  • In this travel vlog, my dad and I take a motorbike tour around all of Saigon, Vietnam. The tour is called an “Unseen Saigon” tour, because we visit a lot of the lesser visited locations around the city that most tourists don’t visit. This was a great way for my dad, who is visiting from America, to see a unique side of Saigon that is usually only seen by people who live here.
The tour was hosted by two university students who rode us around on the back of their motorbikes and gave us information about all of the locations we visited. The two tour guides were named Thanh (nickname: Jennifer) and Dung (nickname: Yu). Both of the tour guides were really friendly and knowledgeable, and they were able to speak English well too.
You can find their tour at this website:
    saigonadventure.com
The price of the tour was $20 per person.
The tour was about 4 hours total. Overall we had a great time and I would recommend this tour to anyone who is traveling to Ho Chi Minh City and wants to see some interesting things that are off the beaten tourist path.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed this travel vlog.

Great to see you and your dad lighting incense and "praying". Some Christians may believe as Christians, we cannot do that. However, you are not "praying" but paying respect and that's a big difference. God bless you and your dad.

Hoa Ly is from the French word Fleur de Lys and Ly in Vietnamese means separation ( chia ly ) , farewell ( biet ly ) , break-up , divorce ( ly di ) . It's too bad that I am not currently in SGN but in Song Pha , a small town located between Dalat and Phan Rang . Otherwise It would be a pleasure for me to give you a FREE sightseeing and food tour around Saigon and the neighbourhood , because both of you are so friendly and respectful .

@@BigTimeBentley keep them up. Doing an awesome job! I like your natural way about it. Not the right words. You’re not fancy. And I mean that in a good way. No fancy music. Just you and the camera. Plain and simple. I don’t think I’m cut out for videoing with my voice and taking interviews like you. But I do like riding. And showing videos doing that. Just been posting on Facebook. I ate at that street food place today. The crab cakes, crab meat with the thick noodles. It was very good.

Yes ! it's Cho Ban Co ( the Chess Board Market ) . I don't think those buildings were built for the Americans . They had more modern ones located in safer areas like Dong Khoi ( ex Tu Do) , Hai Ba Trung, Le Thanh Ton , Le Loi , Nguyen Hue , Le Duân ( ex Thong Nhât ) , Vo van Tân ( ex Trân Quy Cap ) , Trân Cao Vân , Ly Tu Trong ( ex Gia Long ) , Nam Ky Khoi Nghia ( ex Cong Ly ) , Trân Hung Dao , Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (ex Hong Thâp Tu ) , Dinh Tien Hoang , Nguyen Dinh Chieu , Le Quy Don , Truong Minh Ky , Nguyen Van Troi ( ex Cach Mang , the street leading to Tân Son Nhât airport) . Back at that time my two American neighbors on Tu Do street (corner Le Thanh Ton) were young diplomats working for the American Embassy on Thong Nhât ( currently Le Duân ) boulevard . We were friends until they left VN in 1969 . One of them looked a lot like your father . Most of the American militaries lived in military bases in Long Binh , Bien Hoa , Tân Son Nhât ...

Hey Stephen ! you must be a very narrow-minded Vietnamese Christian guy . I have nothing against Christianity but for me you seem to be even more Catholic than the Pope or more Protestant than Martin Luther or Jean Calvin . Bentley and Bill just showed their respect to the Venerable Thich Quang Duc who back at that time had sacrificed his life to protest against the oppression of the Vietnamese Buddhist followers by the dictator Ngo Dinh Diem who a year later had to pay for his crime . Religion should have no boundaries . It's all within the heart as Hoodhunter said in his comment . Fanaticism always leads to foolish bloody wars and killings . I am an atheist but I have respect for all religions .

@@hungcuongnguyen293 my statement is a reference to Christian Bible. For you not to consider it with respect is the opposite of open mindedness. Your assertion about Luther and Calvin is incorrect, I suggest you to read their writings. Conflicts and wars caused by atheistic ideology were far more bloody than religious ones, I suggest you to read more history.

@@hungcuongnguyen293, Stephen is right. As a Christian, you are supposed to bow only to God, to bow to other statues or images is abhorrent. You don't have to bow to show respect. As a Christian, one should respect people, but not bow to their idols.
