alley Sally.
Saera was a little Targaryen Cersei Lannister, nothing in this world could ever make me agree with the idea that she was somehow the victim of her father’s cruelty.

I love the parallel between Alyn and Baela! In an earlier episode, Corlys offers Baela Driftmark and all the water power it has but she says she is of “fire and blood”, signifying her connection to her house of dragons. And in this episode, Corlys offers Alyn a chance to claim a Targaryen dragon, but he says he is of “salt and sea”, showing his connection to his “house” that belongs to the sea, instead of one of the sky. GENIUS
Seasmoke: literally fired Rhaenyra’s choice & aggressively claimed his hooman
Vermithor: showed a little more restraint than Seasmoke before firing the choices presented to him but at least he didn’t let them go to waste by eating a few before submitting to his new rider
Silverwing: just needed a hooman to check in on her lonely self down in the pit even though her new rider almost smashed an egg & she was convinced this hooman would do

I love how the different dragons are so different. Vermithor tests the dragonseeds and wants a brave one that isn't afraid of him, Silverwing just sees a human alone in a quiet place and is like "Oh you'll do let's go", while Seasmoke actively runs after his former owner's half brother. They don't just look different but also act different, I love it
They even sound different. Like you can distinguish them by their voices/ roaring. It’s truly amazing
Its so fitting that Hugh gets his grandfathers dragon. best episode yet imo, at the very least tied with rhaenys' sacrifice.

The entire Vermithor sequence from Rhaenyra's speech to Hugh Hammer's success was glorious. Its like fantasy history come to life, 0% Game of Thrones late seasons cringe, just savagery, so wonderful thank you ❤

I just wanted to say Emma D'Arcy deserves every single Emmy, golden globe and more this year! They couldn't be a better portray of Rhaenyra. Their acting give me goosebumps and the high Valyrian sounds so natural and perfect.
Honestly, what a beast of an actor.
Emma’s aura is insane this episode! That’s not the Realm’s Delight anymore, like that’s the Dragon Queen and they’re out for blood!

VERMITHOR & SILVERWING HAS JOINED THE BATTLE
It was awesome seeing all dragons aligned with rhaenyra, but at the same time it makes harder to think that they are all going to fall at some point. As rhaenys and maelys did, or worst 😢.
They probably won’t last long in show they will probably kill eachother halfway through next season
This was honestly such a fantastic episode, some of the best dragon scenes ever depicted in a fantasy drama!

Getting both vermithor and silver wings riders in this episode was epic fave episode of the series.
The guy that plays Ulf has been a legend of british comedy for a while. I was so pleased when he appeared at the start of this season, and now he's a dragonlord. Iconic.
I like how in this episode Alicent goes on a vacation to wind down and relax.
She was going through an 'eat, pray, love' phase for sure
Emma making that suggestion to walk amongst the potential dragonseeds makes me love her acting that much more.

Silverwing is the happy one, she's like yay I can get out for once.
Also Silverwing was known to be the most friendly and kind dragon. She never did harm to anyone if she wasn't forced to.
The riverland politics are so messed up even the targaryan dont want to deal with them 😂.
I like what was said about Ulf being supplicant to Silverwing and showing deference and that’s why she chose him. Honestly, my reactions would be exactly the same - “I’m dead… Oh. I’m not dead?!”

@@koifields9051 The Dance of the Dragon is only 4 chapters in the book Fire and Blood. It only took me 5 hours to finish them. In any case they already made plenty of alterations from the book to add drama and context so I wouldn’t be surprised if they added something to make the stories of Hugh Hammer and Ulf White compelling. In the book their background was basically nonexistent only that they are bastards of some horny Targareyen.

I was impressed by acting of Tom Glynn-Carney playing King Aegon ll with severe injuries. It was a step up for the actor. Really enjoying the series.

That ending was perfect
Such an original episode. Although you can see movie references in the dragon scenes ("Alien" suspenses and the shaking camera in personal horror experiences), the curious situations are entertaining, and it's satisfying to see these new characters assemble. Props to Emma's acting being top notch as usual 👏🏼

The stuff with the seeds is something I've been waiting for since this show was announced, I wouldn't have anticipated getting so much time with them, Hugh in particular is seemingly gonna be a really compelling character.
I know everyone is tripping on the dragons, but can we take a minute to appreciate how good was the cinematography on Allicent's trip to the woods? It was so delicate, beautiful, and whimsical, all at the same time... I didn't want those scenes to end.

I think the choice to have the disfigured dragonseed be the first to step forward really emphasized the squid game deathsport nature of it, like the ones with the crappiest lives in king's landing are the ones most willing to take a chance. it's inspiring at the end for our two named characters succeeding but important not to forget how dark and desperate this concept is at the same time as being empowering
The acting in this show along with everything that's in production is Top Elite tier. And Rhaenyra has become my favorite in the show after these two episode. A true Queen Cold Evil And Beautiful. ❤

I don’t think that if daemon hadnt had all these visions he would have let Oscar Tully speak about and speak to him low that. He has grown and understood his behaviour.
I find it interesting that the scene between Jace and Rhaenyra almost reminds me of Jon & Daenerys. Daenerys feared Jon reaching for the Iron Throne just because he is a male Targaryen. Now the coin is turned of Jace questioning that he is a bastard himself and his claim is truly false as soon as another Targaryen bastard with the actual silver hair claims a dragon. However those bastards will have greater claim because of their silver hair and more. Love this episode. Thanks for uploading.
I love hearing that it was Paddy's idea to have Viserys in his decrepit state by the end! Goes to show how much he understands the character and respects the story being told. Even dead, Paddy continues to be one of the best parts of the show xD

This is the difference between Rhaenys and Aemond . Rhaenys went head on seeing multiple dragons while Aemond fleed instantly lol
Aemond was outnumbered 4 to 1. And Rhaenys only fought one dragon at a time.

@@masterplokoon8803 a dragon bonding with a human has percentages of their brain incharge. Meleys and Rhaenys were definitely 50/50, both deciding and acting. Arrax and Luke were 30/70, Arrax didn't listen to everything Luke said. Daemon and Caraxes are 100% in sync, their conversations are telepathic and Daemon never commands anything to Caraxes. Caraxes feels hurt when an arrow shoots Daemon. Similarly, Aemond and Vhagar are 10/90. 90% of Vhagar taking control, Vhagar fighting purely off her experience and totally violating Aemond. This is what I meant. Aemond has really little knowledge and experience of dragon riding and bonding, he completely relies on Vhagar. This is what I meant by autopilot, his sync with Vhagar is probably the lowest of all her riders (Visenya, Baelon, Laena).
In the final scene of this episode, Vhagar wants to take them on being the granny at the end of her life but Aemond flees and forces Vhagar to as well.
